looks like xande was letting roger know the fight was over, if you watch carefully the referee shakes first his arms and immediately xande (who is looking at the referee) does the "tap", but roger (who is not paying attention to the ref) hasn´t fully extendend x´s arm yet then comes the ref closer and roger has no doubt the fight is over.

Wow congratulations to Xande. He wasn't tapping at the end he was going for the basic armbar defense of pushing roger's knee off his head. In my opinion comments about how Xande was going to tap are pointless. No one knows what would have happened next. Comments about how Xande won are also specious. This is a standard BJJ tournament. It isn't a submission only tournament, or a street fight, or an mma match. He won under the rules of the tournament just like everyone else

if it were a real fight then there would be strikes and it would have been a totally differnt fight, so you can't really say that. moreover Roger is a lot bigger than xande, so it would be unlikly to sanctioned excpt for in Japan.

xande is great, but is he better than roger? no he isnt. he beat roger on takedowns. he dosent engage on the ground because he would lose. if this match was five seconds longer he would have been submitted. the finals really should be no time limit

That was a nice armbar by Roger at the end, xande would have tapped if the fight was one or two seconds longer... But it wasn't. It may have looked like Xande tapped, but I think he just got a little panic with his right arm when he got caught and I think there were no tapping.. But kinda hard to say from this video...

Xande never tapped. Roger was about to set up a arm bar but it was too late the match was over and Xande won. He won that weight class as well as the absolute weight class.
