all the 4-stroke 250's are soo close these days it doesn't make a huge difference. depends on the rider, skill, and his or her determination.

i wouldnt doubt it..a 2 stroke engine at faster revs than a 4 stroke engine......personal input here, i know that a 07-2008 RM-250 would beat a 07-09 RMZ-250..BUT, the 2010 rmz-250 is fuel injected w/ 3 different programable settings, so i hav my doubts if a rm-250 would still b able to beat it, but for sure the previous models

@250elrey The 2-stroke will still win. Though the programer may help in different ignition profiles, fuel trims and etc., it still can not mechanically change the motor to make the power a 2 stroke is capable of.

@250elrey the 04 rm-z redlines at 12500 rpm, so the rpms are nearly identical. Don't you thin that the 125 and 250f race in the same class for a reason? They make the same positive displacement per equivalent combustion cycles (ratios of diplacement and strokes, 2 or 4). In other words, take 250, divide it by 4, and take 125 and divide it by 2, you get the same number. AMA had a mathematical reason behind their classing, and 250's have an advantage over 450f in reality for positive displacement.
