@flamingaxe791 -- Yes I am local to San Antonio. I had the car out at Cobb Tuning in Austin last month for one of the Thursday night meets. Shoot me a private message, we probably can meet somewhere.
RAY! dude its soo good to see you got ur car all built it. btw its me jeff remember the other guy with the Rally gsx haha. anyways i miss ya dude. is this vid of you in arizona or new york? and I loved riding in ur car its so fast! I wish my new talon I built was even close to this good
Awesome setup. For anyone saying so and so setup has made the same hp with just a turbo, the difference is in the power curve. The peak number may be attainable with just a large turbo, but the responsiveness and low end power cannot.
Having driven a GT35R on a larger four I can tell you that the boost response SUCKS. It's great over 5000rpm but below that it's really flat.
Twincharging is like having a big engine to start off with, and the turbo becomes REALLY power-efficient... the biggest problem becomes traction, or transmissions, depending on your vehicle.
I'm pretty sure you have boost threshold and full spool confused. No 2.0 to 2.4 liter is going to have a 35r spooled by 3.2-3.5k rpms. There might be positive pressure in the manifold at that point, but not a fully spooled turbo.
No in fact I do not have them confused. watch the autocross video and listen to when the wastegate opens. Thats full boost, currently 24psi and it will achieve that by 3k easily. With the supercharger, the effective engine displacement is 3.1 liters. The GT35R will spool well on an engine of that size.
@QuattroScirocco -- I understand the difference. Look at some of the other videos of the car, particularly the autocross events. Listen to how low the engine rpm is and the car is out of traction.
@QuattroScirocco I know this post is old but i cant believe this post got so many thumbs up. It is true but you are forgeting the fact that it has a POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT supercharger on it so effectively its a 2.3L+ what ever that supercharger is putting out. If its a M90 supercharger it adds the same amount of air as an extra 90 cubic inches of displacement for every turn of the supercharger. Idk what charger he is running but that is the basic concept so the gt35 should spool by 3.2-3.5k
@QuattroScirocco No that is incorrect, I have a dual BB 60 trim on a 2.3 L with a full port job and I am at full bost at 2800 RPMS. With a supercharger I seriously doubt that he wouldn't be making full boost by 3500 rpms especially - you would really by surprised at the spool time on a fully built stroker 4g63, I know I was.
Get some real footage of some action. Lets see how it runs with it being twincharged. A GT35R alone has made well over 500whp on Pump Gas on a 2.0 with excellent streetability.
I know it has. This isn't about peak power. This is about torque and engine response. I don't like drag racing it, I prefer technical forms of racing. There is some footage up now of the car at an autocross.
is that an auto??

What a brilliant automobile. Seems so refined.

Refined, were we watching the same video?

What kind of 60' times do you pull with the twincharged setup?
talon20g 3 years ago
Depends on the track, I've managed a 1.61 without breaking the transmission again.

Are you retarded? The 35r spools at 3200-3500 and pulls hard from there till 9k+.

My 35R gets 21psi at 4200rpm...
Boosted98gsx 2 years ago
That's actually quite good for a single turbo setup. Enjoy it!

@Boosted98gsx my s475 gets 17psi at 3300rpm (thats 1050hp turbo vs ur 700...) on my rb30 whats your point....
twincharged setups are awsome! will be building one for my 4age with itb's and a 76mm turbo
congrats on getting running so good too
