I have to say that this video has been (and still is) my #1 favourite PG video on youtube. A perfect proof, that you don't necessarily need fancy 1080p video material and well-known track in order to make an awesome PG clip. You just need to love what you do and know how to express it..!

Flew for 14 years in Norway. Went for a training course thouugh and they were passionate about safety and airmannship.Risk is up to you.

My star flights is when one can be up for hours and land as soft as a feather.

Had my first lesson today! running and flying 180 feet high off a hill and about 200meters across! Lasted about 2 minutes but was awesome, done it 4 times. Cant wait to pass the course and get my license! Nothing stopping me then!! Hardest part..... Walking back up the hill!!!

hey, I am just wondering if it is possible for a novice to get towed behind a car on the paraglider... I am into extreme sports, never operated a paraglider and have always wanted to tow a paraglider behind my jetski - now I think a car on a field would be better. Is it possible and how difficult would you think it would be to just hover about the ground like maybe 10 feet? Would you have any suggestions as to how to go about this? Thank a lot

First of all, you do know that a fall from even 10 feet high can paralyze you?! Second, towing itself is VERY dangerous if not done by qualified people (even though it does'nt "look" dangerous). You want proof? here it is- this happened a few blocks from where I live. Since youtube does not allow links here I suggest for you to do a google search with "paragliding accident montreal molson".

No videos just news articles. To explain details would take too long to describe. There is a reason why what you are describing has not become popular!!! Flying is already very unforgiving on mistakes and all you are doing is putting youself closer to injury/death- no doubt about that! I think you are just looking for someone to give you permission to go for it! If you really are serious about this go to your local paragliding school/club and ask IN-PERSON!

i am currently learning in annecy this summer, i recommend, 'les passengers du vent' and initiation course costs around 550 euros but by the end of the week you will be able to take off and land from the top take off. If you can do it off a small hill, in theory you can go off from any height in calm conditions! Freddy

How much do these cost? What is a good height to stay at, right above the tree tops/power lines? Is there a back up safety parachute in case something fails? I have been interested in paragliding for a long time. Can you just fly them in the suburbs?

It seems that you have a lot of questions and good ones. You must have been thinking a long time before. It's time to act. Paragliding is not as easy it seems and could be dangerous, that's why long time ago I found a paragliding school for a week lesson. That was the right time to learn. Then, try to find meetings, shcools, clubs, hot flying spot and good sunglasses ;) I hope that you'll find pleasure in this activity. Regards

in germany you gotta be 14 to begin learning it and 16 to get your licence...how the rules in other countries are i dunno but often they are not as hard as in germany...just google around, you'll find some information ;-)

The Netherlands is just the same;) You can do groundhandling at every age and start learning it at your 14th. You have to be 16 for your license.

That's why you take a right decision to learn first... it's not as easy as it seems and may be really dangerous, like on a motorbike always wear your helmet, and never fly alone first. Fly with friends or schools and never do stupid things...

Write ever fly on a book. There are different way of flying, find the easyest first. There is not "good" flying man, there is "old" one ;)

Congratulation, learning will improve your skills and then it's a direct way to pleasure !

@Astrogumball I know how it feels.. But after learning the basics and beginning to understand why & how those accidents happens you build trust to the sport, to your wing and to your piloting skills. Knowing your limits and having a good instuctor reduce the risks dramatically.

I'm doing a Paraglinding school in Italy, and it takes 6 months minimum to take the licence and 1000 euros for the school plus the cost of the paragliding itself... (about 3000 euros with all the accessories..)

but is the best way to enjoy freedom! :)
