When I hear the lyrics of this song, I cry the majority of times, just to think that he died for me when I didn't deserve it at all, not a bit. I can't understand such a majestic, Royal, powerful, wonderful, supreme and almighty being as my God would do something like that for me... Sometimes I try to think with my insignificant human mind about his love and my mind can't reach that understanding because there's no other love as wonderful as his, so human minds can't understand it.
Jesus is so loving. I tried to look at this in an athiest view but it was difficult. The little glimpse i got to that perspective made me feel overwhelmed. I have always seen the cross as just a symbol. All my life i have known that Jesus died for me. He didn't fight for himself. He was God. Nothing was impossible for him. But to look at it in an athiest view is overwhelming. A human- a man, random man, being beaten, being torn, ...
...having the allusion that he is God, even though he isn't 100% sure. And yet still chooosing to die, for those who were beaten him. Oh my Lord, it is impossible. It's not something any man would choose to do. All this while i've seen it in the idea of "God being man". Nothing is impossible with God so that's why it was possible. But to think of it in an athiest view, gives me an awe for God. How can any athiest look with unbiased eyes at the pictures of Jesus, supposing just a man, dieing...

A man, no instinct of a supernatural being or vision in him, just pure man, allowing the illusion of being God to envelop him even without any proof, to die for this people that are killing him.
