There are two different types of sr20 ve's. The sr20ve in this video makes 187hp. There is a sr20ve 20v, which is a later generation that make 204hp and 152tq. This race is pretty much even. Nissan's weaker SR20ve versus Honda's weaker K20. So everyone talking about a k20a2 should just stfu.

where abouts are you located? sr20ve's with a tune and the mods you have are definitly faster than what you have done to that k20. But the K20 is a very stout motor when done right as well.
And the k20a2 in its factory car is not all its cracked up to be. You put that in a bubble and its a different story, but an sr20 came in the 200sx so its not like we are swapping a sr20ve into a crx weighted nissan lol.

I dont know if you noticed this but the k20 IDC if its an a2/3/200335323 the design of this motor came out when the production fwd nissan cars stopped putting the sr20 in there cars in 2002. the K series is based off of it and your right I feel that its better, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. if the sr20ve was thrown in a paperweight like most k series motors are(bubbles/crx's etc) then it would be more of a level playing field lol
@marksr20....I understand your opinion and about a level playing field, but you should be pitting the SR20Di vs a k20a3 cause that is a closer equivalent. Also if you wanna compare the ve which by the way is a Japanese and European motor you might compare it to the original K20a which is the same. Also there would be no need to drop the ve into a lighter car because the 200sx is only around a 100 lbs heavier then a little CRX which are both 3-400 lbs lighter then my em2 k20a2 lol

Look at all these Nissan haters. Learn about SR20VE first before you start bashing it. Dont confuse it with the SR20DE. It may not have peak hp greater than the K20 but its advantage lies in the mid range torque band. Had the race been longer then the K20 would catch up...maybe.
ep3 has 160 hp and 10.5:compression with a plastic intake manifold k20a3 weak k20a2 200hp 11.0:1 compression thats a race ep3s are weak im not hatin on the nissan im buildin a VET my self but beatin an ep3 is easy
I can beat Ep3's with my old stock '94 civic ej1 singlecam motor with basic bolt ons. Now I take them like nothing with my stock LS swapped ej1, BUT my 240z L28et can take them even further(just felt like throwing that in). K20a3's are weak, but when boosted they are faster if tuned correctly. I still wouldn't waste money on an Ep3 though.

@raidacaipo the reason why honda motor make more horsepower from there engine is the compression the motor has. sr20det's have low compression to take more boost. honda motors have high compression. thats the reason why they can only take about 5-12 psi of boost only. you have to get forged pistons, rods, block, studs, etc if you want more. Hondas are great for all motor, boost not so great. sr20det on the other hand are great for boost. 7.05 @ 196. making it the second fastest 4 cylinder.
@Cisco121490 actually honda motors are great for low boost for 2 reasons. 1. Low boost means it will have a better chance at not blowing up. 2. Low boost on high compression motor = more horsepower. The only reason why it fails is because its a fwd vehicle. As you already know, there is no traction with that kind of power on a fwd. However, take it to the track with some MT slicks and it will destroy a nissan sr20det...
@raidacaipo if you get past the overboost on a honda you will blow up your motor. on a low compression motor if you overboost you will only blow your turbo. SR's came low compressoin for saftey purposes. the fastest fwd(4cylinder) honda does 8.4 @ 181 on slicks. how is that destroying a sr20det? when there are a couple of sr's in the low 7s. the fastest honda is an s2000 doing 7.7 which still isnt quicker than mazworx's s15 which fastest run is 7.4 at 1/4 mile run. now kako's sr ran 7 flat.

@babeebabybee you need to look closely at videos on youtube. that crx wasnt even FWD. meaning?? it was either an F20c from an s2k or and engine that is not from honda.... looked more like an AWD crx. only rwd engine honda makes is from the s2k or the nsx which is a v6. there are almost no honda's running 7s.

Look at all these Nissan haters. Learn about SR20VE first before you start bashing it. Dont confuse it with the SR20DE. It may not have peak hp greater than the K20 but its advantage lies in the mid range torque band. Had the race been longer then the K20 would catch up...maybe.

I can beat Ep3's with my old stock '94 civic ej1 singlecam motor with basic bolt ons. Now I take them like nothing with my stock LS swapped ej1, BUT my 240z L28et can take them even further(just felt like throwing that in). K20a3's are weak, but when boosted they are faster if tuned correctly. I still wouldn't waste money on an Ep3 though.

@pier456 in one of her videos she talks about being sponsored and how she was getting sponsored by many others... mazworx sells some exact parts for us 240 owners to make it just like him. he names(even sells those parts) all the specs in his car. he did nothing special to make his SR run in the 7s. mb just a VVL head but he sells the parts so you can do it aswell. all it takes is money. have you checked his website?

Do the turbos max and kill it after a couple of months at this boost makes 300hp at 22psi.. Oo yea forgot to mension, Where is your torque v-tec fag.. @raidacaipo the reason why honda motor make more horsepower from there engine is the compression the motor has. sr20det's have low compression to take more boost. honda motors have high compression. thats the reason why they can only take about 5-12 psi of boost only. you have to get forged pistons, rods, block, studs, etc if you want more. Hondas are great for all motor, boost not so great. sr20det on the other hand are great for boost. 7.05 @ 196. making it the second fastest 4 cylinder.

@Cisco121490 actually honda motors are great for low boost for 2 reasons. 1. Low boost means it will have a better chance at not blowing up. 2. Low boost on high compression motor = more horsepower. The only reason why it fails is because its a fwd vehicle. As you already know, there is no traction with that kind of power on a fwd. However, take it to the track with some MT slicks and it will destroy a nissan sr20det...

@raidacaipo if you get past the overboost on a honda you will blow up your motor. on a low compression motor if you overboost you will only blow your turbo. SR's came low compressoin for saftey purposes. the fastest fwd(4cylinder) honda does 8.4 @ 181 on slicks. how is that destroying a sr20det? when there are a couple of sr's in the low 7s. the fastest honda is an s2000 doing 7.7 which still isnt quicker than mazworx's s15 which fastest run is 7.4 at 1/4 mile run. now kako's sr ran 7 flat.

@babeebabybee you need to look closely at videos on youtube. that crx wasnt even FWD. meaning?? it was either an F20c from an s2k or and engine that is not from honda.... looked more like an AWD crx. only rwd engine honda makes is from the s2k or the nsx which is a v6. there are almost no honda's running 7s.

Their are plenty of stock block 10 second k20's and i believe they even ran 9's. Plenty of 400-50+whp stock block b's etc. f20c engines are making almost 800whp on a bone stock engine making 600+on pump. Their vids of low boost Honda's running 10's as well.

putting power down can easily be fixed with slick, lower psi on tire pressure, and a wheelie bar. getting a higher trap time cost alot more
the problem is when u say "majority of 8-9 second 240s are running 2j or rb swaps" people who own 240s know this isnt true becuz there are more ka-t's in the 7, 8, and 9s than 2jz and rb's put together. in the end 240 are still quicker
