I honestly think George Clinton didn't want mainstream success----or his record company screwed him----one or the other. Some of the hidden hits were never released as singles----or, they were not released as the first singles from the respective albums----and the LPs were already declining by the time the greatest songs were released as singles, killing their airplay. "Last Dance" would have been an enormous monster hit on Top 40 radio, dance clubs, etc., if they had handled it correctly.

If you've noticed, alot of the "hidden hits" never get airplay.It's all music industry politics. Now I gotta disagree with you, but personally I'm glad they DON'T play it on the radio! I enjoy it better. It's a good thing the internet exist so people can find the "funk' 4themselves By chance I happened to come across this song and I've been hooked ever since.
