Both had great guitar riffs. Both rocked! GnR just wrote better songs lyrically speaking and their songs were more eclectic. GnR wrote about all sorts of things. AC/DC pretty much just wrote the same song over & over. Only the riffs changed.

Comparing these two would be like comparing a father and son. The fact is that AC/DC was one of the bands that Gn'R took great inspiration from. And I see a lot of comments saying that Axl was a better singer but the fun fact is that Axl himself stated once that he was annoyed that he could not sing at as high a pitch as Bon Scott in Highway to hell.

I happen to like both bands equally as they are and will both forever be ROCK LEGENDS!!!!!

i would have to say after much thinking that GNR's music is better.

GNR has a greater variation in their songs; from hard driving rock (Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City) to rock ballad (November Rain) to classic rock anthem (Sweet Child of Mine).

AC/DC has great music but it's mostly similar stuff over and over. It's great for rocking out and partying to. But the songs just sound so alike.

Ozzy, Brian Johnson, Rob Zombie, John Lennon (if he was alive), Gene Simmons, Steven Tyler, James Hetfield, etc. = Vocals.

Angus and Malcolm Young, Jimmy Hendricks, Slash, Eddie VanHalen, etc. = Guitars.
