  • Scott Pilgrim: Attack of the Hipsters

  • "kids will like the fighting so its ok for them" lmao does this 11 consider himself an adult, just because he reviews movies on cbs, no UR A KID TOO

  • scott pilgrim was great for me the exes made it better however micheal cera was a little more bland version of the graphic novels scott pilgrim but overall i enjoyed watching it and might get the dvd soon

  • You said it yourself, it didnt work for you but it did for us.....

  • IF there is one thing none of you can deny, the kid is confident...

  • even if you don't like video games, you're a guy, you should like fighting...

  • Or if you're 11 years old, you don't like it.

You suck at this because you're too biased!!!

    "I personally don't like this"

    "This is my pet peeve"

"This is my problem with it"

REVIEWS ARE TO BE AS UNBIASED AS POSSIBLE!

  • I didn't even watch this movie (yet), and I know that this review is off.

  • kicking and punching is called action and action is what makes the world go round

  • I like how people are getting so upset that an 11-year-old doesn't like their favorite movie and wishing he would die. I guess this goes to show what kinds of people ARE fans of this movie.

It was pretty mediocre, in my opinion.

  • Negativity aside, he's got a good broadcasting voice.

  • I actually like this guy

  • This kid is a boss.

  • Fuck the haters. This kid rules, and Scott Pilgrim fucking sucked.

  • Movie is a disappointment to Scott Pilgrim Novel fans, but he is 11, so I disregard what he has to say

  • the kid has great talent in his way of presenting and speaking, and has intelligence on what is important to movies; however, he is completely wrong on this one Scott Pilgrim vs The WORLDDD is a really good movie

  • AND YET "NEVER SAY NEVER" GETS A C+

  • He is 11 year old and he's already a better critic than most out there. Just because all of you obviously like a shitty movie like Scott Pilgrim doesnt mean its cool to hate on a 11 year old who smarter than you.

  • @killzoneknut He gave Inception a C and The Lion King a C-.

  • Everybody getting mad, Movie sucks, period.

And Inception was "lol so edgy and deep".

    Well deserved D+ and C.

  • Just because he was born with that annoying reporter's voice doesn't mean he's worth listening to.

  • It was a terribly written movie, in my opinion. Rarely have I seen a film where I did not want the protagonist to get the girl. The character was so bland and such a douche (dumping a girl just because of his first glance at another chick).

Some of the humour was fine, however, and requires almost NO video-game knowledge. It doesn't make up for lack-luster characterization or dialogue but at least it was something to make it easier to watch.

  • excellent

  • This fighting movie had TOO MUCH FIGHTING.

  • This child knows better than reviews of Rotten Tomatoes (81% Fresh/83% Audience)...

  • Even though the movie lacked some of the main themes of the graphic novel, the movie wasn't all "punching and kicking" the theme was that the world doesn't just revolve around Scott and that to be in a good relationship it takes more than just love, you need self-respect, etc.

  • @lightscamerajackson ...So, instead of keeping to the fantastic story line of the original author, you'd rather twist the plot and keep it down to 3 or 4 evil exes. Do you read? 'Cause movies based on any type of book should, in my respectful opinion, be kept as similar as possible to the author's story. By not doing that, one receives awful flicks like "The Golden Compass". Had the entire story been shown, even if it was long, it would have been MUCH better. Please, stop ruining good movies.

  • At least Armond White recommended this movie...

  • This kid doesn't know what he's talking about. Of course, he did say, "First of all, I gotta say I'm not really a video game person," so we can all tell he's a basket case :P

  • If this faggot died, it would have no effect on my life.

Wait, actually it would, I would throw a party commemorating that he's burning in hell.

  • WHY DOES CBS LET THIS KID RUIN MOVIES!!!!

  • DUDE! Whats wrong with you! You gave this movie a D+ and you gave Inception a C!

  • Go watch the justin bieber movie.. other movies you just don't get

  • Im not a video game person in fact I despise video games but this movie was awesome and hilarious I give this an A-.

  • This kid is eleven?

Are u sure hes not 50?

    he sounds like one.....

    What really?

    He is?

    Shut up no he's not

    O 0-o

    WOW!

  • He's not, "big on the story line." He didn't like Inception.

  • lol

  • You guys have to remember he's reviewing these movies for KIDS his age. Of course 11 year olds aren't going to like scott pilgrim or inception or the town.

  • @WonderExperience 11 year old aren't gonna like it? HAHA!

  • @WonderExperience I'd say the absolute opposite for Scott Pilgrim, 11 year olds love superhero movies and comic book movies like Spiderman and Hulk and they like fighting scenes and possibly gaming as well as special effects and humour. It's the perfect combination for an 11 year old (possibly more lads would like it than girls though, not sure about that).

  • @NotaTroll711 "A movie blogger" who doesn't know that it takes years for a movie to become a "cult classic" - FOR SHAME! (and this one never will).

  • @erfinj3rfin Really? Then how come the movie's only made $31M, making it one of the BIGGEST busts of the year?

  • @lightscamerajackson Because of all the free screening it hosted. Kick-ass did the same thing.

  • @lightscamerajackson It did badly because stupid people went to see The Expendables, which came out in the same week! Scott Pilgrim is a masterpiece and Edgar Wright just can't go wrong as a filmmaker. But as you said you don;t have knowledge of much of the referenced material, especially the retro games it heavily parodies!

  • @lightscamerajackson Sorry for responding to a 3+ month old comment but Pilgrim's audience is not specifically gamers. In fact, the movie's audience is most probably made up of a majority consisting of teens and young hipsters; people who love rough indie-pop and/or have a nostalgic soft-side towards video games, comics, anime, and the rest of that lovably geeky stuff. Such limited audience - as well as the Expendables - is the cause of the film's poor BO gross.

PS: the VG industry is HUGE.

  • Personally, I don't see anything wrong with this kid. I love the movie, but I don't hate on people with a different opinion. Also, I agree that it is aimed at people who like video games, and films with a narrow target audience don't normally do the best at the box office.

  • @numberdomino the reason people don't like it is that there are many people more qualified, and reviewers aren't supposed to let their own opinions influence the review.

  • hahahaha is this kid serious someone knows nothing about what is good

  • WHO DOESN'T LIKE A GOOD FIGHT SCENE? I'M A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL AND I LOVE A GOOD FIGHT SCENE. YOU'RE AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD BOY. THIS IS THE AGE WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO EMBRACE NON-GOREY (OR MAYBE GOREY, MAKE IT GOREY FOR ALL I CARE) VIOLENCE.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, KID?

  • Yo kid, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Scott Pilgrim is one of the best movies of all time.

  • He is actually 80 years old, he just looks young

  • So I'm the only one who liked the movie AND thinks that this kid did nothing wrong?

    Oh, okay.

  • i love how he doesnt mention mary elizabeth winstead

  • Kid has obviously been brainwashed into believing a falsified stereotype of gamers.

I watched this for the second time today in a very uncomfortable bean-bag cinema (damned crappy gimmick my local cinema has for the kiddies) and there were a few adults and a few kiddies; from what I could tell we all rather enjoyed it, despite the evil seating. My first viewing was in a cinema packed with older teens and adults between 18 and 25 and it was roaring with laughter. Experience says kid is wrong. :D

  • why is a kid reviewing a movie? who would think thats a good idea.

  • @bigbadrobit Seriously! Who would take his opinion seriously?

  • The kid is write. Apparently he's more mature than this movie's target audience of man-children.

  • Scott's 23, the movie is amazing, you know nothing regarding movies, you're eleven.

  • YOU ARE ELEVEN KID STOP REVIEWING DAMN MOVIES

PS Scott Pilgrim is one of the best movies i have ever seen along with Inception

  • Don't listen to him. It's one of the best freaking movie i've ever seen.

  • Holy shit, is this kid wrong about this movie. The performances are overshadowed by the film's look? You, son, have obviously watched a different movie.

  • Oh, I get it; it's "Jackson" instead of "action."

  • He says a gamer is someone that sits in front of the screen ALL DAY, and that pisses me off. Everyone seems to conclude that if you play video games, that's all you do. It's annoying.

  • Why is he reviewing movies, this kid was born in like 2005.

  • how the hell does this have anything to do with videogames?

  • Yeah. We mindless gamers who like dumb repetition are the ONLY ones who would like this. And that's what the soccer moms get from this. He just throws in movie terminology to sound like he knows what he's doing. Really, this movie is great. The fight scenes are exciting and the characters are very charismatic. But the soccer moms who think "If this kid says so, then I trust him because he's eleven. Wow. Eleven. And he reviews films." Not very well.

  • Kid, this was one of the most brilliant movies I have ever seen. You have no taste. It was original, hilarious, the fights were coreographed very well, the visuals were amazing, and the acting was spot on. And as far as you not being a gamer, my fiancee saw it with me, she is also not a gamer, and she graduated from the USC film school with a BA in Critical Studies. She loved it.

  • he is so annoying.

plus it's based off a comic.

so if there was only three or four exes, he would have just complained about how unaccurate it is to it's comic counterpart.

  • Now this kid is going to go over to an awesome movie based off my favorite comic series and take a crap on it. I'll bet he doesn't even know it's based on comics. He probably doesn't even get some of the references.

  • Wow kid. You're the toughest grader ever. Also, stick to PG-13 movies or lower because you're too young to understand what you're watching.

  • You seem to be woefully misinformed about games.

  • This kids at the point in his life where looking at movies through a critic's eyes have ruined his ability to appreciate good movies that don't rely on great plots. Most critics are at a point in maturity where they learn that some things are meant for some crowds, such as the action-film crowd or the video game crowd, and try to understand the appeal of that movie to that person.

However, due to his young age, he's ironically patronizing to movies, as if he's greater than them. A shame, truly.

  • He gave this a D+ and Inception a C. The bottom line: DON'T TRUST HIM!

  • @jcdcwassup He put marmaduke the same grade as inception. NO! NO! Marmaduke is some ol'bullshit while Inception is incredible.

  • his comment about how people who play video games sit in front of a tv just pushing buttons for hours really pissed me off. I hate comments like that. I'm a gamer, and I loved it. My roommate is not a gamer, and she loved it. It isn't geared towards 11 year olds at all. I'd give this movie an A and I plan to see it at least 3 more times and then buy it the day it's released.

  • Just what in the hell did I just watch?

Why is a child doing a review when this movie is obviously not steered toward his age range? Also to appreciate this film you have to know SOMETHING about the comics.

  • Kid, you're ELEVEN!

  • maybe if this kid played video games and got a sense of humor, he would appreciate this film.

also, this is the strangest movie review i've ever seen in my life.

  • Sir, you are a child. This film is clearly not geared towards you, therefore you have no business reviewing it. Stop reviewing films like this and Inception, and stick to children's films.

  • I can't stand this kid, you aren't normal act your age.
