In my opinion i dont think thats the case. From what i can tell showtek are keeping up with the changing style of hardstyle. Even Zany, the prophet etc have gone lighter. I think it gives the crowed a happier vibe with high hands in the air melodies and thumping kicks etc. But like i said thats my opinion

Showtek isn't being rejected from Holland, they chose to leave it themselves by leaving the platinum booking agency. Only artists with that booking agency gets to play at q-dance events, but the problem with being with that agency is that they charge ridiculous prices for booking you outside q-events. So it's pretty much a choice of getting to play either at q-dance events (holland) or at events outside of q-dance. Showtek decided to choose the latter, and I respect them for that.
