I missed were it said ssq then....i have the turbonetics raptor bov, and it wasnt opening and made the same sound no matter what rpm I was in....a friend of mine has the hks and it still doesnt sound like this though
@DB06z33 It's called HKS SSQV.... SEQUENTIAL... The dual pistons are just messing around... He cannot have surge at such high RPMs with such boost....
i got the turbonetics kit on my 350z but forsome reason the blow off doesnt sound like yours AT ALL. And its very quite too. Whats the deal with that? Did you install the HKS? Does that make such a big difference? How much was the AAM single exhaust? Please reply! Thank you
Bottom end will cost about $3500 and a bunch of associated parts will cost a total of about $8300 total. Thats if you are doing it yourself. Includes clutch and gaskets. Depends on a lot. What you want, how you want to do it and yadda yadda.
I have had the Turbonetics kit on now for 3 years and approximately 30,000 miles. I did not build the engine at all when I installed the kit. It was tuned by Forged Performance in ATL. The boost has remained at 6.5lbs throughout those 30,000 to ensure the longevity of the engine. The air conditioning line has been burnt through as has on many of these kits. If I had to do it over again I would build the motor and put on the Greddy twins. Otherwise love the Z and will never get rid of it.
@Inspectojo Hi, i have also the turboneticskit on my 350z but my question is did you change the exhaust? if you did, to what? pls answer asap. thank you!
hi dude, i'm a owner of 350z 2005 too, i'm thinking to make my z turbo but i'm not sure because i dont want to break the engine. so, This is the turbonetics kit that shows in google? this kit include everything or i have to buy something else? how many whp delivery after install with stock engine? do you recommend this kit? thanks
@copperz33 probably because he needs a new cat. With the turbo kit installed, he might still have that factory one on and the sensors could be reading the same. not sure though
not that its a small turbo more like just a large turbo running low psi, hence the fast spool up, im guessing he's spooling right around 3500-4000... good looking z
If he''s running 6.5 lbs its obviously a stock motor, Z motor can handle up to 9.5 on stock block, I'm running 8.5 on mine and remember its a high compression motor so unlike you beetle that prob has an 8:1 compression ratio you cannot push the stock motor too to much boost or you will blow it to pieces. Compression + Boost = Problems. Beautiful Z!!
it all depends on the tune i have heard of them with 6psi blowing up and i have heard ones with 10 lasting forever but since its got high compression you don't want very much.
Most stock exhaust systems are single exhaust, meaning that they have one head pipe expelling exhaust from the engine. A dual exhaust system has two sets of head pipes, which allows more exhaust to escape and provides marginally better engine performance, as well as giving the car a more aggressive sound.
for a single turbo with a single exhaust you do not have to run a splitter pipe or a y pipe. which is better. y pipes cut down on flow and make the exhaust have more turns and less straighter path which adds back pressure
duel exhaust is good on a tt car becuase it has 2 down pipes and once again the straighter the path of the exhaust the less back pressure the faster the turbo can spool.
ur z is cool but making it single exhaust is stupid and it doesnt sound the same the faster you get the exhaust gases out the quicker ur turbo spools dual all the way
Your a moron. Look up the tubro kit and how the exhaust is routed. Using a 3'' not only makes life easier by not needing a reverse Y pipe, it provides adequte flow.
you can but you definatly should get a methonol kit if you drive it in the winter. at the same boost you will be putting in a lot more air than normal and you should drive it really nice and easy dont go much past 3.5k-4k. otherwise you risk running lean and killing your engine.
@Inspectojo i guess that kinda answer my above question already, sry. OK, here is the deal. I installed a 3inch AAM single exhaust but i have a silencer tube at the end inside of the exhaust cause its too loud without it. Last month i was even "kicked out" of the racetrack cause its just too loud and neighbours complained. Now since i am into drifting my mechanic said NOT to use the silencer when i rev high cause the silencer blocks the flow of the exhaust and its too hot. Any comments?
im doing the same single turbo set up on my 350gt, the blow off sounds like an ssqv HKS? im not copying you but im doing the same BOV im planning on running stock internals at 8.5 lbs of boost what are you running?
@rocksforNOOBS Its perfectly fine to run this turbo kit on stock internals. As long as he keeps the PSI boost below 8, he wont have any problems whats so ever.
hey dude, nice car i wana get pretty much that exact same setup, what ECU are u running with it? And would u mind making like a 30-80 acceleration video cause in this clip it doesn't seem like its that fast.
Id go Greddy from what I know now. Greddy also filed for bankrupcy......ha. The lip/bumper is the aerosync. Good bumper but doesnt fit right on my car with the aluminum bumper support taken out. Ive put about 7k into it.
This is a really intelligent idea man, lets let everyone know that we are from new york, and give them our lisence plate number, THEN GO SPEEDING ILLEGALY!.....

I have an 03 z with turbonetics st also, ses injen exhaust and ssv bov, and sound the same. No problems with mine so far runing at 8 psi. Good job.

Because it runs a big single turbo instead of two smaller turbos. Since the exhaust is only leaving one turbo, in only needs one exhaust pipe :)

duel exhaust is not good for turbo applications unless you have twin turbo's
the bigger the straighter the better
25evets 2 years ago
funny thing is, that has nothing to do with dual exhaust....
maybe you should do a lil research before you go blasting improper info
