JGJ really gave life to Moritz, and I think he was fantastic. I saw Blake twice, and also had such a great interpretation of Moritz that was quite extraordinary. His "so dark" monologue left me shaking. Steffi D is my favorite!!! She just brought something special to Ilse.

That being said, I don't think this is either of their's best performance.

why are you dissing gerard? i saw him as moritz on a couple days ago and he was amazing. he brought his own character to the role and definetly wasnt a clone of JGJ, who, may i say, one a tony for a reason.

Blake is by far my favorite. He is PERFECT is the role. Then Gerard. There's nothing very memorable about his voice, but his acting is out of this world. When I was sitting onstage, his emotion and facial expressions blew me away. And he's been w/ the show forever. Last is JGJ. I just don't think he is trained enough. He needs to learn how to breathe. You can see him gasping for air in DDS. I dont think he's a good singer, since he gets pitchy a lot and doesn't pronounce his syllables correctly.

blake doesnt need any explanation. i feel that gallagher connects with the role (with the exception of suicide). he didnt get good grades in high school & dropped out senior year. and i think they were prolly looking for the untrained but serious actor for the original casting of moritz.

gerard, i feel is just a carbon copy of gallagher.

yup johnny gallagher was the best moritz i personally adore blake because in order to do musical theatre you have to be an actor first then a singer this is just how blake happened to interpret the character and you feel it when he sings

Kyle Riabko puts more emotion into the songs he sings for one. Second, his singing voice sounds almost exactly like Jonathan Groff's. Add on the fact that the OBC all look like they're in their mid to late twenties, not teenagers. I don't care how old they actually are, that's how old they look.

I like the tour and OBC equally. They are so different I wouldn't even compare them. Kyle/Christy have a different edge to Groff/Lea, I dont know the english word, like they are not as clean cut but I dont think that makes them better/worse. Just different.

I've seen Blake twice (soon to be 3 times), JGJ once and Gerard once and you've got to appreciate the finer points in each of them or else you'll find yourself sitting there scowling the whole show. They're all great.
