It's usually inactivity that causes a guy more problems then fighting more than twice a year. I think you are right had he fought more he has a better chance at losing because of an off night. A guy can have the style to give Floyd fits but, his ring IQ is off the chart. Ask Marquez himself. Floyds reach and physical gifts gave him problems not the 2lbs.
@1amno277 keep cursing and making excuses if it makes u feel better, im not a hater of marquez because he is a respectable man, but we both know floyd never imposed his weight on marquez in that fight, he beat him to the punches landed. ask marquez.
@MADMAC572 marquez said that in the interview yes, he has to give an excuse. but u hve watched the fight im sure, u cant say floyd used his weight on him. and wat was the weight difference 2lbs correct me if im wrong, that wasnt gonna make any much difference in that fight anyway.
@donthate123ish Floyd is much bigger physically than Martinez. Floyd is a legitimate welterweight who can't make 140 anymore. Martinez is a lightweight who can and does make 135 still. BIG difference in strength between these two guys. Of course Floyd is faster than Martinez, and Martinez is not even heavy handed at 135. So those two factors create an obstacle he wasn't going to overcome against a fighter with the defensive proficiency of Floyd.
@MADMAC572 against floyd he wasnt heavy handed though he has a very good right hand, remember at the time marquezz was ranked 3rd in the P4P, correct me if im wrong
i was looking forward to a probably fight-of-the-year with ortiz vs mayweather... and got the worst fight of the year... :( headbuttin, bitching, sucker-punching, terrible :(
@1amno277 Marquez and Marquezes trainer said it them selves it wasnt the weight it was Mayweathers skill speed and footwork that really helped him win the fight.
@Midnightrambler3760 Im being real.may weather is a good fighter.obviously he hasnt lost yet..but i doubt hes gonna retire undefeated.if he does its because hes only gonna take 1 fight per year.
@Midnightrambler3760 If Floyd fought four times a year, he'd eventually run into someone who had a style that troubled him and he'd lose. He's WAY too inactive.
@MADMAC572 Managers like to keep fighters busy because many are notorious for gaining weight and getting out of shape between fights so keeping them busy is a way to avoid that.
The downside is continuous activity increases your exposure to punishment and over many years this adds up. Pac's ring age is already starting to show due to the punishment he has taken.
Floyd has figured it out. He keeps in tremendous shape and he still looks sharp as he has taken little punishment.
@Midnightrambler3760 Yeah, but his legacy is going to take a beating (maybe that's not that important to him). He hasn't cleaned out a single division he's ever fought in. He has 42 fights. He's fought some good, solid, guys, but not nearly enough. Look at someone like Chavez who fought well over 100 fights and over 80 before he ever lost one. If you want to be compared to guys like that, skill set isn't enough. You got to be active.
@MADMAC572 What do you mean he has never cleaned out a division?
Floyd had a title plus 8 defenses at super featherweight. That's double what Pac has had in any one division. In fact Floyd has had 19 title fights and Pac only 17. Why is floyd held to a higher standard?
@Midnightrambler3760 Floyd isn't held to a higher standard. Manny has held titles in eight divisions, Floyd five. They've both fought a high quality of opposition, neither has been active enough to compare with historical greats. Simple as that. Manny and Floyd, in terms of accomplishment, are about on an equal level. In terms of ability, it remains to be seen.
@MADMAC572 One of PAc's 8 titles is a Ring Magazine Title and evben Roach admits not a real title but it does lok good when hyping him. Two others were at catchweights, so hmmmm.
Floyd has won a title in every division he has passed through, Pac has not.
Anyway, that argument is irrelevant to me. Floyd will beat pac rather easilt.
@Midnightrambler3760 Ahhh, the old "bum" claim. That's what Greg Haugen, former lightweight champ, said. Bad call. If Mayweather doesn't want to be active, that's fine. If he wants to fight once a year and collect a big payday, that's fine. But then don't beat your chest and claim greatness. Greatness is measured in achievement, not ability. Simple as that. Chavez had almost as many title fights as Mayweather has had fights!
@MADMAC572 How much money did Greg Haugen amke in his career? I rest my case.
Also Floyd's opponents have had a winning rate of 85% against other opponents, Chavez's opponents had a win rate of 81%. So Floyd has statitically fought better fighters on average.
@Midnightrambler3760 What case is that - that claiming Chavez fought bums was a moronic thing to say. He beat everyone who was anyone at 135 when he campaigned there, which was a long time. Fighters today have better win rates - because they don't fight as much. Not to say Floyd hasn't fought good quality, he has. the difference is he's fought half as much.
@Midnightrambler3760 And what I want to see is Floyd beat Berto, Ortiz again (the first fight being an abortion), Pacquio a couple of times, Bradley, maybe Senchenko or Brook or Zaveck - a couple of those lessar lights. Of the guys rated in the top ten at welter, Floyd has beaten TWO. TWO. Both Manny and Floyd have to get with the program. Ward has beaten 4 guys in the top ten and had 8 fights in the since 09. Floyd fights once a year!
@MADMAC572 It is a different world. Back in those days there were fights on TV every week-end. That does not happen any more. PPV has killed that. Would you pay $60 every week-end to watch fights?
Fighters fought so often back then because they had no choice, they had to make a living and were not paid that well.
@Midnightrambler3760 Ali? Give me a break. He lost to Norton and Frazier, who Foreman just destroyed in a couple of rounds. See the problem with that logic? I'm not saying Berto would win, I am saying he's a top ranks welter, Floyd is the champ, Floyd should fight him. And the fight with Ortiz was an abortion. That fight mandates a rematch. My standards are that the Champ should be fighting. A lot. At least three times a year. Modern champs are cherry picking opponents.
@MADMAC572 I am saying Floyd would eat Berto alive and in the era of PPV, nobody would pay to see it. Why would Floyd fight Berto for next to nothing?
@Midnightrambler3760 You don't know that. Berto is a LOT bigger than Floyd, barely making 147, a weight Floyd makes easily (having started at 130). I suspect that you are right, but you don't know it. Upsets happen. And it would not be for "next to nothing". Floyd would get ten million out of that fight. That ain't "next to nothing".
@MADMAC572 Floyd comfortably makes 147 as he keeps himself in great shape between fights, but Floyd is also bigger than people think and comes into the ring in the 150's.
Actually, it will be interesting to see how strong Floyd looks against Cotto when does not have to sweat to 147 lbs.
@Midnightrambler3760 Floyd started at 130. Berto has never fought below welterweight. Look at the guy. He's thick as a tree trunk. Built a lot like Fernando Vargas. Very strong. Floyd is a naturally smaller guy. Berto could never have made 135, or even 140, let alone 130.
@Midnightrambler3760 10 mil is not next to nothing - for anyone. That's a decent chunk of change for what you just said would be an easy fight. He could take that fight, and then fight again against Pacquio in three months time. Because it was an easy fight (I don't think it would be that easy - your words, not mine). If you want to make the arguement "this is a different era" that's fine. But Floyd is the one who wants to compare himself to guys from other eras.
@Midnightrambler3760 Not relevent. Skills are not relevent, and when discussing skill and ability, it's subjective. Measuring achievement, on the other hand, is not. Don't get me wrong, Flolyd has had a great career and he'll probably be ranked in the top ten of all time (based on his championship fights). But he won't come near Chavez because ability don't count - achievement counts.
@MADMAC572 The reason why Ward fought so much in 2009 and 2010 is because he was in the Showtime Tournament. Now that he is champion he only fought twice in 2011 with no fight yet announced or planned in 2012.
Floyd fought in December and has announced a fight for May 2012. So from May 2011 to May 2012 inclusive, it will be 2 fights each.
Ward will not and cannot maintain his previous pace.
@MADMAC572 Ward will not maintain his pace because the Showtime Tournament is over. He said he will now sit back and wait and see what happens and pick the highest paying fights.
Like I said previously, come May 5th, 2012 both Flody and Ward will have fought twice in the previous 13 months.
Floyd said he fights once a year because he makes so much and given the tax bracket his 2nd fight would be for nothing. Who fights for nothing?
@Midnightrambler3760 You're cherry picking your dates now. Are you saying Ward plans to fight once a year from here on in? Because that's what Mayweather is doing. At this pace, he won't even make 50 fights.
@MADMAC572 Every fighter slows down once they make a name. Ward has won the tournament now he will slow his fight pace.
You cherrypicked dates when you said since 2009 because that was when Ward was in the tournament and he had no choice but to fight. Now he can pick his spots and has fought twice in 13 months.
You will see. We can continue this conversation 4 years from ow and i bet Ward has an additional 8 fights.
@Midnightrambler3760 That is true - but it doesn't change overall achievement and evaluation of it. The PPV era isn't going to survive either. Modern media and the distribution of events electronically is going to eventually kill it. Why shell out 50 bucks for a fight I can watch for free over the internet? I live in Thailand, and some of the Pacquio fights are on free TV here, but those that aren't people watch over the internet for free. No stopping that (though they try).
@MADMAC572 I hope you are right because I have only paid for one PPV in my life. I just refuse to pay and then I watch the fight the next day on Youtube before they realize and yank it down.
I have no intention of paying $50 to watch Mayweather lay a pasting on Cotto. This should be a routine fight on Friday Night Fights.
@Midnightrambler3760 And frankly I think three times a year is about right. That gives you adequate time to prepare and adequate time to hype the fight for the promoter.
@MADMAC572 Also, fighting many times a year takes it's physical toll over a long career. People like Floyd have wised up and realized this fact. Why fight 120 times when you can fight 50 times and make 1,000x more money?
The reason why Chavez fought 120 times was because he had no choice, he had to make a living.
The last 10 years of Chavez's career were pathetic and it was sad that he had to fight into his 40's because everyone got off rich except for him.
@Midnightrambler3760 Chavez is a multi-millionaire. He made tons of money in his career. He kept fighting, because that's what he did. He couldn't do anything else. He didn't fight on because he was broke. Even today he's not broke. Like I said, if Floyd wants to fight less, that's up to him. But then let's stop comparing his achievements to those of guys who did twice as much (or more). That's absurd.
@Midnightrambler3760 Roger said it best? "Chavez isn't the most skillfull guy I fought, but he's the most determined fighter I've ever been in the ring with." Will and skill count in equal measure. But I agree, Floyd has outstanding ability. He's a thoroughbred. Just doesn't race enough.
Victor is just trying to get that next big pay check. Facing floyd he got his first real big pay out and now he wants another. He can't get either of them unless he says he can beat them. Could he beat manny or mayweather... probably not but he is still maturing as a fighter.
good for ORTIZ if he has a dream he should go after it. ITs just like any other person if you have a dream protect it and never let anybody tell you "you cant" those are the people that cant do something themselves so they try to tell others they "cant". impossible is nothing we all have talents and we all have dreams and its up to ourselves to make our dreams come true. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO AND NEVER LET ANYONE SAY YOU CANT....
Victor Ortiz is just another sub-par/scrub fighter that got a chance to be a superstar when he fought Floyd. Peep this--Floyd knocked your ass out. Even if he didn't punch you the way he did, he still would have won;look at the scoreboards. When you walked into that ring, I'm pretty sure every REAL boxing fan knew you weren't going to leave with that belt. Please don't fight Manny and ruin yourself even more....
I would love to watch a fight between Victor Ortiz and Manny Pacquiao. Any fight with Mayweather would look far too technical and be boring, unless he creates alot of drama by knocking out someone that was technically a cheap shot.
Victor, I'm you from the future. Don't fight Pacquiao, you will end up spending more money on a new set of teeth than the money you'll make getting knocked out.
@Arseezy ortiz fanboy / couch potato (apparently also a fat ugly asian jaja) - please delete your youtube account and get off the internet, do something productive like making sushi.
@albertolinguini Actually I'm all for Pacquiao, but Ortiz is pretty cool too.. And I'm not asian, I'm Chamorro (from Guam) so that explains my huge body shape. Thanks for that insult, a very generic comment towards asian people. (It's funny haha, because Asian people make sushi, I totally get it.
Now answer me this: Who's going to win in May? Pacquiao or Mayweather?
@Arseezy lol don't take what people say over the internet seriously. It isn't a generic comment towards asian people, it's a dumb assumption made by me.
As for your question, my opinion is Pacquiao, but then again, that's just my opinion. If you need reasons, I'll happily share them with you. On the other hand, who are you rooting for?
@Arseezy You honestly don''t know who will win, really?
Pac can't even beat Marquez, you think he would last 6 rounds with Floyd. Easy win for Floyd, that is why Arum will never put pac anywhere near floyd.
Flody has called pac out for May 5th, 2012...lets see if pac shows up.
@ActorBoy321 Floyd has announced he has booked the MGM Grand for May 5th, 2012. He has called out Pacquaio. Arum announced that he is not seeking a fight with Floyd but will promote a Pac/Marquez 4 instead.
Alex Ariza (Pac's conditioning coach) said Pac wants to fight Floyd but it is Arum who is preventing it. Apparently Pac is not happy and there is instability in the pac camp.
floyd expects him to just come to some random event....there is thing called NEGOTIATIONS.....for example, "hey manny, lets fight...what date is good for you?"
@Midnightrambler3760 lmfao 6 rounds get outta here man i know pacquiao had trouble with marquez but roach for sure has a new approach into beating mayweather.im not gonna say mayweather will lose but dont doubt pacquiao too much...im pretty sure pacquiao will be probably one of the best that mayweathers ever went up against
@Ninjaballa121 Roach also said Pac would knock out Marquez.
Roach has pulled the biggest swindle in history. He has cherrypicked weak opponents for pac and convinced you all he is a much better trainer than he really is.
Roach will get owned. Roach on his best day cannot outhink Floyd on his worst.
@Midnightrambler3760 weak opponents??? like who? i honestly dont think that roach is gonna have a hard time to think of a strategy...i dont think it will come out very successful in which pacquiao wins but enough to keep pac in the fight for all twelve..i really dont think thats how freddie roach rolls..i dont know any trainer who is like that
@Midnightrambler3760 i respect mayweather love that dudes skill his defense is crazzyyy good and im also a huge pacquiao fan but you cant doubt pacquiao and his camp completely...pac wont be that easy to stop..but not saying hes gonna win
@Ninjaballa121 Floyd wil punsih pac with a body attack. Pac has been KO'd before to the body. Flody will take away his legs and he will be a sitting duck.
@Midnightrambler3760 lol who has mayweather fought??? that actually had talent...clottey would beat the living hell out of floyd mayweather..lol clottey probably coulda owned pacquiao too if he actually tried..and you said ko'd to the body before please understand that thats the past within pacs last ten fights has that happend kod to the bodY?
@Midnightrambler3760 pac has grown tremendously over the years and pacquiao will not lose that easily mayweather definetly wont go down that easily i respect your opinion dude..but no one knows what will happen
@Ninjaballa121 Before the second Marquez fight Roach said pac has grown and learned alot and would dominate Marquez. It didn't happen, Pac looked worse.
Then after the 2nd fight pac has fought a string of face first defenseless fighters and cherrypicks.
Roach said Pac has improved and would KO Marquez. Pac looked even worse than the first two fights.
@Ninjaballa121 Pac was beaten up by a 38 year old counterpuncher who was bitchslapped by floyd 2 years ago.
Flody is bigger an dstronge rthan Marquez with a 6" reach advantage and 3" height advantage. Add on floyd's speed and skill and pac does not stand a chance.
Easy win, that is why Arum has been hiding pac from floyd.
@Midnightrambler3760 um well you didnt answer my question who has floyd beaten that actually had talent? lol and pacquiao has improved since he fought erik morales and lost the first time ever since then hes just been getting better..mayweather has never fought anyone that you can actually say is a talented boxer..also your baseing pacquiao off of this one fight...okay and yes i do beleive arum is hiding pac but pacs not hiding himself..pacquiao is gonna be the only boxer that is...
@Ninjaballa121 How has Pacquaio improved? He looked bad against Marquez in fight 1 and he looked just as bad in fight 3.
You also need to realize Morales was coming off a loss every time he fought Pac and in the second fight nobody mentions that Morales had lost to Zahir Raheem a few months earlier.
Just becaus Pac did well against a bunch of face first defenseless fighters in between does not mean he has improved. The only thing that improved was Roach's ability to cherrypick.
@Midnightrambler3760 actually able to match up to floyd..not one boxer that floyd went against could out match him no one was close to his level which is why hes undefeated if he faced mosely in his prime mosely would dismantle that fool same for pacquiao if he went against mosely..
@Midnightrambler3760 dude im just gonna say this your just being very opinionated and i feel you just really hate pacquiao and his camp for some reason seems like you dont have any respect for em...cause to say that pacquiao will get owned or mayweather will get owned is just ignorant we have no idea what could happen ITS THE 2 BEST POUND FOR POUND FIGHTERS...but i respect you dude i understand everything your saying were both just on COMPLETELY different views....that is all
@Ninjaballa121 When Flody moved up to WW he took on teh WW champ Baldomir at full WW. No Catchweight required. Floyd was outweighed by 15 lbs in the ring.
Floyd fought Oscar at full JMW and was outweighed by 17 lbs in the ring.
Floyd's WW and JMW titles are real, pac's are fake.
@Ninjaballa121 I just don;t see how a guy who cannot handle Marquez's counterpunching is expected to handle Floyd who is an even better counterpuncher than Marquez and has an additionl 6" in reach.
There is no strategy pac can come up with, he is overmatched and outclassed.
@kuirenBudasz Mayweather has a great chin and Pac has shown no power at welterweight. APc has not scored a KO in 48 rounds and over 3,000 punches thrown.
I see it getting stopped because floyd is just punishing pac too much and pac cannot stop it.
I love how you're all angry at a fighter that goes into the ring thinking he has a chance to win. Or do you go into fights knowing that you have no chance? What's the more idiotic way of thinking as a fighter?
"Oh yeah, I wanna fight Pac and MW but I'm not gonna win, please pay to watch this fans!"
leave the man alone lol. Hes a competitor and a competitor never says hes gonna lose. If he kept on saying hes gonna lose on HBO, who would even watch the fight since they know whos gonna win. Hes just saying that to boost his owen confidence. Deep down inside he knows he cant touch manny haha
this guy is always kissing the canvas when he sparred manny,,,even manny is not in great shape,,why he's saying he can beat manny, is he's on drugs???
He can beat them with headbutts lol and rabbit punching! Fucking dirty fighting ass mofo. I'm ashamed he is Mexican because Mexicans don't fight like that.
pacquiao started his debut at 16 years of age at 116 and mayweather at 19 years of age at 130 but i bet you mayweather weight about 120 at 16 years old so pacquiao still needed to get his adult weight by 19 im sure he weight around 126 so why cant pacquiao gain 5 more pounds than mayweather and both be at 147 ...so that means mayweather is a steroid guy too he just gain 5 pounds less...
vic would lose badly to floyd q00 out of 100 x vic could beat paq and i think he would beat paq. all about styles and vic is too big and strong for paq and just flat out hits way too hard and has too much skill to go along with that power. paq would obviouslt be favored but it would truly be a tossup and i think vic would stop paq.
floyd is just on a totally different level then any fighter any of us have ever seen

@nogimmicks43rd It depends for how many more years Floyd decides to fight.
I do not see anybody on the horizon at 147 who can even challenge Floyd. They were talking about Khan, but we know that is nonsense.
Floyd fights once a year because he makes so much money a second fight he would have to do for free as the tax man would take any income.
I think you have a much better chance of seeing pac eventually getting his ass whooped than Floyd.

@MADMAC572 Yes, but at 33 years old Chavez was washed up and done. At that point he had 4 losses in his last 11 fights.
Legacy is for the philosophers, Floyd is concerned with Money and finishing with his brain in one piece.
It is a different era, the top fighters no longer have to fight for peanuts. They can fight less and make more.
Anyway, who cares about 100 fights when most were against bums? You really want to see floyd beat up on some guy ranked 15th in the division?
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Ahhh, the old "bum" claim. That's what Greg Haugen, former lightweight champ, said. Bad call. If Mayweather doesn't want to be active, that's fine. Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 You said he fought "everyone who was anyone at 135 lbs".
But after you dispatch teh top few what is left? That is my point.
I am saying when guys were fighting 8 times a year every fight was not the best opponent. In fact many were ranked very low.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 And what I want to see is Floyd beat Berto, Ortiz again (the first fight being an abortion), Pacquio a couple of times, Bradley, maybe Senchenko or Brook or Zaveck - a couple of those lessar lights. Of the guys rated in the top ten at welter, Floyd has beaten TWO. TWO. Both Manny and Floyd have to get with the program. Ward has beaten 4 guys in the top ten and had 8 fights in the since 09. Floyd fights once a year!
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 It is a different world. Back in those days there were fights on TV every week-end. That does not happen any more. PPV has killed that. Would you pay $60 every week-end to watch fights?
Fighters fought so often back then because they had no choice, they had to make a living and were not paid that well.
Different eras, you cannot compare.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Berto? Give me a break, he lost to Ortiz who Floyd just KO'd. As for Ortiz, he was schooled by Floyd and Floyd was not even warmed up yet.
You want to see Pac fight Zaveck who lost to Berto, who lost to Ortiz who lost to Floyd? Really?
Wow your standards are really low.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Ali? Give me a break. He lost to Norton and Frazier, who Foreman just destroyed in a couple of rounds. See the problem with that logic? I'm not saying Berto would win, I am saying he's a top ranks welter, Floyd is the champ, Floyd should fight him. And the fight with Ortiz was an abortion. That fight mandates a rematch. My standards are that the Champ should be fighting. A lot. At least three times a year. Modern champs are cherry picking opponents.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 I am saying Floyd would eat Berto alive and in the era of PPV, nobody would pay to see it. Why would Floyd fight Berto for next to nothing?
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 You don't know that. Berto is a LOT bigger than Floyd, barely making 147, a weight Floyd makes easily (having started at 130). I suspect that you are right, but you don't know it. Upsets happen. And it would not be for "next to nothing". Floyd would get ten million out of that fight. That ain't "next to nothing".
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Floyd comfortably makes 147 as he keeps himself in great shape between fights, but Floyd is also bigger than people think and comes into the ring in the 150's.
Actually, it will be interesting to see how strong Floyd looks against Cotto when does not have to sweat to 147 lbs.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Floyd started at 130. Berto has never fought below welterweight. Look at the guy. He's thick as a tree trunk. Built a lot like Fernando Vargas. Very strong. Floyd is a naturally smaller guy. Berto could never have made 135, or even 140, let alone 130.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Relatively speaking, $10 million for Floyd is next to nothing.
I think Floyd/Berto would be an absolute waste of time and there has not been much demand for it from fans or writers.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 10 mil is not next to nothing - for anyone. That's a decent chunk of change for what you just said would be an easy fight. He could take that fight, and then fight again against Pacquio in three months time. Because it was an easy fight (I don't think it would be that easy - your words, not mine). If you want to make the arguement "this is a different era" that's fine. But Floyd is the one who wants to compare himself to guys from other eras.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Again, Floyd is more skilled than Chavez.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Not relevent. Skills are not relevent, and when discussing skill and ability, it's subjective. Measuring achievement, on the other hand, is not. Don't get me wrong, Flolyd has had a great career and he'll probably be ranked in the top ten of all time (based on his championship fights). But he won't come near Chavez because ability don't count - achievement counts.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Who has Senchenko fought? Which Ward you referring to?
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Andre Ward. Super Middleweight Champ. Who at least is sort of active.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 The reason why Ward fought so much in 2009 and 2010 is because he was in the Showtime Tournament. Now that he is champion he only fought twice in 2011 with no fight yet announced or planned in 2012.
Floyd fought in December and has announced a fight for May 2012. So from May 2011 to May 2012 inclusive, it will be 2 fights each.
Ward will not and cannot maintain his previous pace.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 correction...september not december. Point still stands.
From May 2010 to May 2011 it will be 2 fights each for Mayweather and Ward.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Ward CAN maintain his previous pace, I just don't know if he will. The last four years, Floyd has fought once a year. Not good.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Ward will not maintain his pace because the Showtime Tournament is over. He said he will now sit back and wait and see what happens and pick the highest paying fights.
Like I said previously, come May 5th, 2012 both Flody and Ward will have fought twice in the previous 13 months.
Floyd said he fights once a year because he makes so much and given the tax bracket his 2nd fight would be for nothing. Who fights for nothing?
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 You're cherry picking your dates now. Are you saying Ward plans to fight once a year from here on in? Because that's what Mayweather is doing. At this pace, he won't even make 50 fights.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Every fighter slows down once they make a name. Ward has won the tournament now he will slow his fight pace.
You cherrypicked dates when you said since 2009 because that was when Ward was in the tournament and he had no choice but to fight. Now he can pick his spots and has fought twice in 13 months.
You will see. We can continue this conversation 4 years from ow and i bet Ward has an additional 8 fights.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 That would be at least two a year - not one a year. If Ward fights once a year, I'll fall off his bandwagon too.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 It's simple economics. People aren't going to buy a boxing PPV eight times a year, especially for some routine title defense.
We are now in the PPV era. 8 fights a year is a thing fo the past for elite fighters.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 That is true - but it doesn't change overall achievement and evaluation of it. The PPV era isn't going to survive either. Modern media and the distribution of events electronically is going to eventually kill it. Why shell out 50 bucks for a fight I can watch for free over the internet? I live in Thailand, and some of the Pacquio fights are on free TV here, but those that aren't people watch over the internet for free. No stopping that (though they try).
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 I hope you are right because I have only paid for one PPV in my life. I just refuse to pay and then I watch the fight the next day on Youtube before they realize and yank it down.
I have no intention of paying $50 to watch Mayweather lay a pasting on Cotto. This should be a routine fight on Friday Night Fights.
People need to just stop buying PPV.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 And frankly I think three times a year is about right. That gives you adequate time to prepare and adequate time to hype the fight for the promoter.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Also, fighting many times a year takes it's physical toll over a long career. People like Floyd have wised up and realized this fact. Why fight 120 times when you can fight 50 times and make 1,000x more money?
The reason why Chavez fought 120 times was because he had no choice, he had to make a living.
The last 10 years of Chavez's career were pathetic and it was sad that he had to fight into his 40's because everyone got off rich except for him.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Chavez is a multi-millionaire. He made tons of money in his career. He kept fighting, because that's what he did. He couldn't do anything else. He didn't fight on because he was broke. Even today he's not broke. Like I said, if Floyd wants to fight less, that's up to him. But then let's stop comparing his achievements to those of guys who did twice as much (or more). That's absurd.
MADMAC572 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 Chavez's financial problems were well documented late in his career.
Comparing different era's is the absurd thing.
I am not sure how having more fights means a guy had a better career.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@MADMAC572 I thought Chavez was a great fighter but skillwise I think floyd is a whole different level.
Midnightrambler3760 1 week ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Roger said it best? "Chavez isn't the most skillfull guy I fought, but he's the most determined fighter I've ever been in the ring with." Will and skill count in equal measure. But I agree, Floyd has outstanding ability. He's a thoroughbred. Just doesn't race enough.

Please don't fight Manny and ruin yourself even more....
swaguymusicpage 3 months ago
I would love to watch a fight between Victor Ortiz and Manny Pacquiao. Any fight with Mayweather would look far too technical and be boring, unless he creates alot of drama by knocking out someone that was technically a cheap shot.

Arseezy 3 months ago
@Arseezy lol don't take what people say over the internet seriously. It isn't a generic comment towards asian people, it's a dumb assumption made by me.

albertolinguini 3 months ago
@albertolinguini Between Pacquiao and Mayweather? I mean, I love Pacquiao but Mayweather eats hits like crazy, and he might cheat again ha ha ha.

Arseezy 3 months ago
@Arseezy You honestly don''t know who will win, really?
Pac can't even beat Marquez, you think he would last 6 rounds with Floyd. Easy win for Floyd, that is why Arum will never put pac anywhere near floyd.
Flody has called pac out for May 5th, 2012...lets see if pac shows up.
Midnightrambler3760 3 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 they're fighting may 5 ?
ActorBoy321 2 months ago
@ActorBoy321 Floyd has announced he has booked the MGM Grand for May 5th, 2012. He has called out Pacquaio. Arum announced that he is not seeking a fight with Floyd but will promote a Pac/Marquez 4 instead.
Alex Ariza (Pac's conditioning coach) said Pac wants to fight Floyd but it is Arum who is preventing it. Apparently Pac is not happy and there is instability in the pac camp.
We will see what happens.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago

@aznracerboi2k5 Didn't Arum set a random date in texas and then have a countdown clock? When Arum did it you all said Floyd is ducking Manny.

Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
i dont think floyd will run for more than 3 rounds.....
aznracerboi2k5 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 lmfao 6 rounds get outta here man i know pacquiao had trouble with marquez but roach for sure has a new approach into beating mayweather.im not gonna say mayweather will lose but dont doubt pacquiao too much...im pretty sure pacquiao will be probably one of the best that mayweathers ever went up against
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Roach also said Pac would knock out Marquez.
Roach has pulled the biggest swindle in history. He has cherrypicked weak opponents for pac and convinced you all he is a much better trainer than he really is.
Roach will get owned. Roach on his best day cannot outhink Floyd on his worst.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 weak opponents??? like who? i honestly dont think that roach is gonna have a hard time to think of a strategy...i dont think it will come out very successful in which pacquiao wins but enough to keep pac in the fight for all twelve..i really dont think thats how freddie roach rolls..i dont know any trainer who is like that
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Freddie roach is the most overrated trainer out there. he couldn;t even think of a plan to beat a 38 year old marquez.
Bums? Cotto, Margarito, Clottey...BUMS!!
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 i respect mayweather love that dudes skill his defense is crazzyyy good and im also a huge pacquiao fan but you cant doubt pacquiao and his camp completely...pac wont be that easy to stop..but not saying hes gonna win
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Roach will throw in the towel to save pac's life.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Floyd wil punsih pac with a body attack. Pac has been KO'd before to the body. Flody will take away his legs and he will be a sitting duck.
Remember where you heard it first.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 lol who has mayweather fought??? that actually had talent...clottey would beat the living hell out of floyd mayweather..lol clottey probably coulda owned pacquiao too if he actually tried..and you said ko'd to the body before please understand that thats the past within pacs last ten fights has that happend kod to the bodY?
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Teh only decent fghter pac has fought in last 10 fights is Marquez an did believe Marquez has won every time they fought.
If you think Joshua Clottey would beat Flody Mayweather you really hav enot been paying attention.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 pac has grown tremendously over the years and pacquiao will not lose that easily mayweather definetly wont go down that easily i respect your opinion dude..but no one knows what will happen
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Before the second Marquez fight Roach said pac has grown and learned alot and would dominate Marquez. It didn't happen, Pac looked worse.
Then after the 2nd fight pac has fought a string of face first defenseless fighters and cherrypicks.
Roach said Pac has improved and would KO Marquez. Pac looked even worse than the first two fights.
Where is all this improvement?
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 Tupac?
OneManDreaming 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Pac was beaten up by a 38 year old counterpuncher who was bitchslapped by floyd 2 years ago.
Flody is bigger an dstronge rthan Marquez with a 6" reach advantage and 3" height advantage. Add on floyd's speed and skill and pac does not stand a chance.
Easy win, that is why Arum has been hiding pac from floyd.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 um well you didnt answer my question who has floyd beaten that actually had talent? lol and pacquiao has improved since he fought erik morales and lost the first time ever since then hes just been getting better..mayweather has never fought anyone that you can actually say is a talented boxer..also your baseing pacquiao off of this one fight...okay and yes i do beleive arum is hiding pac but pacs not hiding himself..pacquiao is gonna be the only boxer that is...
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 How has Pacquaio improved? He looked bad against Marquez in fight 1 and he looked just as bad in fight 3.
You also need to realize Morales was coming off a loss every time he fought Pac and in the second fight nobody mentions that Morales had lost to Zahir Raheem a few months earlier.
Just becaus Pac did well against a bunch of face first defenseless fighters in between does not mean he has improved. The only thing that improved was Roach's ability to cherrypick.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 actually able to match up to floyd..not one boxer that floyd went against could out match him no one was close to his level which is why hes undefeated if he faced mosely in his prime mosely would dismantle that fool same for pacquiao if he went against mosely..
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 When was Mosley's prime? Was it when he was using EPO to beat Oscar? Mosley's whole career has a huge "?" due to his drug use.
How can Pac mearuse up against Floyd when he barely measures up against Marquez?
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 I will say it again and i want you to write it down....
Floyd Mayweather will end pac's career in the biggest overhyped mismatch in boxing history.
Remember where you heard it first.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Midnightrambler3760 dude im just gonna say this your just being very opinionated and i feel you just really hate pacquiao and his camp for some reason seems like you dont have any respect for em...cause to say that pacquiao will get owned or mayweather will get owned is just ignorant we have no idea what could happen ITS THE 2 BEST POUND FOR POUND FIGHTERS...but i respect you dude i understand everything your saying were both just on COMPLETELY different views....that is all
Ninjaballa121 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 Just because they are considered the 2 best fighters does not mean a fight between them will be a good fight.
When Secretariat won the tripel crown the same horse finished 2nd every race...where the races close?
Was the guy who finished 2nd to Usain Bolt at the olympics even close?
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 When Flody moved up to WW he took on teh WW champ Baldomir at full WW. No Catchweight required. Floyd was outweighed by 15 lbs in the ring.
Floyd fought Oscar at full JMW and was outweighed by 17 lbs in the ring.
Floyd's WW and JMW titles are real, pac's are fake.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 On the contrary, saying Floyd will dominate Pac is not ignorant. In fact it is extremely accurate as you will eventually see.
Maybe then you will understand what a person who knows boxing and has been in the ring sees compared to someone who has not.
The fact is... Floyd outclasses pac in every aspect of the sport. Pac's style and size match perfectly for floyd.
If Arum is wise he will keep pac miles away from Floyd.
Midnightrambler3760 2 months ago
@Ninjaballa121 I just don;t see how a guy who cannot handle Marquez's counterpunching is expected to handle Floyd who is an even better counterpuncher than Marquez and has an additionl 6" in reach.
There is no strategy pac can come up with, he is overmatched and outclassed.
I wish I could watch the fight with you.
