i know how he got the card into the deck (at 1:29 - 1:30 he slips it in beteen the cards in the deck) but not how he knew it as the joker.

The sleight of hand could be improved. I realized what you did as you mentioned the cards - different hand movement compared to the other 3 cards. I mean, I couldn't see the card hide behind the others you ditched into the main stash, but I definitely picked up on the difference of hand movement from the other 3 cards.

What I don't know, though, is how you knew it was the Joker.

Wonderful sleight of hand. I would suggest stalling before flicking 1:40 therefore erasing any temporary memory that could give away the secret.
