For anyone contemplating on getting a GSX R 1000 who may be intimidated, don't be. I jumped from a GS500 to a GSXR1000 (my 4th bike) and I only weigh 140lbs. @thrasha666 actually turbos DO help the top end speed of any vehicle as they increase horse power, horse power is what keeps any vehicle at a top velocity speed and holds it there, more horse power = higher and constant top speed, torque is what gets you there quickly. torque = acceleration speed.

adding a turbo increases both torque and HP there for making any vehicle faster than it would have been from the factory off the line and at a top speed.

do some research before you post.....

@catilover01 not always dude depends on the application, i have 2 2008 yamaha r1s, 1 with turbo 1 without, the turbo is faster up to top speed but compared to non turbo was only mph faster which im crediting to riding with the wind with the turbo and against it without, i dont have to do any research before i post by brother is a bike mechanic, u show me one application where dropping 2k on a turbo gives a noticeable boost in top end thats actually worth it (30mph faster then non at least)

Stock gearing is set up so when the limiter is disabled you wont get to much more out of it. This is done on purpose from the factory. Bike will still hit in the 190's. Set up the gearing and your into the 200's. So 320kmh is NOT a problem at all. Maybe if you owned a bike BEFORE you open you bitch mouth

yeah the speedo says 299kmh but its not a true speed, no speedo reads correct they have around a 15% variation when at those speeds. my mates turboed hyabusa which was on NOS at the time not turboed, was reading 320+ on the clock but only went threw the trap at 306kmh. still dam fast!!!! lol but dam your bike is nice i have to admit ;) i road a busa not so long ago and they mind out nice ;) had a K5 GSXR with me and he was faster than the busa :P

+1, i burst into laughter when i see a guy told ''i run 200 mph (320klm/h) with 165whp''. The speedo is very off at this speed. You nerver tuch 300klm/h. I do some test with GSXR 1000 05 mod and for now the best speed on GPS is 285 klm/h. For run 200 mph you need around 200whp.

you didnt read what i wrote, the speedo might say 299kmh, but in reality it will be doing around 270ish kmh at the posted 299 on the speedo.

that is just an inaccuracy that all speedos have at those velocities.

put a gps unit on that bike and watch the difference in real speedo to the written speedo on the dash :) you will be very suprised.
