This is just one hell of a band. Marauder is my fav also. I am -76 and from northern europe. Yes, underrated it might be. But, people listen to charts, not *music*.
I can only imagine the stories you could tell...this band didn't get the recognition at home that they should have. No, we get stuck with fucking hair metal Bon Jovi crap instead......bah!
@basenjib123 BlackFoot Freakin Jams .... They Rocked Me Many Times & people Would Always say who is that??? i would be like Duh... Blackfoot Man...! Rock On...
I remember this great group--used to see them play at the community center in stirling, and elsewhere in new jersey in the early 70's. They were my favorite group and saw them so many times and Ricky is a great guy.
I saw this tour in Nuremberg Germany, They opened for The Scorpions. They even played one song together. I had seen them once the same summer as well at an Open air .38 Special was there as well. They opened up and we were in the front against the stage. Medlocke was slapping our hands! I know, big deal, but I had fun!
This great band opened for cocksuckers like Scorpions? Unbelievable...Ricky has one of the most distinguished voices in rock music. I adore their Marauder album the most. Must have heard it thousand times...that's about 999 times more than Scorpions!
It seems that silver burning produced tough gold records. But the versions of these songs are even better in their Highway Song Live record. Recommended.
I saw Blackfoot a year later after this when they added Ken Hensley on Keyboards the Siogo tour they sounded much different the keyboards changed there sound drastically. Rickey Medlocke was so kick ass he put out so much energy singing and playing some awesome lead guitar they blew away Molly Hatchet
Sherry, have been trying to find you after all these years (the 80's)-it's Lisa from Daytona/Hawaiian Tropic. PLEASE let me know how to reach you via my facebook-Lisa Marie Cayman Islands. I am so sorry about Jakson!!!
OMG,no kidding! I am so sorry to hear about Thunderfoot! I didn't know! I heard about Charlie years ago and I was so sad to hear that,I have been a huge fan of Southern Rock since I was a little kid,but Blackfoot became my favorite after I got out of the Army and moved to Atlanta! I first heard of them just a week before the concert...I fell in love with their whole look and the sound...Oh shit! They can play and Ricky's voice is the ultimate! Is he your brother by blood? Thanks for answering!
Amazing....No shit...what is your fondest memory!? That's killer!!! How have you been? I hope the last 30 years have been good to you!!! Ain't this the shit??? LOL
Tell me one guy that can sing, write and play all the different instrments this frickin good and have that energy and smokin hot charisma on stage? Ricky is the king!
Rickey medlock was so hot back then. They stayed true to thier native american roots also. LOVE THEM SOUTHERN BOYS. LOVE SOUTHERN ROCK. THEY KICKED MY SOUTHERN COUNTRY DIXIE ASS!!! lol!!!
Can anyone tell what the hell Rickey says in 'Fly Away' as he's rapping with the crowd?? I know what he says on the live album but I think he gets tongue tied here and just says 'summertime's here -- unga unga chunga -- kick off my little shoes.... it's kinda funny.
OMG...I first saw them in '79 at the Omni in Atlanta!!! They opened for Ted Nugent (The Scorpions opened for Blackfoot!) and I had never heard of them! Hot Damn...they absolutely blew me away!!! They have by far...one of the hardest rocking best shows I have ever seen...I've seen hundreds of bands! Blackfoot will rock on forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEST SOUTHERN ROCK BAND EVER!!!!

Holy Shit...I have been a fan of theirs since '79...have seen them 5 times in concert.
They are still, hands down, the best live act I have ever seen.
And still...I get goose bumps listening to Rickey sing the Blues.
Damn they were good...so very good!

Now Jackson Spires is gone :-(, in lieu of a reunion that will never be now-they should remaster all their music...
Cant believe they've not done it already...
