@awayger Septimus Severus was more likely of Phoenician descent as he came from Leptis Magna a Carthaginian founded city. Most the berbers lived more to the south, in opposition to the roman empire rather than live in the cities.

no the punic only lived in the city of qart-hadash and there where not with allot of people, according to some DNA-studies done on corpses from those times about 90% of the carthaginians on mainland africa where berbers, the city hadramentum and lepcis magna had no punic population but berbers and some jewsih setllers.

most of the berbers who perserved their amazigh/berber identity, live in the mountain area's and didn't mix a lott with other people, but the berbers who stayed on the flath lands mixed with the invaders, especially in tunisia and libya.
but you are right allot of us mixed with other nations but i don't see that as a problem.

@awayger I just wanted to rebut the statement about Berbers being white, they indeed were, today as a whole the Berbers are not a white people. But of course there are white Berbers left to this day, just as there are white Kurds and whatnot.

look brother if you are a amazigh and black, i ask you from what region of north africa do you come, if you are from southern morocco or algeria then your ancestor probably married a woman from mali or senegal, no problem at all.
whe imazighen are one front, whe are already light skinned before arabs excisted, look at the egyptian paintings of the libu and the meshwesh (our ancestors)
