If Cheryl and Dannii had taken the high road and applauded, I'd have had more respect. I understand why they were upset and it was VERY unprofessional on Jay to say the things he did in the press, but they had the opportunity to show their young fans how you can turn the other cheek and didn't take it.

@rorrt Dannii can sing. Search "Dannii Minogue Notre dame de paris." Don't say someone can't sing, when you haven't actually heard them sing, that's just ignorant. Also Dannii has been very successful on the dance circuit and I remember her stuff being very popular in the early 2000.
@rorrt No it's not too long ago. These type of shows don't hirer big stars who wouldn't even have the time to appear on the show every week. They are hirer people who have experience in the music industry but aren't too busy at the moment. Also Dannii has experience being on talent shows, so she has every reason to be there.
@rorrt Whether certain contestants have a "better" voice than her is irrelevant, at the end of the day Danniii and Cheryl have still been more successful pop stars than 98% of the people who have been on the show because it's not all about the voice.

@rorrt But 10 years ago Dannii was off the radar, and pretty much still is. I havent heard anything musically about her for years. But its rare that bands just go bad, its a lot to do with taste. Tom Jones, he still plays the same as he always did but he doesnt have the fans anymore cause people like 'One Direction' and that kind of crap. I LOVE Metallica, but James Hetfield cant sing like he once did in the 80's and in my opinion they died in 1992, but it doesnt mean they were always bad.

Nope, Tom Jones is still good, because he has changed his image, from his very old fashioned "Why oh Why Delilah", and "Whats up pussy cat", to his newer music. And his newest "Praise and Blame" album is great.
And that doesnt work, because a band has to be good to start with, which i don't believe Dannii ever was, but for bands like The Rolling Stones, they were good, and are still good.

I'm not a fan of Cheryl Cole, but his comments were disrespectful toward both women. He is entitled to his opinion and has the right to express it, no matter how nasty they are. I just never liked hearing artists bashing other people's craft.

Regardless how good he is it showed lack of class to make such comments. Put yourself in the girls shoes if he said shit like that about you. You would not give him the time a day either. I think the girls responded appropriately. He was a guest and they were not there to judge him so his remarks were uncalled for. @jamietherooster I have forgotten nothing. I am very sure the band knew why the girls did not clap and who their disdain was directed. I still think they acted appropriately. I read somebody said he was just speaking his mind which kills me. I call that just having a big mouth. Those girls were not there to judge him so his remarks was just him acting like a twat.

@BigStev44 the whole morales of the show and the judges are wrong as are alot of things in life nowadays , and most people dont see it because i feel they just get led down a one way street and dont have a big enough brain to see it.and i like the fact there are people out there who are clever enough to see it and who are not afriad of peoples reaction when they do something .which too many people are. they fail to express theirselves because they are frightened of others reaction.

@jamietherooster I never heard of Xfactor till I saw it on Utube. I only watched it because the weirdos made me laugh. Simon is the only person I knew because of Idol. In the USA Danni and Cheryl are relatively unknown. I utubed both their music and I'm not impressed. Cheryl reminds me of Brittney Spears, can't really sing but hot and everybody wants to bone her. Xfactor is just entertainment and people take it to seriously. As a man I think Jaykay acted like a twat no matter his immense talent.

They obviously asked him what he thought about being on X Factor and he just didn't sugar coat his answer. He's been around long enough to have the right to say what's on his mind. And fair play to him. If a young sting walked through the door, cheryl TWEEDY would probably send him home.

If they haven't got what it takes, they'll fade in time and we'll move on. But to be hugely successful and to attack people for having the same dream you do, and trying to get it by any means possible, makes you a douche. Elton, Sting, Jay Kay, I don't care who they are. Plus the whole tiff between him and Simon is hilarious too. What if he hadn't sent Alex home? If she hadn't won, she wouldn't have been able to compete again. Plus there's something about a 15 year old having a music career that disturbs me. The age limit should be 16. When I saw they were lowering it to 12 for American XF I nearly got sick.

@HPislegend248 It's not about badmouthing someone because they're more talented, it's about badmouthing someone who's SINGING career was built around everything EXCEPT their singing/writing ability. Jay Kay didn't become a famous singer because he was a hot chick with an overpaid dance choreographer who could lipsync. He's an artist who sings live and writes his own music. If Cheryl wasn't hot she wouldn't be famous and she'd STILL have no real talent.

If she were a drug addict, any psycholgist would call well and truly clean. Everyone makes mistakes. I've done things I regret now and so has everyone else. Are we supposed to hold people's mistakes against them for ever? if Brown reappeared in 5 years and hasn't hurt anyone since, I'd forgive him too.

But with people like Brown and Cheryl the phrase "forgive but never forget" fits best. People haven't quite forgiven Brown but they will. But if he laid a hand on another woman again, he's a goner. Same with Cheryl. Its been a decade and she hasn't done anything like that since. So she's forgiven. But if she were to hit a black woman again, she's sunk(and rightly so)
