@pmarci0781 You sir are incorrect. Blizzard was the pioneer of the expanding wing moldboard. They were originally manufactured in the U.P. of Michigan. Douglas Dynamics (corporate owners of Western/Fisher) bought the company in order to own the patent. Direct from Blizzards website: "Blizzard pioneered the expanding moldboard technology, and today manufactures a full range of high-performance heavy-duty and light-duty snowplows that fit a wide range of vehicles."

I am looking for consumer reports or any other reports on this plow, I cannot find any. Please share what you know. Im interesting in purchasing this plow.
@2066241 Blizzard blades are all steel moldboards, using 11 gauge steel for the moldboard and 12 ga. for the "wings". All companies offer poly (high density polyethylene) moldboards, which imo are much better then steel. The poly prevents snow from "sticking" to the moldboard, although it still does occur although less frequently. Hope this helps.
I mean dodge ram's. f-150's and up and silverado's. cant plow very well with a explorer, dakota or s-10, tracker. i should have put this in reply to question below to miked9372.
@sexyzack1997 When you get tired of replacing ball joints and having numerous other steering problems with you Super Duty you will switch to Chevy or GMC like I did. Trust me, you will be much happier.
@allmopars I disagree. I owned a Dakota with a Meyer TMP-7 series Poly and that little truck did just as well as any full size. Also, when doing narrow drives, it was much easier to maneuver then my 3/4 ton with 7'6 Western Poly Pro was.
@Sorg616; its just personal needs, if your like me plowing commercial lots here in Michigan your dakota wouldnt be able to keep up plowing big ass parking lots with 18" of snowfall. I would like to see what happens to your dakota when you angle your plow and try plowing a parking lot with 5" of wet snow, I know I have seen it your truck wont be able to go in a straight line after a few passes since it is so light. Im sure it could do it just a little trickier, need more weight,
@allmopars Actually I did do commercial lots with the truck, a couple smaller church parking lots and many drives. One was located in Grand Rapids. It plowed heavy wet snow quite well actually. Of course I did have 420#'s of ballast to counter the blade weight. After the tranny went out, I moved up to a K2500 R.C. L.B. and a 7'6 Western Poly Pro. I did mention that in my comment, just not in chronological order. And finally, I do live in Michigan!
The Western Plow company should test out plows up here in Newfoundland. The snow that falls up here isn't like the snow in this commercial. Up here, the snow is wet and heavy most of the time. My dad always used Western Plows on his 4 wheel drives. What genius in the car companies thought it was a good idea to use coil springs on a 4X4. Solid front axles and leafs are the best. The best truck to plow with is something with a short wheel base, a Blazer/Jimmy, Ramcharger, or short box trucks..
you are a fucking idiot. There is a regulator on all plows that allows you to adjust the speed of the hydraulics... please keep your little noob mouth shut. You are 12 yrs old and cant even drive a truck without a plow. N00b fgt
First Fisher and Western are owned by Douglas Dynamics. Douglas Dynamics purchased Blizzard plows which was the first company to manufacture these plows so that they could manufacture and sell them as western and fisher.
Western was first to make this design. Then FISHER bought out Western, and took the design of the Wideout. FISHER used that design, and called it the XLS!
your dads V plow cant move as much snow as this unit, V's are nice going down the road, but this thing will kick a V plows ass where i counts, and thats movin snow
im going to be honest here im not saying either are bad i mean every plow has it's pro's and cons but I beleive the V Plow's are more for curved and tigt areas where the wideout can clearly move more in large places(empty parking lots) but if your plowing schools and travelling alot v plows are better becaue the v is better on gas(more aero-dynamic) and can be moved in the perfect position which i like:)
i didnt know you get paid to have a more aerodynamic shape
Lets see. The wideout can move more snow than a V, your going to burn most of your gas moving snow (not driving around with your plow up) if you can move MORE snow with one plow than the other than youll burn up less fuel if your more efficient.
V plows have advantages on traveling but thats about it.
yea but your using the same amount of gas becuase you move more snow(burn more gas) in fatser time as move less snow(burn less gas) in a longer time so it evens out there fore v plows are better but stay in your opinion because it seems you have money to burn on fuel
the wider the plow the fewer the passes the less fuel burned
traveling with the plow your differences in fuel economy is negligible therefore moving more snow more efficiently is better, but you go ahead and keep on with the antiquated V plows, they sure are cute.
is there something wrong with you? how old are you? 10 calling a plow cute cause your jealous you didn't invent it! and be rich wich you never will be and dont tell me some bullshit story that your rich ive herd it all before
your the retard miles per gallon has to do with how many miles per gallon you get out of a gallon nothing to do with how much power you use to move snow retard the rpm has a better chance of telling you which uses less fuel and thats still way and my way is logical
