Dude the xbox was the best.PS2 and gamecube had great games.but xbox had the best controller and graphics.plus the 360 had the red ring of death,im scared of wasting my money to buy a new 360.

@singaman101 ok, i noticed your comment is 1 year old. but if you bought a 360 slim right now, it has a system so if it overheats it tells you it's overheating and does not let you play. personally, once my maid turned it on while i was on a trip and stayed on for about a week while on xbox live. no overheat either. stop making excuses for not buying it.

the first xbox was like the sega saturn it did not reach its potential it did have great online games such as halo 2 splinter cell pandora tomrrow splinter cell chaos theroy but it still didnt match the ps2 but they learned from their mistakes andmade the xbox 360 which can now hold its ground against the ps3 ps i am not a fanboy i do own both ps3 and xbox 360 and i enjoy both

i never owned an xbox system ever, until 3 days ago, some lady was having a sale on the side of the road, anyway i got it for 5 bucks, it was just the console thats it, i had to buy the av cable,the adapter, memory card and a controller from a store to make it complete, i even bought a few games.

47 bucks, not bad.

Probably never. Not popular enough, I'd expect. makes me mad at MS. Best way is to buy a PS2. Cheap, and none of the annoying problems the PC version can cause.

What I was trying to get across, and what you obviously missed is why have a PS2 (which I agree is excellent) just for MGS2, when you could get it, along with many other games for free on xbox 1?

Xbox1 gives alot of freedom of gaming.

Tons of emulators, media players, linux, internet browsing, entire games on the harddrive...

Can't see how that's "shit"...

It was a big slab, and it hardly had any decent games of its own. And not all of us were cheap enough to get it chipped/modified so we could get "free" games - some of which didn't even play right, from what I've been told.

It had good online play, but that was about it. It had very few good games - I don't like Halo - PS2 had loads of more quality titles compared to the Xbox.

And all the rest of what you mentioned?

I want(ed) a game console, not a new computer.

MGS2 was just ONE of PS2's good originals. GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas were PS2 originals, too. Xbox just got the ports after everyone else was done with them.

Indeed the xbox was big; but it had to be to hold the hard drive.

I totally agree PS2 had overall the best games of ANY console at the time. It's probably the greatest console of the last 10 years.

Halo was one of many awesome xbox exclusives, that yes, were more tinged towards PC type of games.

I still think the Xbox1 is underrated though.

Btw, If I came across as a PS2 hater in any of my comments, I'm sorry that wasn't my intention; and I love MGS :).

Oh, it's OK. It's just my opinion, really..

I owned an Xbox, Gamecube and PS2 all together at one stage, and I very rarely ever played the Xbox or GCN. PS2 had my favourite exclusives, and I bought all my multiplatform games for PS2, as I preferred the PS2's controller.

Xbox was a powerhouse console, and while it had the shiniest graphics and best technology, it just never really reached it's potential.

I'm glad the 360 is reaching it's potential this time around, though.

I felt it did reach it's potential. There are lots of games on the xbox that have been forgotten about; that I felt really showed off the systems capabilities.

Perhaps you didn't experience enough of these.

Why don't we just say it how it is?

@MentalicMike90 how can u say that. the ps3 is 100000000000000 times better than the 360. honestly i admire the first xbox more than the 360 because there is nothing good on the 360. the first xbox at least had better graphics than the ps2 but the 360 has nothing, no games, no blu ray, slow as shit.

@yourtwistedable I don't play videogames for their graphics. PS2's graphics were actually generally good, too. MGS2/MGS3 were beautiful. Xbox may have had potential, but it was shit in the long run.

The 360 has the most games this generation, but I do prefer PS3 for its exclusives and free online.

Sega Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox.

And yes PS2 > Gamecube. Even if the Gamecube's Gekko architecture was superior to the PS2's Emotion Engine, those shitty mini-DVDs wern't very elaborate on that. Lmao.
