since you believe the sabbath isn't on Sunday, then you're not even Christian to begin with. and you're in no position to tell me how to live my faith.
"2When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, "Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath." 3He answered, "..... haven't you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the day and yet are innocent? I tell you that one[a] greater than the temple is here. If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
superiorgreen, if you don't like Catholicism why even bother posting on a Catholic thread here? tell me, if the Catholic Church is so evil, then why has the Church condemned birth control, abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia and so forth? how can the Catholic Church possibly be the great harlot? you are seriously deluded.
Law that Condemns? The Law Paul calles death by sin in Romans, because it condemns the sinner? The leaven of the pharisee and sadicee have perverted docrine exactly as Christ himself predicted would happen. Read Your Bible! Your Church is a star, literally the light bearer, a mocking of the work Christ did on the cross and reversion to the old Jewish law Jesus died to fulfill. The Catholic Church, disbelieving in Christ, believes it must go back to the law to be right with GOD, as the Jews did.
then using your logic we might as well do away with the ten commandments. afterall, you say "the law Paul calles death by sin in Romans, because it condemns the sinner". you're not making any sense.
Excuse me, I'll clarify. ....... The same Law, Paul calles death by sin in Romans, condemns the sinner.
I like the new one that says Anglicans can now be part of the body now. Obviously the Vatican was wrong before, or they would not have changed it. The pope makes laws that divide the body of Christ? If there is only one truth, then we need to look to scripture, to discern.
Paul says Test all things, and hold fast to that which is good. Can't find where the pope is in scripture so .....
Also, the ordinariates will overlap the boundaries of Catholic and Anglican dioceses, such that a person can join this movement even if his/her rightful Anglican diocese is not doing so.
Jesus and Paul specifically explain why and how the Ten Commandments stand. Again read Romans, and Hebrews to understand how the LAW was 100% fulfilled on the cross.
Since you are a Christian you should know your bible. I respect all GOD Law, not by rule, as the jews and Catholics do out of force, but because I love GOD more than any other. I want to please him, law is for those that don't.
If you follow LAW, why do you not offer burnt sacrifices? It carries the same weight as the Sabbath.
Your right I don't know how to spell. But I do know quite a bit about the blasphemies of the (modern) Catholic Church, as would any that look for truth. 4500 cases of pedophelia and rape by the priests were exposed just a few years ago, in America. The percentages were the same across America, an epidemic of perversion. Ratzinger was the man personally responsible for preventing the abuses, then concealing the truth when he became fully aware of the severity. Very few cases saw justice.
Imagine having your spiritual leader rape you, then telling the church, and you getting in trouble ...... it happened every time the victim exposed TRUTH to the public, they were banned from the church. Ratzinger, a nazi youth, was the man that oversaw priest abuse from the early 1970's until 2005. He gave decree to Every bishop IN LATIN, that all sexual abuse should be investigated and kept secret in the church. The punishment for raping a kid ...... secret reassignment to a new Dioces.

I wonder how many of those nativity scenes are slopped with Pagan roots. Christmas in Rome more universal? The Catholic Church conforms to the world, not conforms to Christ alone. Are we to make images of Christ, when we have no idea what he really looked like? What if the nativity scene differs in detail from the real scene, is it still real or a deceptive fake? Am I saved by Nativity scenes or by faith IN Jesus? Since idolatry does not save my soul, I'll avoid making a false image of Christ.
Nobody will be saved by Nativity scenes, obviously! But our Savior is "the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation" (Colossians 1:15). God is vivible in Jesus! No matters what he really looks like, it's important to remember that our Savior was a real child, flesh and bones, really visible, and Nativity scenes can simply help us to remember that. What we see is not Jesus, but helps us to see Jesus in prayer, with the eyes of faith. We don't pray statues, but who represent.
Did you notice those made by children? Are they somehow subverting the Gospels by creating The Nativity using pasta!? If God has caused His creation to have variety, do you you really think He wouldnt suffer these heartfelt renditions of the birth of His Son as something wonderful and loving and pleasing to Him? Our Lord didn't lay His life down so that we would suspend the faculty of reason He gave us. A little perspective is needed here.
Please tell me where in the Bible I am to worship Mary during the pagan winter solstice? The bible is VERY clear about not making statues and images, but has no validation for nativity scenes in every language. Babel and distortion. Period, whatever color you put on it!
I'll answer your question right after you provide the answer of where Sacred Scripture holds it's place in the deposit of faith given to the Church by Christ. Certainly The Bible provides clarity on the issue at hand, I don't however, feel your personal interpretation does though, given the criticism you've provided .
The bible is clear about the catholic church. Christ warned us to beware the doctrine of the Pharisee, the return to the religious law, that he would die to fulfill. You do not believed you are saved, so you must return to your temple, and have a man forgive you right after you perform several rituals. If you need the Church, why did Christ die on the cross? He only completed 75% of your salvation and the church will do the rest? The formation of the church in Acts, was to spread word, not law.
So you're not going to answer my question concerning the importance of The Bible in the deposit of faith then? Do you even know what I'm referencing? You state The Bible is clear about The Catholic Church...Two questions then: What is your definition of clarity? Where in The Bible does the term Catholic Church clearly support what you claim it supports?
@supeiorgreen, You should also look up the term "Gnosticism". Personal interpretation of Sacred Scripture can be a potentially very dangerous exercise. To say nothing of using your private interpretation as a means of teaching others incorrectly.
Who are these men that the living word of GOD, Jesus, speaks to them more sacred information than you? LIES. Is the bible such a difficult read that you need to ask another man what GOD is saying to you in HIS LIVING WORD? Please "interpret" why your sabbath is on "SUN"day? Please tell me where I need a Saducee or Pharisee (priest) to recieve Christ and be saved? Where in ACTS does it say to build sacred temples of riches, join Ceasar, make new LAW, revere statues, or follow a carnal Pope?
A number of running assumptions and misnomers seem to fuel a need to correct others, from your own personal religious legalism. If that's not the heart of a Pharisee, what is? It was Christ who said, "the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath" (Mk.2:27). In fact your criticism was the same leveled at Christ by the Pharisees. Verses on Christian obligation: Col2:16; Gal 4 9-10; Rom., 16: 5 Concerning Acts 20:7 "On the first day of the week we came together ..."
I am 110% Saved Christian, so how could I "attack" another Christian for a pagan holiday that has been combined with Jesus? Are you not aware of what the bible says about false teachings that are opposed to scripture. If you want to celebrate a pagan holiday, please leave Jesus out of it.
@superiorgreen, Well for starters, the fact that you occasion discontent and disunity on a YT video that is entirely benevolent and then presume to have authority on matters that you demonstrably don't. Matter of fact, how do you know, here and now in the 20th century, that the New Testament you read and quote is in fact accurate, authoritative and Heaven sent as it were?
I am Christian, not Mormon or Jehovah's witness. I read the same book of Matt, Romans, and Revelations that all Catholics do. If they read the bible. If it were inaccurate that would be the Catholic Church's fault. The agreed upon benchmark for the bible is the 1611 KJV, which was translated from the earliest texts available. We have a greek/aramaic translations. By Coincidence(?) the New Testament we read has been validated, as accurately translated, by the scrolls at Qumran.
@superiorgreen, "The agreed upon benchmark for the bible is the 1611 KJV," ? Uh...Huh!? My point was this...When you or I or any person select verses from Sacred Scripture we defer to the authority of God as invested specifically into the deposit of faith in The Catholic Church. Canon was selected and approved in the Catholic Church and not some southern bayou Baptist's church 50 years ago. So, any absurd accusations of "inaccuracies" and interpretation really is lunatic fringe.
Not the KJV for you? Sorry, I don't read the Koran. "Take heed that no one decieves you. For many will come in my name .... and will decieve MANY." Matt 24:3-5 , Now please tell me who the pope is, and what scripture gives him authority to rule as the head of the body of Christ. By your words I see you are a sleeper. READ YOUR BIBLE! The Catholic Church WILL play a major role, you are warned. 2 Cor 11:3-4 & 11:13-15, Matt 24, Mark 13:5-6, Luke 21:7-8, Luke 21:7-8, 2 Thes 2:1-15, Rev 13
@superiorgreen, Are you insane!? I'm Christian, as all Catholics are in The Catholic Church, officially titled, The Church of Christ, from which you quote OUR Scripture. Whatever rant you've emptied into, it is absolute nonsense to occasion hatred towards the Church that provides all with the means to quote Sacred Scripture. You have several points still to answer for directly, to say nothing of the apology you owe Catholics coming here to enjoy it for it's own sake.
you know it's funny. the word trinity is not in the bible. the word communion isn't in the bible either. interesting. do you need to look to the bible to tie your shoes? i don't think so.
Funny how the Catholic Church gave sermons in Latin tongue, when the people did not speak Latin, and the bible is very clear about tongues in Church. Funny how the Catholic Church did not teach men to read scripture, but kept GODs living word as a tool to control the population and institute new religious LAW, funny how the Roman Empire lived on in a Christian body, not funny how the Catholic Church has murdered more people than all the tyrants in history in Christ's name. You scoff at the WORD?
April 26, 1933 Hitler had a conversation with Bishop Berning and Monsignor Steinmann, the Catholic leadership in Germany. The subject was the common fight against liberalism, Socialism and Bolshevism, discussed in the friendliest terms. In the course of the conversation Hitler said that he was only doing to the Jews what the church had done to them over the past fifteen hundred years. The prelates did not contradict him."
Conquistadores, Inquisition, and The Crusades are famous examples
I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so. Hitler
"I learned much from the Order of the Jesuits. Until now, there has never been anything more grandiose, on the earth, than the hierarchical organization of the Catholic church. I transferred much of this organization into my own party." Hitler
"The Third Reich is the first world power which not only acknowledges but also puts into practice the high principles of the papacy." The Concordat betwwen Vatican and Nazis.
The Catholic Church, a spiritual body of Christ, made a treaty with Hitler? Did Christ try to make a deal with Ceasar, knowing Ceasar will persecute him? Does Jesus tell us to make deals with the forces of Satan, if we become afraid that GOD will not protect us? What is FAITH IN JESUS? Fear of that which seeks to destroy this body because we love Christ? By the Catholic Church's fruits, not it's words, do we know it. A man makes the rules for GOD on earth, a man that was a Nazi youth.
membership in the Nazi youth group did not make Joseph Ratzinger a nazi. Get the fact through your closed mind. The treaty with Hitler was intended to protect the rights of Catholics with the intention of saving the Jews from the Nazis. And using your logic we shouldn't be sitting on a table with a bunch of sinners on it.
The pope didn't have an army like Hitler did. the Pope doesn't have mind control. amazing how you think the Catholic Church could somehow wave a magic wand and everything automaticly gets better. and by the way, not even the holocaust memorial in Israel calls Ratzinger a Nazi.
by the way, the German Bishops in 1933 excommunicated anyone involved in the Nazi regime and they were also barred from the communion. check your facts next time.
There was a reason behind the religious twist of Nazi Germany, dedicated to killing Jews and protestants specifically. Turns out Hitler had no Buddhist or Muslim roots, but came from the Catholic Faith. Roman in ideology, the Catholic church believes it can make the world the way it wants with civil law. The more laws it passes the more the world can see it's hypocrisy, as Christs spirit cannot be found in LAW. The Romans believed in the rule of law as a means to righteous society, Christ didnt
Hitler wasn't a practicing Catholic and wasn't of the Catholic church's jurisdiction. your ignorance is showing yet again superiorgreen. again, provide proofs for your claims or your nothing but a liar.
I can tell you that the communists killed over 200 million people my friend. and the Church left it up to the state on how to deal with the heretics. furthermore, the crusades were intended to safeguard Christian sites. Your ignorance is showing.
The inquisition killed heretics (everybody not Catholic), even Christians that rejected the pope and his mistresses, for OVER 600 years, with the same power to do evil that any nation has ever had. It is famous for directly killing tens of millions of "sinners". Christ did not come to be the messiah by sword as the jews expected, for a reason. He came to SAVE the jews and the gentiles. Killing "gentiles" does not really sound like "saved". Who does this Church that kills represent? Not Jesus
you sound a lot like you've been listening to Jack Chick tracts. the catholic Church condemns the killing of people. you haven't provided any evidence to back up your proofs.
605 years of the inquisition, the darkest times in ALL human history. Imagine the church with all it's resources and wealth, killing the unbeliever. Is that what Jesus tells you to do? Please show me scripture that says you should burn a non-believer alive. Please do tell me where it says I can give money to The Church and be forgiven by the Church for sin. For a thousand years, you could buy your way out of sin, being forgiven as long as you pay. Christian?
Dear superiorgreen, I hear your heartache / bitterness. Man can't be perfect and will always let you down. There is only one way sin can be forgiven. Everything we need to know about God and His Son is in the Holy Scriptures. All done by the Catholic Church, God sees. One day they have to answer for it. Pray for people hurt, and that it won't happen again. I'm Christian, not Catholic. I also know God wants us all to have love not bitterness in our hearts no matter what. Bless you.

Christian?
By her fruits you shall know her.

Bless you.
