Thats the thing with MMA. It is a competition sport and not really an effective one. In a real fight against a Muay thai fighter or a Wing chun practitioner, a muay thai fighter wont let an MMA fighter take them down and a WIng chun fighter will take you out on the counter.

guys. this is part of human weapon. a tv show about 2 guys traveling the world finding & learning different styles of fighting. at the end of every show , one of the two men have to try to fight a champion in that style of fighting, just for fun. @armendariuz obviously, the muay thai guy took it easy cause if you watch earlier in this episode, a guy gets knocked out from an elbow to the head & blood starts spewing out of his mouth.

I have seen people use capoeira ( a part of it) to great success who trained in muay thai for 9 years.
I have also seen a boxer who used TKD kicks almost win the fight against my muay thai teacher.
Yes training in a martial art gets you thinking in a special way that may be common among others that train the same MA. but the more u train in martial arts in general u develop a way of fighting that is unique.Others may know the same moves but you use them in a very unique way

It takes some things from martial arts like Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and more, but since it only takes PARTS of these martial arts, and not all of it... Yeah
The "muay thai fighter" only trained for a couple weeks, you cant expect it to compare. Watch all the videos and you'll see they were trying all the different martial arts. He went to thailand and trained for a little while and tested what he learned in this fight.

I haven't watched any Crocop fights on here for a while, but he definitely packs a powerful round kick(wouldn't want his shin hitting my chin). Anyway, I believe that those fighters you mentioned would be that much better if they utilized some strong Muay Thai in their stand-up too. As much of how good they already are. Pop some Buakaw into Crocop and you have a walking fight-machine.
@specialforces69 As a MT fella, I can confidently say that Muay Thai is THE WEAPON of MMA stand-up ;) .. The hands and feet at velocity are the first point of contact between two fighters. Not to mention the lethal knees and elbows that most pro MT fighters possess - utterly deadly in the clinch/stand up grapple. It's too hard to label either art as the somewhat "better" art. Muay Thai owns MMA in stand-up, and MMA owns Muay Thai on the ground obviously.

I have seen people use capoeira ( a part of it) to great success who trained in muay thai for 9 years.
I have also seen a boxer who used TKD kicks almost win the fight against my muay thai teacher.
Yes training in a martial art gets you thinking in a special way that may be common among others that train the same MA. but the more u train in martial arts in general u develop a way of fighting that is unique.Others may know the same moves but you use them in a very unique way

contineu he cange the world of cage fight and people start add bjj to it.. u need muay thai as much as u need bjj as much as wrestling in mma. am a thaiboxing exchange punches and kicks with me and i will rock u to ur core , but put me against the cage or on my back am completely fucked.i cant do shit..as long as u r standing up muay thai is good.take it from someone who has train and live in thailand at fairtex gym...this is why i have started to learn bjj for a yer now..

The "muay thai fighter" only trained for a couple weeks, you cant expect it to compare. Watch all the videos and you'll see they were trying all the different martial arts. He went to thailand and trained for a little while and tested what he learned in this fight.

@specialforces69 Yup, those are some good examples of fighters utilizing their personal style to a good extent. I haven't watched any Crocop fights on here for a while, but he definitely packs a powerful round kick(wouldn't want his shin hitting my chin). Anyway, I believe that those fighters you mentioned would be that much better if they utilized some strong Muay Thai in their stand-up too. As much of how good they already are. Pop some Buakaw into Crocop and you have a walking fight-machine.

@specialforces69 As a MT fella, I can confidently say that Muay Thai is THE WEAPON of MMA stand-up ;) .. The hands and feet at velocity are the first point of contact between two fighters. Not to mention the lethal knees and elbows that most pro MT fighters possess - utterly deadly in the clinch/stand up grapple. It's too hard to label either art as the somewhat "better" art. Muay Thai owns MMA in stand-up, and MMA owns Muay Thai on the ground obviously.

I can admit if you're already a experiance fighter who learned other martial they should go to mma but if you're starting out you're stupid ok and kickboxing and muay thai can kick mma ass because they have years of experience and eve if mma trys to grapple they kickboxer wont let you .
