Season 8 ended on a sort of cliff hanger but they left it open. He never really settled down so I think THERE WILL BE another season/movie. Just like the bridge in between season 6 and 7, 24 Redemption.
Well just finished watching season 8 and quite how they managed to make 8 series is beyond and how I watched all 8 is even more beyond me. the writing is horrible and predictable the acting is really wooden and forced. All the stories are pretty similar. American is good Muslims are evil. It has the most annoying character the world has ever seen Chloe O'brien (no acting ability) it's a horrible show. the only shining light is Kiefer Sutherland!! PLEASE DON'T MAKE A 9TH SEASON!!

This kind of plot, in order to be successful, would require in-depth storylines, great writers, as well as interesting and well described and talented actors. Fact#2: this show was successful, therefore the requirements above obviously were met. Proving my point and dismissing yours. opinion: Cloe acts her part, and does it well.
@sch3ffs I would also like to add the fact that in seven years 24 recieved 68 nominations for emmy awards and Keifer won one for best lead actor. Next i will add that it produced 194 episodes plus a 2 hour movie redemption. making it one of the longest lasting critically acclaimed action tv series in history. Another fact, is that the show still has 11 million loyal viewers. If it wasnt for the lack of money, the show would not have been canceled. just thought you might want to know some facts.

I agree. Matter of fact, they should've stopped after Season 7 because it was the best one. Season 8 didn't make any sense, and it had too many loose ends. In addition, they're weren't any real villains like The Drazens, Marwan, Bierko, or Dubaku from the early seasons. Plus THEY KILLED MY GIRL RENEE, And President Taylor...no comment. I hope the movie makes up for Season 8 because it ended just like Season 4 if you really think about it.
So many people complained about Season 6's flaws but at least the acting & action overcame the severe corniness.
And yes the villains in S8 just lacked menace. They caused all the other Islamic villains to roll in their grave.

I didnt like in the first half of s8, and although the second half was better, I still think they would have been better off ending it last year. None of it made any sense and what really did it for me when the Russian President was implicated. I mean come on. Should CTU have allowed him to die in the motorcade in Season 5?

LOL, Kiefer is wrong in the beginning. Day 1 was separated by a year and a half to Day 2 and Day 2 was separated by 3 years to Day 3. It's all on the DVD booklets. But I guess Jack fucking Bauer is NEVER wrong so I trust him on that.
Kiefer keeps saying that Day 8 comes VERY closely after Day 7, but they've mentioned a whole bunch of gaps between the season, including Renee's work with the Red Square Syndicate up to 6 years ago, AFTER her work with the FBI.
@Pumpie Renee's work with the Red Square was BEFORE season 7. Watch the episodes again, they said that many times. It's also common sense, since her work with the Red Square was an FBI covert operation, so it should have happened before season 7 because Renee was fired from the FBI after season 7.
They have _NEVER_ explicitly used Season 7 as a pivotal point in the timeline. ." They've been pretty vague with the details and made it sound like her recent depression and violent behaviour (ie; cutting off the Ruskie's thumb) was due to her time in the Red Square Syndicate. But regardless, we can assume there's a continuity error there and just place her time with RSS before Season 7 and attribute her depression to her losing her job.
@Pumpie Watch episode 4 (7 pm-8pm) again. Chloe tells Jack that ''they're bringing in Renee to brief them because she worked UNDERCOVER with the Russian mob 6 years ago''. Jack also asks Chloe if ''that is Renee's UNDERCOVER file''. After a while, Jack tells Renee that he ''knows how the FBI let her go after she almost killed Wilson during the interrogation''. So it's pretty obvious that her time with RSS was before season 7.

Jack dying wouldn't surprise me. Another great show, Prison Break, had its main character die in the very end. So I'm not going to be too surprised if Jack dies.
I just wanted to know why Bond does not always use the silenced pistol. If he already has one, wouldn't he always want to keep it consistent? Same for other shows like 24 when Jack uses it, then not. Is there a reason why they keep switching back and forth between using one and not using a silencer?
@pres917ism Makes a bit more realistic. Silenced weapons are for a closer combat situation. Taking the silencer off increased the range of the pistol. So I'm assuming they did it to hint towards that factor, and not make the show overly cheesy with jack sniping dudes with a silenced pistol.
It isn't Fox...The producer and Kiefer Sutherland themselves determined it was time to end the show. (They can't seem to come up with an idea for Season 9). They may still make a movie though, so I don't think Jack will die. I hate this too. 24 is my absolute favorite!

It sometimes depends on the situation. He takes off the silencer to supress fire, and start poppin' caps off at whoever is shooting at him. If the enemy doesn't hear return fire, they won't retreat and if Jack has to move from cover to cover then that leaves him exposed. He only uses the silencer for solo and stealth stuff.
idk. But law enforcement rarely use silencers. They have no need to conceal the noise like a criminal trying to get away with something would. And I think you can whip around a store a normal gun with no silencer on it more easily. BUT come to think of it he uses it whenever he is sneaking into an area. That's pretty realistic I would say.

The film took 3 nights of my sleep. thumbs up to jack , the producer and the entire team. A lawyer lost a case because of 24hours. simply because, instead of prepare for court, he became addicted to the film. pls producer, never allow Jack to die. I can never get tired of 24.

LOL, Kiefer is wrong in the beginning. Day 1 was separated by a year and a half to Day 2 and Day 2 was separated by 3 years to Day 3. It's all on the DVD booklets. But I guess Jack fucking Bauer is NEVER wrong so I trust him on that.

Kiefer keeps saying that Day 8 comes VERY closely after Day 7, but they've mentioned a whole bunch of gaps between the season, including Renee's work with the Red Square Syndicate up to 6 years ago, AFTER her work with the FBI.

@Pumpie Renee's work with the Red Square was BEFORE season 7. Watch the episodes again, they said that many times. It's also common sense, since her work with the Red Square was an FBI covert operation, so it should have happened before season 7 because Renee was fired from the FBI after season 7.

They have _NEVER_ explicitly used Season 7 as a pivotal point in the timeline. ." They've been pretty vague with the details and made it sound like her recent depression and violent behaviour (ie; cutting off the Ruskie's thumb) was due to her time in the Red Square Syndicate. But regardless, we can assume there's a continuity error there and just place her time with RSS before Season 7 and attribute her depression to her losing her job.

@Pumpie Watch episode 4 (7 pm-8pm) again. Chloe tells Jack that ''they're bringing in Renee to brief them because she worked UNDERCOVER with the Russian mob 6 years ago''. Jack also asks Chloe if ''that is Renee's UNDERCOVER file''. After a while, Jack tells Renee that he ''knows how the FBI let her go after she almost killed Wilson during the interrogation''. So it's pretty obvious that her time with RSS was before season 7.

@Pumpie I think she was already depressed because of posttraumatic stress disorder after Day 7, being fired from the FBI and her inability to maintain a job (she told Chloe that she worked at a security firm for some time ''but it didn't work out'' in this same episode). So putting her in an environment that revived bad memories could only worsen her situation.

I just wanted to know why Bond does not always use the silenced pistol. If he already has one, wouldn't he always want to keep it consistent? Same for other shows like 24 when Jack uses it, then not. Is there a reason why they keep switching back and forth between using one and not using a silencer?

@pres917ism Makes a bit more realistic. Silenced weapons are for a closer combat situation. Taking the silencer off increased the range of the pistol. So I'm assuming they did it to hint towards that factor, and not make the show overly cheesy with jack sniping dudes with a silenced pistol.

It isn't Fox...The producer and Kiefer Sutherland themselves determined it was time to end the show. (They can't seem to come up with an idea for Season 9). They may still make a movie though, so I don't think Jack will die. I hate this too. 24 is my absolute favorite!

Season 1-5 are the best seasons, Season 6 is solid but very flawed, Season 7 brought it back to quality & is badass but Season 8 is pure shit.
I hope they end the show & continue anything they wish to continue on the big screen

Season 4 is my favorite because the bad guys are badass, it's easy to get into without seeing any of the previous seasons & Curtis, Chloe, Tony & Jack are all great together!
Season 5 is considered the best season but while I got past the assassinations, the ending sucked because it led up to the flawed 6th season

How come Jack doesn't always use his silencer? If he already has one, wouldn't he want to use it at his benefit?

It sometimes depends on the situation. He takes off the silencer to supress fire, and start poppin' caps off at whoever is shooting at him. If the enemy doesn't hear return fire, they won't retreat and if Jack has to move from cover to cover then that leaves him exposed. He only uses the silencer for solo and stealth stuff.

idk. But law enforcement rarely use silencers. They have no need to conceal the noise like a criminal trying to get away with something would. And I think you can whip around a store a normal gun with no silencer on it more easily. BUT come to think of it he uses it whenever he is sneaking into an area. That's pretty realistic I would say.
