There's soul in your drumming, really like all your videos....I'm an open handed drummer, so I think I'd really like to try the way you've set up your kit....
Sorry but I think that tom set up would make one's drumming very limited... although I do agree that it would make you play differently and one's creativity would be expressed and challenged in a new way.
Hey Paul: Actually, I found it difficult to get used to having the toms set up in that fashion, but I really enjoyed having the hihat out in front. It makes you play different fills when you have the toms like that. Thanks for viewing my videos!
Hi Dale Anne~ You have a real sweet touch to the drums. I have been playing for over 4 decades. Are you currently playing with a band? How did you get started drumming?
Drumming has been my passion my entire life. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the compliment Deb! That is awesome that you are a lifelong passionate drummer... me too!!
I am doing alot of theatre drumming right now, I am involved with the Stratford Festival of Canada's production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Good luck with your drumming!
This was so awesome Dale! You are such a very tasteful drummer, I loved your work in this. The hi hats and splash fills were flawless. You are so fun to watch. I love the smiles that show your passion for the craft =D
Hi there! I don't suck up very well but I agree you are a very good drummer so may I have permission to copy your licks? very inspiring and thanks always.
I watch lots and lots of drum vids on you tube and that was kickass... like your style of drumming . keep up the awsome work , PUT MORE VIDEOS thanks for the show.
You're so fantastic and bless with your talent. When my 7 yrs old grandaughter watch your video, she immediately requested me to buy her a drum kit. So I bought her a Sonor drum kit to start with. Hope she will be a good drummer like you someday. More power to you and God Bless....
Thank you so much for your comments- you made my day! The snare drum is a Taye maple - awesome drum, cranked up nice and high. Good luck with your drumming!!

@daleannebrendon Hi there! I stumbled upon some of your fine videos and I really enjoy your work! What a great discovery!
Please do not be offended, but, I have to admit that you are also perhaps the most fun drummer to watch as you are very attractive and your facial expressions show everyone your passion for playing as well as your impressive talent! Please take care of yourself and enjoy a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2011.
I love your cymbals! specially yours crashes and ride. Congratulations for your drumming! very good sound. Ah! your rigth crash is a Sabian extra thin crash 17" ? because in the Sabian´s site it does not apear
Hi There! Yes, I believe that probably is my Sabian extra thin 17"... one of my favorite cymbals. It may not be on the website as I move them in and out of my set-up, either a 16" or 17".
Thanks for your interest, good luck with your drumming!
Hi There! Thanks for watching my video! At that place I am playing on the floor tom, and throwing a triplet in between the bass drum and RH, LH. Eighth notes, like on a ride cymbal pattern, then a triplet, BD, RH, LH. Kinda hard to explain in this format!! Good luck with your drumming!!
Thanks so much for the compliment, you made my day!! That's a maple Taye snare drum. I am playing on Sonor drums now, they also really rock! Good luck with your drumming!
In a nutshell, I prioritize the hihat by having it right in front of me, accessible with both hands. Then the toms are symmetrical on left and right side, to try and open up my left side to be more ambidexterous. It's fun but very different, and leads to more time-oriented playing usually : )
you are really really good. do you think you could give me any advice for tuning snare drums? i like to get a nice pop out of them, but im having trouble with my 6x14 birch snare. keep up the great work!
Tuning Snare drums, yes... Make sure both heads are really tight!! Most people who don't like their snare sound don't have them tuned high enough!! Tune your toms low, your snare high!! You'll know when it's too high because it will be choked, but other than that, keep crankin' it!
Good luck and thanks for checking out my videos! Dale Anne
thank you, i recently tighten up my 6x14 snare, and i have found it to have a fat sound but with just the right amount of overtone. i have the standard sized PDP 805 series kit which was a great choice for me. its pretty easy to tune. is there anything different for maybe an acrylic or a 6x10 popcorn snare?
okay, I'll be honest since you asked. I am not really a stick twirler... when I twirled them for the intro, I ended up on the wrong end, then had to switch around at the first chance I got. That's what made me laugh at that point!! I use ProMark maple 721's... they rock!! Good luck with your drumming!
im not a stick twirler either, i can but i dont cause it screws my playing up, i hate it when people look down on me cause i cant play double bass as fast or spin sticks as fast as they can. but at least we dont let out playing suffer from trying to pull off stuff that we cant, right?
hey Dale, Detroit Mike here, glad to see you playing, haven't seen you since the days of popjoy/joys ,video looks great, keep up the good work. Also nice that you tube has 3 videos of you. Happy holidays
