What I love most about the film is the obvious, obvious desire the two have for each other. Ever heard of the word mamihlapinatapai? It’s when two people look at each other and want the same thing, but they’re both too afraid to make a move. Yeah, that's beautifully portrayed in this film by the two characters.

Good actresses, they are. I think Elaine Cassidy is intense in an adorable, baby-face kind of way. Sigh.

Stumbled upon it yesterday and I'm so glad I did. It's the best .. "Movie" I have ever seen. I hesitate to call it lesbian, because that seems to marginalise it far more than it deserves. I've read the book, and have now seen this. All I can say about the book is that it made me feel less like reading, but more like living. The movie, well.. I'm absolutely crazy for it; can't help but stare at Sue. Her smile is to die for (especially that grin) x_x <3

Ronald.. have you ever seen the movie "maurice" with hugh grant.. It is a very well acted movie with an underlying gay theme. similar in production quality to Fingersmith but with men! :) A wonderful movie; I highly recommend it.

Maybe it's production quality is not that high but the story and romance are beautiful. The second closest good gay romance movie I've found was Imagine me and You...but that's women again :(

I want more of these kinds of movies. Not just cute boys to look at and dance parties til dawn. I want something about the boy next door who is dealing with day to day crap and meets someone who makes him vibrate down to his toes in love. Someone who takes him for his flaws as well as merit.
