and don't forget that those rock climbers and tightropers that do die leave behind family, friends, etc....whereas the ones with ropes can make the occasional miscalculation and still live to see their friends, families, etc. Although people have the right to do what they want with their lives, I think using ropes and safety gear is definitely the way to go.....tight roping or rock climbing and accomplishing the goal is what matters in the end, not the risk of one's own life!

I don't understand why the risk of death (which by the way is still present here) needs to be involved to make this that much more incredible.....I'd rather see rock climbs use ropes, tightrope athletes use ropes, etc......I mean, I still do watch these events without ropes for excitement, but never put a person's accomplishments down because they value their lives!!!
