  • a crash could be ugly

  • it isnt practical for war or anything because its hard to put on and its heavy and it burns about 10 grand woth of fuel in 30 seconds

  • Its not fake, its real, but its pretty useless for anything other than making a damn flashy entrance.

  • Oh my goodness. The skeptics! This technology is honest to god, ancient. The Germans developed Jetpacks during WW2, you can by commercial leisure jet packs for about 200K today.... We have HAD them for a very long time... they are just not practical 99% of the time.

  • @sorryitookthisname2 the new H20 packs are but,,, thats too loud for stealth :p

  • the us had been working on it, but shut it down becuase it took too much fuel and up in the air for only 30 secs

  • BTW, this film dates from 1973. Before personal computers existed. The voice is that of veteran actor Chuck Conners and it comes from the TV series "Thrillseekers" which featured stuntmen and spectacular new technologies for the time such as hanggliders and rocketbelts.

  • in adition to the hydrogen peroxide fueled Bell rocketbelt shown here, which only has a flying time of 22 seconds or so, the Williams jetbelt which used a small turbofan jet engine had a flight time of 30minutes. Far more practical.

You can see the Williams turbine jet pack towards the end of this vid, and see the kerosene turbine fuel sloshing in his fuel tanks:

  • they use up 20 liters of fuel on 21 seconds... not very effective :P

  • I wouldn't trust flying it myself. What would happen if I'm hanging around at 80ft and the belt kicked out.

  • then you would be fucked

  • fakkeeeeeeeeee

  • It's real.

Anyone who says this is faked is ignorant of the history of the hydrogen peroxide powered Bell rocketbelts, and obviously so uneducated that they cannot see the fluid dynamic effects of high velocity jet streams blasting towards the ground.

Kids who only understand video games, with no understanding of physics and engineering.

  • I'm sorry m8, but it is fake. 1st of all. its way to little to carry him that long time. a rocket belt use about 1 liter of fuel in a second. 2nd the quality makes me suspicius too. way easyier to make a fake movie with bad quality..

  • No sorry, It's real. No individual take is longer than 2 seconds idiot. It's called "editing". A jet belt which works by passing hydrogen peroxide over a silver and samarium nitrate catalyst where it generates steam and oxygen at high pressure for about 22seconds. The flight shown in the video is only around 20 seconds anyway! even with the extra time possible through editing, this flight is of realistic length.

It would be cheaper to hire a jet belt than to produce vfx.

  • zarserz, is a stupid. its historical fact, and there are plenty more videos, even on the net, and more recent, of the rocketbelt in action. you are a stupid.

  • fake or realy?

  • This is actually a "Pabst Blue Ribbon" beer commercial from the 70's. I have the entire commercial. I'll send you a link when I post it.

  • Yup, it's Nelson Tyler. He and Bill Suitor flew his belt in the 70's. Bill flew the Tyler Rocket belt for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. I'm a bit of a Rocket Belt buff myself. If you'd like to see more Rocket Belts, I do have some footage from the original Bell Aerospace Rocket Belts that flew in the 60's. Please feel free to view them on my profile.

  • that was so fake

  • fake fake fake FAKE!

  • You know FUCK ALL! FUCK ALL! FUCK ALL! So much fuck all that it hurts. Do some fucking research before branding everything you see as fake. It would cost more to fake that video than it would to actually build and fly a rocket belt. Dumbmotherfuckercunt!

  • Is true, this is Neslon Tyler flying his rocket belt in the 70's

  • ZOMFG...
