Fabulous for sure!! Very well done indeed! So gleaming... I´m not sure if this same pattern for an American Texan is one of the painting options for Academy´s kit, but being the decals from that trademark so awful in general, I think I won´t run the risk of buying Academy´s 1/72 T-6. Talking on the 1/72 scale, after such a long time building 1/48 models, I left temporarily in stand-by my 1/48 Ki-46 Dinah just to restore and repaint another, old 1/72 Dinah, of which I may upload some video.
@2002And Nope.. I have my Stuka to finish first, and another 'secret' project.. a small 'what if' that I just fancied doing all out the blue and for no reason at all, more than just wanting to do it.. :)
ps have you check out my new website, if not check it out bud, post some of your stuff its pretty sweet, i need some more members, the video to it is in my profile!
Let me correct you on one point: You CAN'T have 'way too many' decals... :) What's left over goes in the spares, and one day you will be grateful you saved them.. :) Hm.. what happened to 'take your time'?? :) Never mind, the end result is quite beautiful, I can well understand why you chose that colour scheme.. I REALLY want to get going on mine now, but I need to finish the Helldiver abd Stuka first, and cram in another Spitfire or two as well, in time for the show in May.. so we'll see!? :)
@MrFlix76 The show at the RAF Museum, Hendon on the 22nd of May.. If you can get there I strongly recommend it, it's a good show with a lot of very nice models on display, plenty of dealers to buy kits and accessories from.. and if you get tired of looking at models there's always the real planes to look at.. :)
@MrFlix76 Airfix has issued the same kit, and failing that you can always try and get the Heller original boxing.. :) But Revell has the best decals, apart from the Airfix Swedish option which is my personal favourite.. :)
@tankman13p66 Yes, the engine cowl was rubbish :( I can't work out why Revell made it in two halves!?? The wing joint was pretty poor too :( I tried my best, but I sort of rushed this kit a bit :(
@BasicModelling I see. So Revell wouldn't have done it if they created this kit, probably (if I'm right in saying your talking about the engine cowl?) :)
@2002And There's no knowing what Revell would have done, had they designed the kit.. but if the kit had been designed now I guess the cowl would have been in one piece.. :)
@2002And Revell America was founded just after the war (WWII) but Revell Germany and Heller are about equally old, i.e mid-50's or something like that.. The early Revell kits were pretty poor, I bought one of their early P-47 D's once, and it was HORRIBLE.. but whereas Heller makes kits much the same as they have always done, Revell has improved a lot.. :)
@MakingModelsAgain Thanks... yes I used up about 1/16 of my silver Acrylic paint :(
I will not be taking any models with me on holiday, but I will be buying about 5 or 6 there! I'll do an update when I arrive back :) :) I might even do one of the model that I buy there, as you've suggested it :)
@Davidxcat Thank you very much... since that experience with the D.H.2 (which you might have seen the previous video of), I'm sticking to mono-wing from now :)
nice build i have a few american planes to build....have you ever build the Revell 1.48 Spad XIII.....bi-plane......?????? what to do first.

I think the engine is little bit crude but you did a great job on it and I think the join betwwen wings and fuselage isn't that terrible! :) 5****!

@2002And Back in the day when Heller designed this kit they opted for two halves because it was easier to mould thin, most likely..

Very, very nice! A tidy little build you have there!
That yellow plastic sucks - three coats where on grey, one would have probably sufficed!
Enjoy your holiday - taking any kits with you to build...?
