the purpose was probably to showcase the car for a sponsor meeting or team event. Since engines are measured in hours of operation and not kms/miles being that this is not under real load (no wheels, maybe even in neutrel) engine damage would be minimal. Ive worked with inconnel before and seeing those exhaust pipes light up like that is scary, considering the properties of the material/
research inconnel. Its the material used to make the exhaust components of these cars, its very light and very very heat resistant, has a very low expansion rate. Its like a mix between metal and ceramic. Ive welded the stuff and to have it glow like that, the shear heat energy leaving those cylinders is amazing. Its a wonderful material
id love to custom fab that shit to fit in my roadrunner haha that would be funny as hell, youd need to widen the frame and body out and report everything
Just a small correction if you don't mind. This video is actually from an Arrows engine not a McLaren. IIRC, it's from the 2002 car wich is equiped with a Cosworth CR3 75 degree V10 engine, 830bhp @ 18,000rpm ;)
You can read The engine partner on T shirt of people. Asiatech has give engine to Arrows in 2002 and to Minardi in 2003. It was not a Cosworth engine. Asiatech have baugth Peugeot activity at the and of the year 2001 .

Yeah, sponsor event would be plausible.
Culd you elaborate on Inconnel? What about it`s properties makes it scary?
