I carried one last time I flew just to avoid some of the metal detector hassles and I have to admit, it was a convenience. We already have our crap spread out among:pockets, wife's purse and car. Only reason we don't carry one is image. So, what is gayer: carrying a bag or NOT carrying one because you are afraid that people will think you're gay? The disadvantage is leaving it somewhere. Already did that once at the airport, but fortunately it was there when when I went back for it.

For straight guys who have a hard time with many of the murse styles out there, a rugged leather messenger bag can be a solution. For vintage styles I really like what J. Crew has.
