You're deaf and you learned to talk so that you could narrate your videos - that's a wonderful trick. Now lets see you actually put together something that doesn't make me want to shove my fingers in my ears. I suppose this video was meant to be humorous, but how this video got over 36,000 views is beyond me -__-
Great tips. Super useful, well displayed, good speed, and you showed a variety of things we can do using the same technique. Maybe, you can hook up all the machines manually so that we can see how to do so. It's just a personal preference, but I think that learning how to manually connect all the devices gives a more intimate knowledge about what is going on 'behind the scenes'. And it wouldn't actually add more complications to the video.
reason is cool but people stick to making music in it, save the FX for Live or Cubase, etc. the reason setup is too restrictive for expressive effects. In Live you can make FX on top of FX all day, and of course if you have an APC, need I say more?.
That's great the way you've set it up to automate. Not exactly the kind of glitch sound I was looking for, but a great method and learned a bit beyond just the glitch effects...
I like to use more than one music pro gram for one track like i will use fl8 and reason4 and build oringaile loops and samples once i buld a good track i just save track in fl and reason ass wav or what eles andplace them in acid 7.Yes I do all my
twaeks and stuff in fl so i dont have to do much in acid. once in acid i start new set. reason why i do that is when you put in wav it dosnt use muchproces because theres no synth enegines .i can put alot more stuff on like that.
at 2:43 when you right clicked the rex samples what option did you choose, cause I for the life of me have never seen that option. I just looked ... still cant find it. Im using 4 btw
hey how did you change the timing on the drum track? i couldnt see what you right clicked, and it didnt seem like there was a feature in my reason 4? Awesome stuff though.
idk thats only adjusting my keyboard light, i dont know the hot key to override that. Thanks though i really appreciate that you respond to these questions!
This is on Reason 3.0 ,reason 4.0 doesn't seems to have "event change" menu where u randomize the dr rex notes, have you got any idea how to do that on reason 4 ?
press f8 and a menu will pop up, click the tab 'tools'. all the qauntizing and randomizing menus are in that. all you gotta do then is highlight what you wanna change and click apply
That was a great tutorial, and everything worked fine for me, up to the Filter working correctly. it doesn't seem like my filter introduces much regularity back into the beat..or lack thereof.
Turn the FREQ down a bit, and turn the ENV AMT up some. Use the velocity knob if you want to, but remember it will ADD the (Velocity * sensitivity) to your ENV amount.
If you're using a fast rex track, the gates might be coming too fast for it to do any real filtering. If so, try using a matrix instead of the REX as your gate input.
I'm not getting the effect I want when I hook up a matrix like you did for the filter. also is there any way to "quantize" automation curves? or use an osc to define it?
This here glitch video by AcePincter is truly amazing, very elegant and effective methods to shape sounds. Learnt a lot from it, thank you. Me - > checks your previous videos right away :)
wow didn't understand a single word of that...u seem to have a great knowledge of the tools, but all that wiring made me dizzy...how long u been reasoning for?
THANKS for tip. I do have another ? i don't have a keyboard yet but would like to use a virtual on but cant get it to record. Used a few of there sites
If you do not see the "Sequencer", try going to the "window" menu and choosing "Detach Sequencer Window". Otherwise you can try to look for a small square "maximize" button on the top right side of the rack.
i need help with makin music i have watch a ton of your videos. but i cant get that white edit bar at bottom it shows up with the demo song but not when i do new file its gone

why using subtractor through redrum ?
what good of it ?
Seiferzed 2 years ago
To use the Subtractor's LFO and ENV to :modify: the sound, and shape of Redrum's output or that of an inline filter.
Subtractor uses no sound output, just CV output.

Thanx, i use reason myself and love glitch but have always found it difficult to make in Reason. Gonna try some of these techniques now.

Glitch isn't Mac Compatible

No but there are mac plugins which do the same thing as glitch, like SugarBytes Effectrix.

In reason4 you use the F8 key. The other thing I did to change the timing was switch to a different Rex loop AFTER sending the notes to the track.
