  • this is the jam

  • This guy and other NY based singers like him were very clearly the inspiration and basis for the Chicago house music that followed.

  • @hardcorehouse u r right! try: jeremy sylvester- the best

  • If you love this video then check out "Gay Pride 2011/Don't Want A Love I Can't Use"....one.

  • Sounds just like his previous hit Trapped!

  • Loved this in 1985 and still jams today. This was music, not that shit on the radio today.

  • @MrJersey2001

Now Im happy I have the album, took years but I got it, and people ask for it, when I make Classic or Party Jams CD's

  • @MrTaz081

Most def, I have the album now, took years i got it

  • @feistychick70 that's where I remember listening to it back in the day in east flatbush

  • classic joint

  • I have to disagree. Music is the answer is the one that does it for me. I saw Colonel perform at O2 last week, absolute quality! He sang "Not gonna let" "Music is the answer" n "Trapped". Best moment was Colonel n James "D Train" Williams - singing a duet of "Before I let go." Next stop for me "Teena Marie." Perfect!

  • Other than Release the Tension, which he never released commercially, this was Colonel's best hit. Larry Levan came in one night on one of his rare nite offs at the Paradise Garage and premiered this record. The dance floor immediately became filled at the sound of Colonel's voice. For a while, Colonel was the hardest working man in HOUSE.

    Keep Bangin!!!

  • @57dms Release the tension was a Boyd Jarvis production; Colonel was just the singer. The record did come out in '84 on 4th and Broadway with Jason Smith the vocalist Jarvis had used on Visual's records, doing the singing but wasn't in the league of the original.

    Besitos muchos. JAIME3 ANDRES
