When Fonda says "She never played safe" that's what makes Bette Davis the GREATEST 'cause she wasn't afraid of play any character! And she could do any genre. Viva la Bette!!!!! Love her :)
I think that Bette very often showed herself in her movies rather than the person she should portray. For example, as Elizabeth I or Judith Traherne. But she really had guts and had this special personality and that is why I love her so.
Bette was a gem, a true legend, I loved her dearly. She was different from other actresses before because she could act the roles leading ladies couldn't bear to act. She was the GREATEST actress in Hollywood.
I Dont Know If There Is Any Other 'All About Eve' Obsessive Fans Out There. I Am One And Could Tell You Recite It Word For Word. Sad But True. I Was Wondering If Anyone Understood The Part When Bill Is Shouting His Mouth Of At Eve, At The Beginning, When She Asks About His Moving To Hollywood? Ive Watched It So Many Times But Have No Idea What Hes Going On About. Anybody That Can Help Me?
Bette was F A S C I N A T I N G!!

I think he's just tired of the theater and that what he understood from EVE-IL's question is that she wants him to not go at all!
