I'm wondering what RPM is most efficient for DC motors? What about AC motors? I'm thinking a direct drive may be better, you know cut down on some weight and a little friction. Just reverse the polarity for reverse gear..And wouldn't that give regenerative braking with an AC motor? How does your truck do if you pull out in 4th gear?
