@creamyfilling102 Most engines are, but when you're charging $118,000.00 for a car, people expect hand built engines. Hand built engines are stronger, will live longer, are more receptive to after-market modifications, and can handle the stress of a high performance nameplate like the corvette easier than a factory engine. You want a 638hp engine that will last the life of a warranty, its built by hand my friend.
I bought a crate Corvette engine. I ran it for yrs. before realizing the assemblers forgot to put in # 7 piston. it was only after someone noticed smoke coming from the exh. that I had er checked out. So please, always get a certified mechanic to check-out your engine. I only wish I had known sooner.
@seapeddler I dont believe that for a second! they run those engines on diagnostic machines and they would know if an entire cylinder was missing. in fact, anybody with a brain would know they had a cylinder missing. I play my bullshit card!
@bluefirechicken You seem to have an aversion towards the word 'retard'. Self consciousness is incompatible with concentrating on making a sensible comment.
@bluefirechicken How is this for a sensible comment. You didnt know you had a missing piston in a new motor, therefore, you are fucking retarded!! Retarded!!! Like in the "dee dee dee' way!
@tnak004 drag cars are push rod, supercharged, carborated, huge displacement v8s and pump out over 6000 hp. it doesn't get more old fashioned then that. if you knew anything about engines you'd know there's more to the equation than that.
@ BetoG34 Each engine that is built at the PBC has a name tag on it So yes, The owners of the Hand Built Engines can easily check to see who built there engine. . When you find he time you can visit the Corvette Forums and look under the Who built your engine threads...Can't say that I have seen anyone on there say Hey so and so built my engine and it blew up.....
@ zakspop -- The engines are not installed in the cars at the Build Center in Wixom, they are shipped daily to Bowling Green Assembly Plant where the Corvette is built. The Z06 at the end sits in the front entry at the PBC (thanks crazysj)
The Z06 at the end is probably in the entrance of the building, since there are two engines on stands there, and its tiled floor. It is just a display. You assume that that engine is going in a Z06, when clearly, nowhere does it say that.
I would like to know what major should I take up to do this kind of work? Can somebody please help me ?

American V8s are really good but old fashioned. TOYOYA 1UZ uses 4cams. this engine is still using rockerarms. So GM move on!!

The LS9 is cool, but if you were to build the same thing with aftermarket parts it would be so much better.

A zo6, with a LS7, is shown at the end when a LS9 is being built. Why?
