@Vidinotes Your right, I never noticed that before--he even has to cough to regain his composure. I was always focused on the Stewardess who starts to laugh at 0.06.
@wallofvideo so kind of you to give me this info! I also found that this same tune is played at the end of the movie - in a slower song with different lyrics - is called "cause I believe in loving". Both songs are written by Marvin Hamlisch (if you want to listen and can't find it, I'll help.) thanks again!
Whenever I see a movie or TV show now that has an interpreter, I think of this movie and laugh. But seriously, what makes Woody a genius is the bit at the end, with the guys in white suits. While many people could come up with the basic premise here, Woody takes it to the next level, from ridiculous to sublime.

I needed a good laugh so I searched "bananas translator".
Love how the actors are on the verge of laughing, especially the 2nd in command rebel at 0:42 after Woody says 'ha ha".
Advice: Don't date someone who doesn't think this is totally off the wall hilarious.

@pattyfromtoledo the title is "quiero la noche," performed by the yomo toro trio. it's the theme from "bananas." it plays during the opening credits.

Sometimes I think this is the funniest movie of all time, even though Annie Hall is still my favorite Woody Allen film.

This, and the guy in the wardrobe, are the most memorable scenes for me. I ALWAYS laugh at them repeatedly. Thanks for sharing!
