Bumblefoot may be able to play fast stuff but Slash puts FEEL and EMOTION into his playing rather than intense shredding, thats why his Gn'R solo's can't be mimic'd by Bumblefoot or Buckethead. Sure they can hit all the right notes but it sounds horrible compaired to Slash's version.

because Slash writes memorable solo's that your average listener can appreciate and even hum along with. Thal is way better technically...every guitarist knows this, but he's not worth a 10th of Slash in commercial appeal, stage presence, or flat out coolness.
If Slash and Thal were putting on a solo show the same night, Slashes venue would be packed, and Thal would only have a handful of hardcore guitarists.

I wouldn't say slash is a particularly GREAT guitarist either... but I think if we look between people that don't know anything about guitar and say that he's the best, and people that DO know about guitar and say that he sucks, is the truth.
Slash never wanted to be like paul gilbert or john petrucci. He's always been about the dirty blooze-inspired riffs and solos of Page and Joe Perry/ Brad Whitford. And he's done that as good as can be done, IMHO. He's old school.

And even then, the only experience you need is basically: What kind of techniques are easy and which are hard to do. Based on that you can put things into perspective, and with logic you can judge their abilities.

Bumblefoot is an amazing guitar player he is a diverse player and you can hear that from his solo albums song Guitars suck. As with slash he is talented as well he is and will always be the best for guns n roses the thing is u cant say which is better because slash isnt a shredder he write very good solos but bumblefoot plays a completely different style hopefully this will cease the nonsense

Aye that's right mate. They were about a decade & a half late with that chant. If they were only going to shout abuse then plainly they should have went and watched someone else. Was a lad standing next to me with water bombs shouting he was gonna chuck them at Axl. I plainly advised him that I'd rap his pus if he did. He put them down and went elsewhere. Great gig regardless of all the shenanigans.

actually i do. the only effect used is the wah at beggining and in the middle along with the floyd rose in the middle. But a Floyd is not an effect. You're just another slash fan boy. I agree completely that slash is better for GnR but saying bumblefoot uses only effects shows you are not far from autistic.

ah. better then i thought, yes, but i cant stand when anyone over uses a wah, its drives me crazy because anyone can make stuff sounds decent with wah. wah is amazing when its not over used. but its definatly over used here, im not saying hes bad, just. in this song he over uses wah. hes good. heck hes great. but too much wah for me, and ya floyd rose isnt an effect really. its part of the guitar if you have it, but i cant afford anything with it. or a wah. im a poor kid DX.

because Slash writes memorable solo's that your average listener can appreciate and even hum along with. Thal is way better technically...every guitarist knows this, but he's not worth a 10th of Slash in commercial appeal, stage presence, or flat out coolness.
If Slash and Thal were putting on a solo show the same night, Slashes venue would be packed, and Thal would only have a handful of hardcore guitarists.

I wouldn't say slash is a particularly GREAT guitarist either... but I think if we look between people that don't know anything about guitar and say that he's the best, and people that DO know about guitar and say that he sucks, is the truth.
Slash never wanted to be like paul gilbert or john petrucci. He's always been about the dirty blooze-inspired riffs and solos of Page and Joe Perry/ Brad Whitford. And he's done that as good as can be done, IMHO. He's old school.
