    haha i love it though

  • We are singing this in my JH choir and we suck. I predict we will majorly suck once we get to the end of this song.

  • were singing this for school at first its hard but after awhile its really cool

  • We are singing this is chorus, but we all sound like shit.

La la la laa laa aaaaaa alalallalallalallal

  • i loooove this song

  • donde está la letra ?(Where is the lyric?)

  • This is going to be a rough choir year....

  • @elemenoh1 Dude. i know right...

  • LOL V

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • my chambers choir sang this the other night. they say it beautifully

  • We have to sing this at school in womens ensamble but i cant got that high at all

  • We're singing this song in choir... and I think I died when I heard the end... 0_0

  • dude my choir is singing this i hope we can get all together by next month GO CHORILIERS!

  • My choir is doing this song in a festival coming up in like a month! We are all so stoked and can hardly pronounce anything hahaha

  • It sounds like they're singing IN instead of EEN. In Latin, 'in' is pronounced 'een'.

  • @FryingFry well no one knows exactly how latin was originally pronounced since its..cough.. a dead language, those who speak it like members of the vatican have been speaking it from an italian interpretation of how its pronounced, not necesarily how it is supposed ot be pronounced

  • my Honors choir is singing this this year and im taking latin ( i know its not latin) so it really helps me pronnounce the words(:

  • This song is a tradition and well known in our choir yearly :) This song is one of the very reasons I joined Concert Choir, and continue to do so.

  • This is a wonderful recording of this beautiful piece. i love this arrangement. I love this interpretation of the song, I love the staccato feeling. Most choirs make it more legato, which doesn't cut it for me.

  • im singing this tomorrow for my spring concert:)

  • i loved this song i had sang in choir my 9th gread year 4 contest and had a blast

  • im learning this in choir right now. its so hard but so fun

  • one word! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • At 1:23 I though it was supposed to be Piano building up to Forte

  • Personally, (JUST ME) this song is too staccato throughout. The first relief should be after the basses "Lau da te .." and it should be legato and return to the staccato. Also, at around 1:11 you can hear where they missed a La right before They go into the Alto Bass duet, you can also hear it before the end.

Too much structure, still very well done, I just didn't enjoy the interpretation. That's music for you :D

  • Singing this with my choir tomorrow for my Pre UIL. I love it. :D

  • Now thats how that's song is supposed to go! Perfect tempo. Good attention to dynamics. Great blend and balance. If i were judging i would definitely give this choir a superior rating. Job Well Done!

  • Singing this tonight at my choir concert. :)

  • doing it for my choir!! :D so hard to keep up :S

  • magnitudinis eius!!

  • my ensemble schola cantorum is performing this for CPA

  • this song so awesome we are singing it for LGPE ( Large Group Performance Evaluation). It's going to be pretty Epic

  • @danielleluvsuso what state?

  • this is the HARDEST SONG TO PRONOUNCE!!!!! DAMN THE ENDING!!! ;)

  • @izara52 Not realy ^^ we are gonna sing that tommorow :)

  • @izara52 fucking agreed im doing this right right now the ending is terrible lmao

  • Comment removed

  • Wow when put together like this it's amazing! My choir is singing this for UIL, and now I'm glad we are!

  • They need a adult GMEA, I miss it.... Those were the years of meeting different individuals from countries in georgia....

  • absolutely beautiful. one of my favorites!

  • iSeekperfection me too. It was pretty when we sang it right. My recording of the concert has still not come yet and it's Ben almost two months

  • @iSeekperfection No. We got prerecorded tapes when our auditions were accepted, but no one bothered to listen to them. So About twenty-two hours of singing, and we preformed six songs, Salmo 150, Tawkwaba Uwabanga Yesu, Do wah Diddy, Ton The, Shojojee, and Morning Tide. It was insane. And when I say, I learned it, we preformed it without music.

  • @iSeekperfection no. We didn't use our music though

  • Im in 7th grade, My all-state choir pulled it off with a perfect 10 !

We did great, All four parts.

    Im a Soprano btw .

  • Our choir is doing this song this year. I wish we could make it sound this good

  • I sang this in Allstate CHior about a month ago. I learned it all in 22 hours. I can't believe we pulled it off, and it sounded pretty. But that's what comes with a good directer

  • love this song my choir sings this

  • my choir sings this now ...u guys did great

  • our choir rocks this song too :p

  • Best version on YouTube!

  • This was done very well.

  • when i was in highschool, our chamber choir preformed this at state, we got first place out of 178 choirs that were there! We also sung Lacromisa and a peice by handel.

  • Would be the ultimate metal song

  • Damn.

This is the BEST version I've found yet..!

So clear and energetic and dynamic.

I hope we sound nearly this good at our concert.

  • our all state chorus learned this song in about two days, and it was forreal the most fun to learn.

  • <3 when the alto's come in after the soprano's.

  • The actual piece has no dynamics written so the lack of in this version was most likely intentional.

  • Other than dynamics, it was well done.

  • My choir is doing this song!

  • A decent performance. The only that was lacking was dynamic expression and musical shaping of the phrases, but well done.

  • This is a very difficult song and this choir sings it very well. I really enjoyed it. They must have spent hours on the diction of this song. I remember mispronouncing everything :)

  • AWESOME!!!!! :DDD

    Truly amazing! :D

  • dude, i miss singing this song. it's soooo intense :)

  • my choir class is doing this for our fall concert and it is awsome~! O3O

  • Absolutely beautiful! My church choir sang this song (in Chinese) recently, too! Welcome to my channel and give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ! Greetings from Hong Kong, China!

  • Awww no crecendo at the jubilate onis! Oh well, this till sounded pretty badass.

  • @Kasidy92 that was the first thing i thought at that part lol

  • i sang this at walt disney concert hall with 900 other people like 2 months ago & it still did not sound this good lol.

    it sounds so epic :)

    i love this song!

  • i love this song! does anyone else feel like it resembles a very religious chase/fight scene?

  • @otakutigergurl What, like kung-fu Jesus versus the Masad on the roof of the Vatican? I'd watch that.

  • @unavoidedcrisis kinda. lol.

  • Who composed this song?

  • @stellarcon According to wiki, it was written by the Brazilian composer Ernani Aguiar.

  • @relsqui Absolutely beautiful! My church choir sang this song (in Chinese) recently, too! Welcome to my channel and give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ! Greetings from Hong Kong, China!

  • Lol i love this! My school symphonic is singing this at state i think...but im only in freshman choir.

  • my choir teacher would be so pissed if she heard them. she would like find so many things wrong with it, it's crazy how she's like that.

  • I just sang this song for choir!<3

  • My choir is performing this at State competition... Magni-tu-di-nis-Eus....stupid tenor part....

  • @Reyrocksall LOL! u got that right!! We had a time with that part!

  • overall great job..harmonies were tight and crisp...as with the pronunciation as well...dynamics...dynamics...dynamics...got to work on those dynamics

  • Really good rendition of this song, but I agree with ChibiWhitetiger, what happened with the dynamics?

Oh, and not to offend anyone who was in this choir, but you really did just sound like a bunch of Americans speaking Spanish. You failed to capture the flair of the language and some of the pronunciation was off(eg. "che's" instead of "ke's"-type things).

Really big sound though, full and warm, I liked it. :)

  • ...Why aren't there any dynamics? A lot of the song is about louder and softer. What happened?

  • @ChibiWhitetiger Yeah, they just killed the "Jubilationes(sp? don't have the music in front of me) part. They just stayed loud instead of starting piano and getting to fortissimo.

Sad, 'cause they had a pretty good sound.

  • @showjumper659 yeah, Its latin btw, not spanish. My group did the opposite. We went from Fortissimo to piano o.o and from the lalalas after, got back to the regular volume.

  • @ChibiWhitetiger Ah! My bad, my choir director kept saying it was Spanish. I think it is though, because he(director) said that on the pronunciation of some word...(it escapes me which one) they were actually saying the Spanish word for something else...So, I'm not sure. 'Cause "psalm" in Spanish /is/ "Salmo."

    -shrug-

  • Magnitusdiniseiusmagnitusdiniseius.

I just love that tenor part. :)

  • oh yeah the alto's and tenors have good parts in this song. especially at the end for alto's

  • Same here. We're singing this for large group contest next week!

  • @Purpleblob99 I'm singing this for state.... can't wait for that tenor part... especially when I screw it up.

  • This is sooooo awesome! My choir is doing this too, this song is so cool if you have the energy and clarity of diction to pull it off.

  • i agree! its not as cool if you dont have the diction and energy! :)

  • we are singing this in choir! amazing its my favorite song to sing right now besides sehnsucht

    and

    credo by mozart

  • sounds like EPIC war musicc

  • at the reapeat theyr'e a little flat..

  • OMG this song is so cool our skool Vocal Ensemble is doing this because we are going to sing this with the LA Master Chorale Chamber Singers. Pretty cool

    thanks for posting:D

  • omg this song sounds so cool :)

    my choir learning it

    im so excited <33

  • Our choir is singing this song. lmao. I can only pronounce lalala. lol

  • im in the exact situation lolol

  • @ILoverzEmoKids I know right o-o

    Its crazy

  • @ILoverzEmoKids I love when the Bass sings that.

  • @ILoverzEmoKids i have to sing the alto part and say chimbalisbenisonatibus.):

  • @carolina776 I sing alto as well... we just started learning this piece.. the alto part at that phrase is so hard for me too!!!

  • @ILoverzEmoKids lol same here, it's awsome still wish i knew the other words.

  • I really love the song! The choir did very good, but the end was a bit jumbled together. Not the 'alleluia', but the part before it. I don't have my music with me right now to say what the exact words are, but I know that I couldn't exactly understand what they were saying. But I completely understand, that part is very hard. Other than that, they were excellent!

  • why are these all so slow?? it's SO MUCH BETTER fast.

  • @ChathamVoices it may be better but theyre singing it as its written in the book, it starts at 12/8 time then changes to 9/8 around the middle and finishes with 12/8 again. which is what these guys are doing. plus, if its crazy fast no one is going to understand a word they sing, diction my friend, simple diction

  • @gtrplyr16: Neither the meter of the piece nor the diction has to do with its tempo, meaning it's possible to have both a clear diction and a fast tempo (I don't know why you even mentioned the change in meter). I do think this version is taken under tempo...

  • i can't wait 2 sing this at my concert..its gonna be fricken amazing...although i'm sure we wont sound as good as them we're only a high school varsity choir

  • you did great guys. I really appreciate this especially the effort. .. the bass is very good... to others, just learn how to appreciate the effort of choral singing. if your a choir you'll appreciate the essence of choral singing.

  • i love this song sung by this choir! it sounds so good.

  • everyone thinks their choir sings it best = DDD

  • We are doing this song in our choir for our christmas concert and i agree with ZmoK3s it's very hard to say the words especially at the Jubilate ones that part is the hardest but the laute de dominum isn't as bad

  • my choir did this and im in chamber singers and its hard to say the words

  • Im sining this in my choir. A very challenging piece but it is so amazing when everything is put together !

  • UGHHHH this piece is AMAZINNGGG. Our district 9th and 10th grade choir is singing it...nooo idea how it's going to end up sounding with less experienced singers such as myself! But it should be a fun experience! Best of luck to all who are singing it...especially you tenors! haha

  • Listen to this, and then imagine regular high schoolers & 8th graders singing this. Hopefully all will go well! But this version is amazing, just like most are!

  • what happened to the triplet at :53? best part of the song :(...

  • Of all the recordings I've heard, I've never heard that articulated. Most choir directors and singers wonder why Aguiar put it in.

  • oh wow, that blew my mind to another dimension! Ya I can't wait either! never been any farther than a neighboring state and getting to go to new york is a grand oppurtunity for me! I'm a Tenor. There's only 3 of us though:( The rest of the guys are bass!!

  • i'm in high school right now and about 20 ppl from my choir - including myself- are going to Carnegie hall in New York and we're going to sing this song!

  • Are you going to the Mass on Easter? Our school is gonna being singing in New York as well in Easter. We're from Phoenix, AZ we have about 40 people though!

  • THAT'S EXACTLY THE ONE WE'RE GOING TO! We're from Duluth, Minnesota. About 20 people are going. I'm so excited for it! OH MY GOSH, WHAT A COINCIDENCE THAT YOU'RE GOING TOO!

  • what high school are you from because my school is also performing there in April of 2010 as well

  • i'm from Marshall School in Duluth

  • This song is cool but the end is a pain in the ass. Lau da te do mi num...

  • I was a top soprano ((:

    LOVELOVELOVE THIS SONNGG!

Makes me miss highschool sooo much!

  • i sang this in my choir as a tenor... wish i was a bass

  • the tenor part's much fun though !

  • lalala-lalala-lalalala- monti jumi samos............ yeah real fun!

  • omd i ADORE this song! I sang as an alto at the SMU summer choral program and LOVED it. I sing it all the time even now and it's been a few months XD great job guys. I loved it!

  • It's good, but the pronunciation could use some improvement.

  • i fucking hate this song, especially the tenor part, no1 ever sounds good in this song, but ya'll did

  • I was in this GMEA Performance. It was so much fun, and this song was my favorite, but everyone forgot the dynamics on the 4x jubilateonis

  • i loved it. My choir did this song last year and we happend to take it WAYYYY to fast...its like we were running a marathon. But the tempo you guys took it as..is manageable. I loved it. great job!

  • woo that song was difficul, too fast! lol i was only some months in the chorus and i was mezzosoprano y remember that in the last part, Aleluia!, i singed like soprano once... it was funny

  • It's a good sound, but the problem with district choirs is no one ever listens to each other. I mean how can you? You're not used to anyone's voice in the choir, let alone your section. I love this piece; it's pretty much my favorite.

  • this song is good but as a freshman in highs chool the words are a bit difficult...but we are getting it... and we are doing this song for sumthing in virginia...im a bass... if you hear of a westover high school doing this song.. i wuznt there but i kud have been...

  • I'm singing this in my women's choir this year. We're taking it to state. I don't think we'll make it. This class is 75% freshman, and as impressive as they are, we are no where near ready. And as the senior of the class, I feel frustrated. An motivational tips on how to improve the song?

  • my school is doing this one but page 4 is a real bitch

  • I just did this in all county

i love this song... though at first i couldnt stand it. it totally grew on me!

    beautiful job

  • OMG!!! this was my choir!!!! and I HATED this song! we sang it too fast. the choir was clearly not prepared on the words but it sounds so good!!!!! omg!!!

  • My choir at school is doing it now, I'm a soprano also. and it's like you need to stay on the higher notes and read it fast! Will it get easier? (Also, need to learn in a month, tops!)

  • I remember this! I loved it. :)

    Soprano One. :D

I probably still have my music somewhere. xD

  • Comment removed

  • im a soprano 2

  • Haha, I was in the women's choir that year, but I remember it. My school choir is doing it now.

  • you're District 6 too? My sister was in your group... lol she was so mad she couldn't be with us

  • Haha, I don't blame her- so was I. Our director was a jerk, and our music was way too hard for a 2-day non-auditioned honor chorus. You know, we started one of our pieces the morning before the concert? It was awful.

  • i dont think anyone could tell... you all sounded great

  • If you say so. XD I definitely heard from people who COULD tell later, though. T_T

  • yo guys, we rushed it a little but we sound awsome
