  • of course you aren't going to see as many blacks in a KFC. they only make up a small percentage of the population so duh there aren;t going to be as many of them ANYWHERE you go. also they know how to cook it at home 10X better than the fake stuff at KFC. use some common sense people

  • I never understood why people say black people are the ones that eat fried chicken the most... I usually find more of every other racial group in KFC.

  • So you're doing fry-bake, not deep fried. You didn't mix your seasonings in the flour before you tossed the meat in, why? Why do you use bake to hit the internal temp instead of just frying at the right temp? Why didn't you do double-dip? Is this a recipe for fried chicken or what? Shake 'n Bake?

    The outcome won't be the same, buttermilk is acidic and breaks down the protein in the chicken making it juicy. What you can do is a brine and soak for 2-4 hrs up to overnight in the fridge. A brine is water, reg salt put into a bowl with the chicken submerged. Make sure to keep in fridge until ready to use.

  • @missgoddessoflove i also use a little white vinegar in the brine to release the blood... i from la. we use this method w/pork chop, either to fry or bake or make w/sauce.

  • my way taste better >.> if ya like the way it sounds try if ya dont, dont : 1st get a peice of chicken you wana cook. 2nd, put unsweetend pancake mix,( no fruit B.S.) black pepper, meat tenderizer, season salt, and poultry seasoning in a bag :D 3rd put you chicken in a bowl filled with melted butter and cream o.o then keep it there for about 2-4 hours. 4th take your buttery chicken and put it in the bag with your seasonings and shake it for 2 mins. 5th cook to as brown as you want then enjoy :D

  • I put all the cut chicken pieces into the frying pan (about 8 to 10 pieces) with much oil. If I fry only about 4 pieces at a time, the oil will come out and it's too dangerous to get close to the frying pan to even cook. How do I prevent this so I can fry few pieces at a time to make it crispier.

    and pepper to season

    Get a brown paper bag add flour..enough to coat the chicken.. Shake the chicken all around and put it in a cast iron pot. with vegetable oil . Cook until nice golden brown and no longer pink!!!!

    I think Greens in a can are okay but I prefer garden fresh greens and other vegetables.

  • I Never use buttermilk but I have however used Italian dressing to make the flour stick but that depends on your taste preference.

    If you use really hot oil without having to turn the chicken to often you shouldn't have a problem with the coating staying on.

  • @MaliciousMarissa I agree for the most part. I like Popeye's spicy chicken more than any chicken I ever tasted. But I would prefer KFC or somewhere if I have to eat mild. Popeye's mild just doesn't have as much flavor as their spicy. As for the video, he didn't have to season the flour just because he used buttermilk. He could have seasoned the chiken after he let it sit out of the buttermilk and it would still be under the flour

Home cooking is less safe than when a chef cooks, as the cook wears a clean uniform that they only wear when they cook. The good thing about his specific uniform is that he can easily see any flour that goes onto him so it's perfect. If you are going to comment on what chefs wear then maybe you should do some research into food health and safety regulations. Chefs don't wear the uniforms just because it looks good.

  • You CAN season the chickin before flouring. You season the buttermilk. I season my buttermilk with hot sauce salt, pepper, cayenne and garlic powder. Let chicken soak for 2 hours.

  • What happened to the nutmeg? It may sound wierd but mmm- try adding it to the breading mix - and ya gotta parboil the chick and then coat and deep fry...at least from what I was taught - if you are using a batter type coating. Straight fried chicken may not need the parboiling.

  • buttermilk is pretty much a "soured"milk. if you want to make some at home you can put a small amout of vinegar into regular whole milk and let it set for a bit.

  • Regular milk is not as viscous as buttermilk which effects how well the flour will adhere. Also, milk doesn't have the same tangy quality. If you don't like buttermilk you would be be better off making a brine. Soak the chicken in that for flavor/moisture, then rinse well and dip them in milk.

  • I have traveled the world and outside some vegetarians in India and a few other places, I have yet to find people who don't like fried chicken. That is why a chain like KFC has been so successful. And they don't even make great fried chicken either.
