Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for posting a vid from this production! Of course I was drawn here 'cause of Erwin, I mean he is a feast for the senses, but this is awesome opera!
Cool, plant-litter sex! But why then does Donna Anna sing later on "now you know who sought to steal my honor blah blah" if she literally rolled in the hay with Don Giovanni in the very begging, huh? No sense of logic! She should've at least played hard to get!
Why is it that singers nowaday are cast by their looks rather than their voice? Don't get me wrong, Don Giovanni doesn't sing bad - he's just nothing special. But he has a sixpack..
I can't get enough of this song. Maltman has such a buff physique. I like Erwin better though, he is better looking and and totally has a better voice. He's so sweet in this production.
is there any way upi can post the dorothea roschmann scenes again? they were on youtube before but I can't find them anymore. I think they were taken down by the site.
Am I the only one who is bothered by the fact that Schrott sings sharp a lot? To be sure a large number of fine singers sang sharp on occasion, but it is throughout his voice. It points to pushing and that is a problem.
Christopher Maltman ist götlich!!! was für nen geilen körper!!! und seine stimme ist einfach super!!! endlich ein glaubwürdiger don giovanni auf der bühne.
Great characterization and singing from Schrott. The set is awesome. That said, WTF? I've accepted that maybe Donna Anna wasn't raped - maybe she did consent, but if she knows WHO it was from the beginning, this opera basically has no point.
No, in this production, the Commendatore has survived. That`s the joke of this production:
Donna Anna goes killing herselves (sorry, I`m from Switzerland) because she can not love the man who killed her father, but her father is alive. It`s cruel...

E' un Don Giovanni con degli interpreti bravissimi e una regia un pò spinta ma davvero molto bella.

I hear it too. but, his interpretation is great. That`s not new, that he sings most of the time incorrect.

Great Idea! Unity of the place (forest); and an Anti-Midsummernight's Dream!

Love this video.
Love Schrott's Leporello in general, but I think in this case in particular, his acting has added a whole new background to the character.
No wonder he got outstanding reviews about this production's Leporello.

And the Commandatore dies after he gets hit with a stick, but Don Giovanni lives a whole opera with a bullet in his stomach?
