  • Yes it does. The unit was used by myself and my wife in the 60's as the post below indicates. I never replaced to bulb or either of the valves during the time we owned it.

    I doubt if any of the modern audio equipment will still be working in 50 years time! We were so pleased when the unit was sold to a 60's fan and that raised so much money for the Sue Ryder Charity .

  • It looks like the Dansette logo on the front lights up, does it? That's quite an impressive record player, but being a child of the 80's I'm far too young to appreciate it for its age.

  • Glad this brought back happy memories for you. My girlfriend and I used to listen to music in her Mum and Dad's tiny kitchen. We got married in 67 and are still going strong after 43 years! This record player just sold on eBay for 70ukps. The profit after selling cost is going to a UK charity called the Sue Ryder Trust. My daughter in law ran the London Marathon for this charity and it will bring her final total to 2K ukps.
