My big question is if you browse the internet and get a virus in this virtual machine does this go away when i close my window. as in can i not get a virus on my computer.

I tried installing Ubuntu once, but I had too little ram. :P. Now I have two gigs, and I hope that running Ubuntu now, I won't have too much trouble. I think that using oh say...768 megs, I should have decent performance on both VirtualBox and Windows. All of this acts as a regular program? so I can have my main OS be Windows XP and run Ubutu (Linux) as a program? does it affect my normal OS in any way? how would I go about deleting it if I didn't want it anymore?

very nice video! I can definitely make it into a good use. Besides using it to show other people the process of installation, any other good reason you might think people use it? I am thinking maybe to test out new programs but the thing is if you shut down your PC, the virtual PC is gone right? or you can save it for later use? Thank you so much!

Alex feinmans website hasnt been updated since 12/1/2004 its not possible its compatible with vista and when i opened the site i found TRJ.herustic.[PE] i then proceeded to download the file for 64bit vista and then ran a scan with virustotal not much found in the 2 files i ran the iso recorder installer and then i couldnt delete the alex feinman folder so i opened malware bytes anti malware and removed the files using file ASSASSIN and it removed succesfully all is well at the moment scanningpc

yes it is like any file you just need a software to open it such as deamon tools or poweriso to run or mount it to a nother drive

Nevermind, Lol, Sorry, I didn't burn it. What I had meant to say was that I had gotton the iso image for xp home edition. It didn't work, but everything is fine now. :)

I got the 98 SE .iso image from my 98 SE CD, still NOTHING works. I am getting VERY mad at this thing and ima bout to chuck my puter out the window, the ISO Program didn't even install and it lied and said it did, I went to look for it, NO folder in my start menu (I'm on vista) I even looked in my Programs & Features in the Control Panel, Wasnt there

On my pc I have a legal version of Windows XP Home and Ubuntu 8.04. I want to make it so that I can run my old xp account in Ubuntu to access certain programs.

In your video you setup a new copy of xp, is it possible to do this with an existing xp setup ?

microsoft made a virtual pc its also like virutual box and vistas work 32 and 64 :D i have 32 so i dont really know if 64 works but 32 works for me,even though it says not compatible it still works lol!

i have xp pro x64 and the 64 bit version works fine. my only complaint is that the 64 bit version just contains special drivers to run in 32 bit mode just like the normal 32 bit version, so theres not much performance boost

1. when you create a snapshot of your virtual machine, does it make a copy of the virtual machine file which takes up the same amount of hard disk space on your host, or does the snapshot not take up the same amount of space?

2 When you are not running the virtual machine, does your host pc have the original amount of its RAM before the VM was created restored to it? thanx.

its totally different to your machine, take a snapshot of it when its working, and u can mess about with it how you like, then if it ruins the VM you can revert back to the snapshot and its fully functional.

It doesnt affect your PC at all
