  • i thought the song went a hole lot slower are did my band play it to slow idk but good job

  • @iLoveYoGf I think this band did outstanding for learning this and 3 other songs in just one day then having them played at a concert. I don't think this piece is meant to be faster anyways.

  • whitehouse junior high band played this so much better.vid not on youtube tho

  • @tayja2crazy Considering we learned this in a day, I'm sure most recordings are better(: but cooooool story, bro.

    TEAR ),=

  • Waaaah, thanks so much for all of your positive comments!(: I try to keep up with everyones and reply to all, sometimes it's just impossible to tell if I have or not!

If you are playing this in the future, good luck! It's not the easiest tune to learn! I'm relearning it at this moment XD Have fun with your performance and thanks again! <3 -Ashtin

  • @AlyxFisher i play the wind chimes too!!!! ur in percussion? well accualy i play wind chimes gong and suspended symbols

  • @mathmonkey1 We had too many people for all the parts so we had a gong person, a suspended symbol person, and a wind chimes person.

  • @AlyxFisher BUT those TRHEE times are juuust as important as any other instrument. trust me, it's not the same without it.

  • I really liked it we played it at all region today and it was really fun. I LOVE the first alto part thats with th clarinets thats my favorite part and if u want to listen to a good song look up shipwrecked concert band it the most fun piece ive ever played besides decloration overture its a great song with a tragic story line

  • @saxplayer761 Wow! Cool! I played this for All-Region, too! Aaaaand I had an All-Region concert tonight, also! :D yaaaaaaay!

  • @LeighZim I don't think I'd be able to live with 20 flutes at my school O_O we only have 6 and I wish we had less!

  • trumpets rule!

  • this is really good for a middle school band. im playing this in next month (freshman) and we dont sound like this at all. :D

  • i am the only flute in our middle school and this song rocks :)

  • @veekeeper25 Go get 'em! Show them who's boss!!!

    <3 Flute!(:

  • @veekeeper25 goodness only 1 flute?

  • @LeighZim is that a problem?

  • @veekeeper25 No not really i was just expecting more flutes because at my school there was 20

  • Hi i luv this song cuz we are playing it at our school. Im in the 7th grade band at Lufkin Middle School and almost everyone loves this song. We sound just the same as you guys mabye better lol. Im a saxaphone so its not very exciting but listening to the trumpets and everyone is very pleasant thanks for playing this song.

  • @saxplayerdude2 I'd like to hear you guys! When we played it at All-Region we all loved it too! And I'm thinking with less than two days of practice we sound ok haha! and of course! I always upload the songs I play when I get the recording for them! I look forward to hearing you guys if you get a recording! -Ashtin (:

  • Pretty boring for timpani, no? 25 measures of rest followed by triplet patterns.

  • @DraculasNephew Maybe so, but without it the song wouldn't be complete. All parts are equally important, especially timpani. (:

  • @3ino122 Quite true!

  • my name is ashly s im in the 7th grade and play the baritone in the lufkin middle school band ive been playin for 2 yeaars and i love it we are playing this song andwe sound great i thank the band and our director mrs. Duello

  • @luvinmyhaterz567 Hi there(: I'm glad you love this song, and it's awesome you sound great! Just wait for the years to come in band, the songs will get even better! But I think this will always be one of my favorites(:

  • dang, nice sound for a middle school, i wish my schools could sound as good as this, im a sr and i think it sounds better than our band, we can play the music its just we get selfish and want to be heard by the audience, and im one of those ppl. it took me till my last yr of high school to notice, this is my final yr i want the band to sound great and imma come back next yr to help out with music and marching. :)

  • @turftalk67 I'm a sophomore now. And yeah, I know what you mean everyone wanting to be heard. I think it's great that you want to go back and help next year! You're awesome!

  • I love how this song sounds! Tonight and at Band and Orchestra Festival our band is going to play this. My part isn't that hard but the gut who plays next to me says I'm rushing too much. Anyway I think you guys did great! =]

  • @MusicGirl8181 thank you so much(: It means alot!

  • 2:31 to the end is my fave. we play this this year and i love being a trumpet in this song.

  • @fireman52968 oh my goodness! I Love! that part for the trumpets! though I'm flute, that's my favorite part! (:

  • I'm playing this song right now! I really like it. Woo! BGP! Band Geek Pride!

    The French horn owns!

  • @kitty0kitty French horns are really awesome I'll admit, I love their sound, but I'm flute(: but both are pretty cool

  • yall sound alright but all i have to say is it is a terrible piece for and oboist i stick out so much in it and like im not looking forward to playing it a uil

  • @hjr21rocks Good luck too you(: I'm sure it'll sound fine!

  • i did this song on january 16th for my all region middle school band too. we only had 6 hours to prepare before our concert though. we practiced for 6 hours and then changed and had our concert. i was 6th chair clarinet... this song is really pretty though.....

  • I played this one last year for the U.I.L

In 7th grade... and Russian Folk Fantasy :]

We got 1, 2, 2 in both of em'

  • Alot of the times you can't hear the melody because the accompaniment parts are too loud.. Which is a shame because the melody of this piece is absolutely beautiful. Need to watch your dynamics more but otherwise good job!! Love this piece!!

  • @sasktnndcg I think the reason it might be so choppy is because we had 1 night and a half a day to learn it, and the fact that we didn't know eachother didn't help. But I do agree now listening to it about the dynamics. thanks for the comment/advice

  • This was in my band concer when I was in 6th. this sounds just like us. But I was best on trombone.

  • Of all the songs we played in band throughout high school, this one brings back the most memories. Thank you so much for posting it!

  • You're very welcome ^_^ I have to admit, it is one of my all time favorites that I've played

  • we were supposed to play this but half the band voted for legend of knife river. im mad. i like this one better.

  • only audio D:

  • Yes, I got the dvd but it was destroyed by Hurricane Ike /: sorry

  • I was in this band for this concert my 7th grade year!
