  • zz top copy cat

  • Nice strato

  • Forget your zz's and your canned meat, this is the one only Johan lee hooker, this man is the dogs......¡¡

  • @mrioh : Totally agree. This is a John Lee Hooker riff, not ZZ Top's. ZZ Top "borrowed" it from JLH, I guess.

  • @Dogheadj John Lee Hooker more than likely also borrowed it.

  • this is a great little lesson that's WAY more beneficial than just learning to play that "boogie" sound....it's also a very clear and obvious way to get a student used to working the up-strum; something that eludes a lot of beginners, but opens HUGE doors for playing in the future.

i commend you, sir. :) nice lesson

  • great

  • Playing guitar is like alot like SEX you do UP DOWN UP DOWN PUSH AND PULL HAMMER ON PULL OFF. SLIDE IN SLIDE OUT and so on :)

  • Yes, I was just about to say see "Fried Hockey Boogie" from Canned Heat for fuzz guitar version. Very 60's. In fact, if you are looking into blues guitar, you would do well to check out all of Canned Heats recordings.

  • Wow. Instant Canned Heat !!

  • Whole lotta Rosie ^^

  • Tab for this, pleeeeeeeeease GOD!

  • Sounds Like ZZ Top, And The Rolling Stone Casino Boogie. Nice

  • maybe im just dumb but i would have liked it explained a bit slower. gah. idk. i hafta go back to catch what he said while im trying to figure out earlier stuff. grr. im prolly just slow. great song tho.

  • Try your best to use your ear's...

Doesn't matter how many times you need to work over it. He is playing open strings, and pretty slow...

This is the practise you want... Enjoy :)

  • thats is la grange from zz top

  • sounds like la grange.

  • definitely rings a few bells.

  • @EddieHunter92 John Lee Hooker's 'Boogie Chillun'

  • right out of Exile on Main Street

    nice thanks

  • Great easy riff, well explained, cheers

  • i cant get the barred chord to sound like that. are u muting the strings with ur palm? and are u going up and down on all 4 strings or hitting the 5th string individually?

  • Yes you are right.I am muting the strings with my right palm. Remember the 5th string is an open A. Thanks John

  • you call that easy? i can't even make out what you are doing. definately for somewhat advanced players. the term "easy" is used a lot i have noticed to describe guitar playing.

  • Great playing but the easy syndrome has took me, if you say its easy I cannot even make it out, is it Hooker or ZZ Top, would love to pick this stuff up but it so illudes, frustrating or what?

  • How 'bout John Lee Hooker? :) The Boogie Man. It's all good. Great vids.
