Victory Hammer motorcycle ride

are these things any good at long distance riding? cos I'm looking at one of these, plus I also want it to be able to accelerate quickly enough to keep up with my friends japanese 600 sport bikes, can it do this?

@badman2504 I did 750 miles in a day with no problem. As far as accelerating like a 600 sport bike yes and no. It will pull harder off the line than a 600 ever will but once you hit around 100mph the Hammer won't keep pulling as fast as the 600 will. It will do 140mph but it takes a bit of road to get there.

i beleive my night train is only goos for 100-105, but i didnt buy it for the spped, ive got a 2008 busa for that, but i do know that the gauges on that victory look cheap as all hell, they look like the gauges on a kids fisher price power wheel lol

They (Victory) are throwing a 5 year warranty at you that you are paying for in their cost structure. Nothing is free.

Someone would have to have put on 100,000 miles a year to get a Victory up to 1,000,000 miles by now you idiot.

They can offer a 5 year warranty because they have one of the lowest failure rates of any motorcycle manufacturer which means you are paying for quality not an expensive badge.

Yep, that's true. The better the Warranty, the better the bike usually is. not only that but when you buy a Victory, they also hook you up and are extremely generous.

I never buy a bike buy it's full price, I always negotiate and damn they hooked me up solid. I got a free leather jacket, stage 1 exhaust because the quiet exhaust sucked, Helmet, and gloves, and a back seat.

I don't think Victory offers a 5 year warranty. I just came from their website. I checked the specs. They offer a 1 year warranty. I wish they offered the option of buying a 5 year warranty plan but at this point it appears they don't. If you do a search using the keywords "Victory transmission problems" you'll find some data on that subject. Don't get me wrong, I like Vics, I'm just reporting what I read.

@IFightGangs The transmission problems were in the old 1999-2002 model years and it caused 3rd gear to fail. There have been limited (2 that I can find) numbers of newer models with transmission failures but those also occur in Harleys, BMWs. and all the Jap bikes.

I have a 2009 Hammer. It's a great bike. Very fast and very stable. High ground clearance means it can be leaned way over in a curve. I have nothing against Harleys, they are fine bikes. However, when a Victory is around, it is the one that gets noticed and the complements. This really irritates some Harley riders but that's the way it is.

I watched about 100 videos of HD bikes and they all ride like the old dumb fucks they are-prolly why they afraid of anything else that may go too fast!! nice, i rented a harley to check it out, a road king.....at 75 the the pushrod/cam/rocker arms were rapping so bad it sounded like it was going to blow..what a disapointment..I'll take the 4V OHC. far superior...
