Wow it's amazing to see that just one guy made that much of a difference in the PK community i saw a video or 2 of him a while back he was amazing... GOD bless you guys and i'm sorry for your loss.
Remember, Korey loved to circuit train ;) that was circuit one :P lol
All jokes aside, thank you guys so much for dedicating this to my broski Korey "bossman" Sarvas :') as well as the kind words in the description :) I glad he was able to impact your lives, as well as the many more people around the globe......crazy thinking he wont be texting me at 2:00 in the morning asking if i want to go train the next day at Margate park lol...but one day on streets of GOLD we will train again :)
On Saturday 17/12 we did workout in Korey's honor. 2 people did 31 back tuck burpees, the rest did 31 burpee tuck jumps and most of them did more series.
I hope no one else does this to get better at parkour or free-running. This is not a good drill. You will wreck your back flip doing it to failure in this way. In no way can I see this making someone strong or better at any sport or activity other than the drill itself.
@jusres You're right and I never said it would make you stronger or better at backflips. It is a metcon workout meaning that it is good conditioning for anyone who already has a solid backflip. We had over 30 people do this and there were no bad crashes or injuries because we all stayed within our limits and took it slow if we felt tired.
@DemonDrills Even as "metabolic conditioning" it doesn't make sense though. What is the purpose of conditioning if not to work towards the demands of a sport such as parkour? Anyways sorry if I came off harsh in my first post, but I don't think this is a good demon drill post, and most people do come to this channel looking for parkour specific exercises and workout advice. I know the whole crossfit philosophy revolves around this kind of stuff, but it doesn't make it good.
@jusres Also sorry if this is inappropriate. I didn't read the description or the intro for the video, nor did I know who Korey Sarvas was. Feel free to delete my posts if you think they are inappropriate. I'm just trying to build an intelligent dialogue about the actual workout performed.
@jusres I pretty much agree. It was more of a fun challenge in honor of a friend than a serious workout. This was the first time doing 30 backflip burpees for all of us and it was a lot of fun but I certainly wouldn't make a habit of conditioning like this.
@DemonDrills why is it not a good workout? I think not every excercise should be parkour-specific? The fact that it will make you stronger, isn't that helping you to get better at parkour in that way?
@11ty62 Taken from the video description: "Korey Sarvas was a workout fanatic and loved to do flips, so we recently held impromptu workouts at APEX Movement in Boulder, CO and Englewood, CO in his honor. Similar to the CrossFit Hero workouts in which workouts are named after fallen soldiers, we would like to dedicate and name this workout after Korey."
@sonaru4 a year ago, I could barely do a push up... 6 months ago, I was up to about 6-8 burpees in a row, now I am at around 12 (20 with smaller breaks in between, so this korey workout is going to be tough on me!). you just need to stay on it and keep working out and you will get there! and probably way faster than my old lazy ass! ;)
Man this is awesome idk if can do that many burpee b Flips but ima try for korey I never actually knew the guy but from what it seems He was an all around Good Person R.I.P. Hope your living it up in the big parkour cloud in the sky!

do you have to land on your feet before the burpee? cant you just land on your hands and feet in push-up position straight away?
Lilleralle1 2 months ago
@Lilleralle1 You'd probably break your wrists doing that. Just land on your feet :)

@caGh0s7 actually it works! you just have to make the backflip a smooth movement so that you kinda roll out of it with your belly :)
Lilleralle1 2 months ago
@Lilleralle1 I've seen both. Landing on your hands is more dangerous though.
