nice! the gobots were poor man's transformers and they cost way less and you could buy a whole bunch them for the price of a large transformer. I was always a transformers fan boy and i bought taiwanese knockoffs and stick autobot or deception sticker on them when i couldn't get a real transformer. the gobots had taiwanese knockoffs too, the real ones used metal while the knockoffs used mostly plastics. my brother and i always raged war between my transformers and his gobots when we were kids.

gobots came out in 1983 and ended in 1987 and the first transformers came out in september 17, 1984. so look it up gobots didn't rip off transformers the show came out a year before transformers did. gobots just happen to suck and transfomers was great.

both Gobots and Transformers are originally Japanese toy lines.

Everyone, Go-Bots cartoon were based from the Machine Robo series in Japan but was made by Hanna-Barbera.

Personally, it was nice but still pales in comparison to Transformers since its story lines is not as developed as the latter was.

Machine Robo itself later had a spin-off series in the last decade - Machine Robo Rescue.

GoBots came first but the Transformers were superior in just about every way, shape, and form. Transformers had the better cartoon (better voice acting, animation, storylines) and they had a much better action figure line (Transformers toys were much larger, more complex and varied in size while the GoBots were all cheap little 3 dollar men) Its amazing how just because something is original, doesn't necessarily make it better.
