As a matter of fact, the more I think about the fact that even for a moment, even in the hey-dey of "Sk8te-ur-Boi" or whatever that pubescent caterwaling was, that someone can mentioning that irritating Canuck and Liz Phair in the same sentence, I feel sorry for all my Canuck friends I fight online with. I wonder with what ears one listens, that allows thoughts of Liz Phair and Squeaky the "Wonder Mouse" to exist in the same moment, in the same mind. The horror...the horror...

I also realized that Justin Bieber doesn't have any pretense about what he is. He's a factory-made, ready-to-run pop idol, carefully crafter by Usher. While horrifically repugnant to my eyes and ears, at least he doesn't pretend to be something he's not, compared to the self-described "punk" Avril Lavigne. If I want pop-punk with a girl upfront, I'll take that chick in the Damones over Avril anyday. At least she's really playing her f*****g guitar.
