SodaStream is one of those things that seemed a really cool idea when you were a kid- doubly so if like me you rarely got fizzy drinks.

But I remember when I had them at other peoples' houses they were never really that great- the bubbles were too big and they just weren't as good as real fizzy drinks... yet I still kind of wanted one.

Apparently they've relaunched them for the "grown-up" market, which smacks of that naff (failed) relaunch of Babycham in the 90s to be more sophisticated.

Be honest. You put a bottle with the syrup already in and then "fizzed" it...which had a reaction like nuclear fission. After that, the top got sticky and all bottles stuck :-)

I used to like Sodastream and used one a lot from early 80s up to 1990 . Then it went wrong and I didnt bother with it for years. Decided to go back to using one in 2004 , got a new one + lots of flavours but found that all the flavours have a same , strange taste to them which they didnt used to have .  Theyve done something to the recipe / put something in it . Its just not the same any more . Wish it was.

The old lady at the end is Lucy Griffiths who had small parts in many films in the fifties and sixties (again mostly comedy).

Yea, My friends dad had one from the '90'swe tried some (With the new flavoring) and it tasted like shit because the gasses in the alco2jets were a bit strong. Recently, we brought the Sodastream v3 and it tastes a lot better. Yes, bleach would have tasted better than the old sodastream shit!
