  • When I was born, my mother has a C-Section because she had to. The doctors accidentally cut my head aswel. But that would of been horrible not being able to be admitted straight away.

  • Your a Psycho! lmao my Ephidural hurt sooooo bad!!

  • I highly recommend you do some research on the negative sides of an epidural and other medicines during labor and birth. Everything is very standard in hospitals and all based around interventions. Your body is very capable of giving birth without so many interventions. find out about different positions that are better to give birth with. Laying on your back narrows the birthcanal big time. learn from the documentary "the business of being born". trust your body more. you'll be greatful

  • ...how far along were you. I know that at your last video you were 39 weeks. But, were you 39 weeks and some days...40 weeks and some days ??!!!

  • @OurBabyKlatt i was 1 day past my due date, so 40 weeks, 1 day

  • I had daughter on October 5 too he is so handsome!

  • I agree with MamaRobynBird. When you were telling the story, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Such terrible treatment! The fact that they left you like that and would come back later? What in the world...I would have been a hong kong mega bitch. There is no way I would deal with that bullsh*t. I give you props. Also, when they cut your baby's head....hell no. NO. I wish you the best for you and your family.

  • I don't understand how so many people have these stories about their health care providers being such assholes! Makes me sick. And if they would have cut my son Oh hell no! lol Girl you were strong to have gotten through that. I would have been raising hell lol

  • The hospital I had my baby at was awesome!!!! Every single person from the doctors to the man escorting me to my car was a blessing. Howeverrrr the childbirth part was horribleeee!!! Put it this way, my baby was still positioned high and she was laying on my left side when it was time for her to come out! My blood pressure rose and made my labor pains worse! I was literally crying and I felt everything! The most horrible part was when I felt her head sitting there!

  • 4cm dilated and they said that you should go home? My doctor told me I have to be over 3am dilated or be sent home. Luckily, I was 4 and they immediately put me into a room and hooked up the monitors. I can't believe you had to do all that waiting!

  • holy crud moly...see i dont understant how on these pregnancy shows they show a couple calmly walking in to the hospital like were sopposed to have a baby...not even in labor yet...yet here you are forced to wait for hours before they would even admit you...poor thing

  • @ladiematrix I know! they act nochalant & obvious that they see preggo ppl every day - which they do - but it is SO not how we should be treated, especially entering labor for the first time

  • Congratulations on your son.

But I do have to say, I wouldn't sue for a cut. Yes, it sucks, but it wasn't intentional and if you needed the episiotomy and his head came down some right at that time, that's beyond their control. I'm sure it's more common than we think. And his head is probably fine now, right?

  • @MamaLauraMUA that's the mindset i was in at the time, i figured it was a common mistake. it looked terrible and deep, but it healed completely within a couple months

  • I don't know if you learned or heard about this when it comes to pushing, but when delivery starts to happen it's more like one step forward and then two or three steps back. And plus with an epidural it can be really difficult to find the right muscles to push the baby out with because they're numbed to a point. Don't get me wrong, epidurals are great! I plan on getting one with my firstborn whenever he decides to come out into the world next month!

  • Are you sure it is too late to sue? Even if you just bring it up not for the money but to make a point? You know they were all probably hoping you wouldn't sue them but after the way they treated you.... I had the same problem feeling hopeless when pushing as the nurses and doctor never told me how close I was etc. I didn't get an epidural because it was too quick but the doctor never told me the reason they wouldn't treat the pain so I thought I would feel like that for hours!

  • @Switcharoo12 i feel like it's probably too late to sue now, i don't have any pictures of his head from that day, and he looks perfectly fine now, plus we've moved to another state since then. but yeah, now I've learned not to shrug off those kinds of human errors as just accidents. great job to you for doing it without an epidural!! i'd be proud of that!

  • The kind of "care" you received in the hospital is exactly why I want a home birth. A few of my friends have had bad experiences and said they did not feel listened to by the nurses. Birth doesn't scare me, hospital procedures for birthing do! I love your channel and you're so sweet, thank you for sharing.

  • 7:18..thats what she sed.. :D

  • 6:59...thats what she sed... :D

  • wow that nurse treated you horrible iswear.......wow.......but they say that epidoral makes you walk wierd in the future

  • why didnt you sue them?

  • The epidural can make it hard for you to push, like you are using all your might but it's not really doing much. I had my last baby with no pain management what so ever and it was so amazing and it was fast and beautiful! :)

  • hahaha 12:26 , your cat

  • holy shit i'm scared of having a child haha

  • why did you have to wear that blue thing ?

  • If you guys decide to have another baby, please don't go back to that hospital.

  • If you guys decide to have another baby, please don't go back to that hospital. Sounds horrible.

  • regardless of your hospital... you're awesome :) best wishes to you and your son!

  • no offense but that hospital seems pretty bad... making you either leave or walk around for an Hour... and giving your son a scar... and making you lay down for hours "trying to sleep" which is impossible I have heard. Sounds like a pretty crappy hospital.

  • you're so lucky, only 18 hours? My poor mother was 36 hours in labour with me... :/ congratulations, though! :)

  • The medical staff at that hospital is crappy. You have enough on your mind when you are in labor. They can't make you feel like they are disappointed in you. I can't believe that they did that and kept walking away from you and your husband leaving you confused. And on top of that they scarred your baby!! tsk tsk tsk

  • How do you roll your hair back like that to the side? So cute id love to see a tutorial for this hairstyle!

  • @rMeghann Yeah i totally hear u. But all is well and u came out with a very handsome little man =). Congrats to u and your family. Im due March 28, 2011 and i always find women's stories on pregnancy nd labor soooo helpful. Thanx a lot for sharing =)

  • U didnt sue them for the scar they gave your son? I think stuff like that is serious

  • @Brefrzr12keykt looking back, I wish we did something about it. it's too late now though

  • When my sister in law was giving birth she was laughing! i was so shocked she actually went from laughing to screaming at my brother who then starting (attempted) singing Don't Stop Belivin' to her to make her feel better which made her scream louder at him. Then she had baby Alice at 5:23 in the morning on June 12th :). She said it was indeed painful but she said it was a defying moment of her life and totally worth it! Good Luck ladies and enjoy your babies :)!

  • i feel sorry for you my water broke at 4am and i had her at 740 am. i had her 20 minutes after we got to the hospital.we got there so late i had no pain medication or epidural. it hurt so bad:( but congrats on your baby

  • They should have not tried to send you home at all. That is lazyness on their part. It took me 18hrs to have my daughter, i stayed in the hospital the whole time. This time i'm having a natural birth.

  • i would of punched the nurse in the face l0l she didnt sound professional AT ALL! and that Hospital is retarted. they should of just let you lay in the bed like a normal person and hook up the monitors, not a dark room but glad you got him out :)

  • I can't believe the hospital staff treated you like that... pathetic. They cut your babies head? I would have been soooo mad! Hello, lawsuit! You were too nice to them. LOL! Congrats on your sweet babe!

  • that hospital staff sounds crappy! i would be so pissed if they cut my babys head!

  • thank you for your very candid videos. I am only 20 weeks along..and very weary and scared of birth and labor.....

  • I feel like you had a horrible experience (before baby arrived). You sure did pick the small straw huh! I work at a hospital and I couldn't imagine some of the things you mentioned happening. Good luck with your new family.

  • So this is amazing! I am pregnant and your blogs are so honest and helpful! I cried watching this I get so emotional haha :) I want to see my baby so bad but I still have 20 weeks to go. It seems so unreal I guess is the best way to put it, I know there is a baby-but if I did not know I would not know...does that make sense? I am worried all the time about if the baby is okay in there and all kinds of things..I am terrified of an epidural but you took the fear away a little!

    THANK YOU!

  • I think you are amazing...one question....why didn't you check the box that says only your midwife and doctor allowed...no students surplus and randoms walking in? You can do that in England. There aren't more than 3 other people in the room with you...unless its an emergency.

  • I feel for you...I went through 21 hours of labor before they finally decided it was hopeless and did a C-section...that was 30 years ago!

  • Wow that staff sounded really unorganized and unhelpful. Normally there are so many things you can do to help the baby come out when you push and I would be so upset if 15 people showed up to watch me give birth like some spectacle after I had that hard of a time in labor! I'm due in 9 days and I'm going to be trying my hardest to get this baby out! Carrying a baby and having it are extremely difficult. I wish men had to go through this, it takes a very strong person!!

  • I agree with you pushing was very hard for me also. I was given a "walking epidural" and I could even feel the episiotomy when it was given.

  • Wow i was watching this and realized Carter was born on my sisters birthday, i didnt know he was born october 5th.

  • have u lost all ur baby weight

  • my mom was pregnant with my youngest sister with two broken arms and the hospital got confused and thought that she was a crazy lady and almost sent her home cause she was walking the halls and she was screaming in pain they dident care but then her doctor came in and thats when they figured out she was a patient now thats a fail

  • What does the term of pushing even mean for this? Please and thank you! :O

  • I will NEVER get married!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @natateoeq oh you will...dont say you wont cause you will...

  • It seems like your staff SUCKED!....I'm sorry

  • cute cat and house

  • meghann, ive enjoyed your videos so so much! I feel like we've been pregnant together. thankyou xxx

  • @JerbalKing lol me too!

  • i had (2) cesarean section i didn't mind having a cesarean section

  • Wow.18 hours is quite a while.I had an epidural also but my side effects were totally the opposite.I had my baby exactly the way you said it.I pushed and felt nothing and POP out comes the baby! My labor and delivery lasted 7hours and i stayed numb for about a day and a half. Afterwards of course it was just horrible.

  • I'm so scared for when the time comes to have a baby! Does it hurt to get the epidural?Cuz I've heard it does and it doesn't.

  • @sydydance4 for me it didn't, it just felt like getting a shot

  • @sydydance4 Im so afraid too! and im only 16 weeks :O

  • @Lindsay190

Don't be scared, a natural birth is a little easier on the body, especially a water birth. Which i am doing this time. My first one was at the hospital. You forget the pain after all is said and done. I had a large baby almost 9 pounds. Natural instinct sets in.

  • whoah does it hurt that much??

  • I can't believe they did that to you. I pushed for a while but had no idea how long it was before they finally decided c-section. My daughter was stuck and it looks like with my second pregnancy (17 weeks 4 days now) I'll be having another one...they say I can't deliver a baby. :(

  • Hey Meghann! I have enjoyed watching all of your videos! I'm sorry you didn't have the best labor & delivery experience.. I had my second son 7 months ago and I went with the all natural, midwife approach (after have a similiar experience as you w/ our 1st) and I just wanted to let you know it is possible that you achieve an amazing experience.. don't let this experience scare you at all.. If you look on my page you will see 'water birth of Dylan Meade', maybe that will give you some hope! :)

  • Aww poor baby carter's head! I had a Csection and while pulling Ella out they cut her cheek! No scars though :)

  • oh i would have been pissed if they cut my baby! my son just turned one i was in labor with him for 48 hours i was induced i went 36 hours without any pain medication they gave me an ep. but i could feel everything so i asked them to turn it off i also had to be cut and i had to get 13 stiches it was no fun and i am now 24 weeks pregnant lol i hopee it isnt as bad as the first time your son is so cute!

  • I actually yelled at the nurse to give me a freaking epidural.lol.

  • my hubby was fanning me with paper.and using a cold wet napkin to cool my face.I was in labor for 17 hours with my first born.

  • you should have sued them

  • Thanks for answering me Meghan, tomorrow is my due date I hope to have my baby, I can't wait!!! Your baby is so beautiful as you as well, I love your videos, you seem to be a nice person, blessings!!! : )

  • How many weeks did you have when your baby was born?

  • 40 weeks and 2 days

  • how much did he weight?

  • 7lbs 2 oz

  • that was the day i went in for my first pregnancy appointment and also my sisters bday :) ( october 5th )

  • Congratulation! As a mother of 2 boys with one one the way and also an OB nurse myself, I can sympathize with the discomfort of labor that you went through. I pushed for 2 hours as well for the first...had nothing but Demerol for pain. The second time around I was scared but by the time I got to the hospital I was 6cm, my water broke and he was born all within an hour after I got there. I pushed maybe 10 minutes so hopefully you will find it a bit easier the next time.

  • i got induced as my water broke but was slowly coming out so i go induced 12 hours later lol, i had the epidural like 4 hours after they induced me its so much worse as u go from not being in labour at all to having the worst pain ever, the only thing that hurt from the epidural was the needle they giv u first to numb your lower back but other then that i had the best labour i would highly recommend the epidural aswell lol.

  • I can't believe how your Doctor and nurses treated you! I would be livid! And that they cut your baby boy's head. :( My doctor seems pretty nice, but I just hope the bed side manners are good when it comes time for the delivery. Sorry your Dr was so unprofessional! PS.. love all your videos.. you have answered soooo many questions that no one seems to know the answer to haha.

  • man you are lucky.. they broke my water before i got my epidural and those contractions were really bad but i would do it again in a heartbeat.. congratulations im so happy for you.. it is the most amazing thing and when you see how fast they grow it wont be too long and you will want to do it again

  • Congratulations!!! You really explained a lot on the process. I am 22 weeks pregnant and I am excited about meeting the baby soon but then get freaked about the whole delivery part. I just pray for a safe and fast L&D. I was wondering if it hurt while they did the episitomy?

  • Thanks! I didn't even feel the episiotomy or the stitching up afterwards because i was still about 75% numb from the epidural

  • I had both my children naturally, no epidual no drugs, and I didnt feel the episiotomy at all. Of course while they were stitching me I did have a local.

Congrats! Im sure you will do wonderfully!

  • congratulations! sounds like an ordeal. Im 29 weeks pregnant and ive recently decided to go with a c-section, so i really respect your bravery with doing it the hard way! oh yeah, i'm a med student on my obstetrics placement at the moment, and i always feel so bad intruding on these sorts of moments for people - thats so not the time that you want a bunch of people gawking, so i apologise on behalf of us all:) . you look beautiful! x Lisa.

  • your hair looks lovely!

  • it felt so good to push, when i did!

  • how much did he weigh???????????

  • 7lbs 2 oz

  • your first baby is the hardest to push out and to be in labor with. but after that its much easier usually unless some thing goes wrong or the baby is laying wrong

  • Not in all cases...My first was for the most part not to bad. 7hrs of labor 2 of that was pushing. My second was 17hrs of labor and 1hr of that was pushing.

  • wow that is so weird everybody i talk to say they brought there epidural down but they didnt bring mine down i felt absolutely nothing they told me that it doesnt matter if your numb you can still push...pushed for 2 hours then they had to use a suction.....but you did great girl congrats!!

  • cool videos im 19 weeks on tuesday due march 24th u are a very pretty lady and strong too cobngrats x

  • aww congrats hun!

  • Thanks for sharing! =) Your sooo lucky that he is here!!!

  • I had a tough labor too hun! I was in labor for over 24 hours and pushed for 2 1/2 hours and had to get a c section! :(

  • yeah was your baby big? my friend is so tiny and she had her 2nd baby she tried so hard but nothing worked..so they finally gave her a c- section the baby was 10 lbs. !

  • That was a really long labor...would you rather have stayed home a bit longer before going to hospital? O and another thing, did you get anything to eat since the beginning of your labor till you actually delivered?

  • nope i didn't eat anything ... i was in a lot of pain so i was glad i was at the hospital the whole time

  • CONGRATULATIONS! your labor story is very similar to mine. i had 41 hours and 3 minutes of labor and 2 hours of pushing as well and we had not been able to sleep as well but like you said it was all worth it!

  • Wow... I was watching this story with my mom who has 3 children and she said this was one of the worst labor stories she's ever heard! lol Well congrats girl, you did it and he's here :)

  • Congratulations you did it girl xxx

  • Congratulations!!!

  • ooo my gosh im sorry you had kinda a crummy experience with the staff at the hospital..and they cut carters head!!!!! im not a doctor but pretty sure that shouldnt of happend! i wouldnt go back.

  • Congrats

  • Congrats girl, glad its all over with and you have your little boy. The one thing im affraid of is getting cut. You said they cut his head, omg i would have been so peed off..you seem calm about it. My husband and i are currently trying. So hopefully soon i will be experiancing the joys of child birth. :)

  • Oh wow, your L&D sounded horrible! But congrats on your new arrival.

I had my daughter on the 13th Oct. She got scratches all over the back of her head from my waters being broken cuz I had to be induced, I was really overdue.

You look well and happy. Hope everything is going okay with feeding!

  • Congratulation... You looks super good !!!!

  • congratulations!! xx

  • i was in labor for 8 1/2 hours

  • I am also worried about epidural..I hope it isnt bad for me. And it sounded like you waited a long time to get the show on the road. lol

A fan sounds like such a smart idea and I am so sorry you had such a tuff delivery.

  • Yay congratulations!

  • wow the stuff at the hospital seems rude, when i went to my sister's delivery room, the nurses were more encouraging and supportive...they admitted her to induce laber even when she was not even 3 cm dialated, it is weird that they didn't admit you right away...and when it was time to push, they were supportive too, letting her know how much she had to push

the only thing i am scared is the tearing :( i am scared i might tear alot...i have 12 more weeks, scary but exciting

  • loooooove the epidural : )

  • I am glade there was no real dramatics. Everything sounded like it went smooth. Long but smooth.

  • we had really similar experiences! i was thinking the same thing about pushing w an epidural. But they turned mine off when i started to push as well and i pushed for 2.5 hours so by the end it was super brutal! congrats on your baby boy!!!

  • Woah O_O

My mom had me in 12 minutes.

    Congrats on your delivery<3

  • were you the first? usually the first is always the hardest I was the 3rd kid, my mom said she popped me out in 30 minutes..... from the time she walked into the hospital

  • how was it when they took out the placenta???? you didn't mention that!

  • i didn't even really notice when they took it out because i was watching the baby

  • really??? Omg I SCREAMED and yelled to the doctor to stop! i didn't even know what he was doing..... he was a jerk about it. he said " you want to bleed to death" I didn't even know they have to take that out.. it was a surprise to me. but I saw it after he took it out it was really gross.. like a bloody jelly fish.

  • your cats are vary playful !

  • OMG the epidural hurt soooooo bad.....I screamed! it felt like my back was on fire!

  • what does "faced" mean? when she talked about 4 cm dilated ...

  • It's effaced. It has to do with thinning of the cervical tissue during labor. The more effaced your cervix is, the more your labor progresses.

  • thanks

  • Well I'm glad you have such great memories from your labor and delivery, even though the people around you weren't too supportive. I'm glad there weren't any other problems other than your episiotomy. Hope you are all doing well! :)

  • I saw Carter's picture on your blog he is sooo cute congrats to both you and matt!!!

  • I guess the epi has different effects on everyone cause I had different effects with mine than the ones you mention:/ Sounds like the hospital and staff were horrible. That sucks:( I can't believe they cut him I would have been sooo pissed. Makes me really appreciate having been at an awesome hospital. Anyways Congrats! He's very cute saw the pics on fb lol.

  • Congrats! I love your videos! Please keep em comin! :-) xoxo

  • glad they let you stay instead of going home and to hear the epidural was cake. thanks for sharing the inside scoop on your labor!! what an adventure that was for you ... i feel relieved that your labor is over with haha. that's scary about the cut on him from the episiotomy but i'm glad he's okay!

  • Sounds like they were real Aholes to you, i wouldnt have put up with that at all! You want to feel encouraged during labour!

OMG! They cut him??? That is ridiculous- how long have they been doing this for christs sake? OMG, i would have gone off my head at them!!! Im glad it wasnt something more serious!!!

CANT WAIT TO SEE THE NEXT VID!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS new Mummy :)

  • your baby is adorable...congrats

  • I saw a picture of him on Twitter.

    He's adorable!

  • congratulations!! i followed you on twitter during your labor. can't wait to have my lil one, 7 more weeks!

  • FIRST COMMENT OMG CONGRATS AND THAT SOUNDS LIKE PAIN! :o
